well... i dont know the officlal name for the MGS4 yet so i'll just call it "An old snake" for now (because from the teaser trailer i've saw, snake looked quite old....or was he old as always? 0_o') anywayz...it looks like the game is set "X years after the Big shell" (i have no idea what that means...since i'm no MGS expert.) anywayz you should look at the trailer i've downloaded so here it is! it's spoken in japanese, but has english subtitles:

MGS4.wmv*if it doesn't work, u can curse on me :P

talk all u want about the game here...oh and btw, this is for PS3. although the trailer has low resolution, i'm sure the game itself is quite detailed

PS: forgot to mention, this trailer is BIG!!( about 19 megabytes) so 56K beware!!!

i just found out that it's "Metal Gear solid 4: Guns of the Patriots"

Yep MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. It's set in the future, and Snake has gotten much older. It looks amazing and is possibly the most detailed and beautiful game ever. Check out www.ign.com and search for it for much more info.

I can't wait for it! If the PS3 isn't 5 billion dollars, I might buy it just for this game!

No problem, I like MGS and any thread that has to do with it.
I even wanna buy MGS3:Subsitence, it looks awesome.

Anyway, how many other MGS games did you play before MGS4?

well i only saw my friend playin and he told me all about MGS. it had very plot interesting i should say. i'm not that good with steath-kind of games so i just shoot anyhere where there are enemies. ^^' i also remember seeing some mechas in the game as well and they looked very kool. wish they are available as action figures.

MGS4 is my most wanted game for the PS3. I love all the old ones. Yeah I can't wait for MGS4 to come out and the graphics looks awsome. I've played MGS1-MGS3 Snake Eater. I also wanted MGS3 Subsistances. Yeah I am a BIG Metal Gear Solid fan :).

The plot is pretty cool, even though the second one was rather confusing. I usually go pretty crazy and kill every everything too, regardless of whether or not I'm supposed to sneak. In MGS3, there's a boss battle where you fight The Sorrow. He forces you to relive everyone you had killed before. You see the ghosts of the hundreds of people you killed attack you. Took me like an hour to get past it cause I was so murderous ^^. But that's Metal Gear for you, secret after secret...

Hideo Kojima is a genius! All the Snake games have been simply marvelous. Sadly, even when MGS4 comes out with PS3, I dont buy it until its featured in some sort of cheap combo version a year or so after the fact. I aint got much money nor do I gots the time I used to to truly enjoy the complexity and brilliance that Kojima puts into his works. I probably will get the MG Acid 2 for PSP and MGS3: Substinence...just dont know when I will have the joy of playing through them!

@YoYotheCananbalisticOreo: lol you'll have time to play them someday...
@ROQ: yah crazy ruleZ!!!!

by the way, i found something while i was surfing the internet: it looks like someone named "saberscorp" had made some pretty nice custom MGS lego models... and kojima really liked them and decided to send an autographed copy of MGS:Snake eater to him! anyways here' the link:

http://www.saber-scorpion.com/lego.htm

he also made a lot of star wars legos and fair amount of halo models as well. quite an amazing creativity he has ;)

I saw the trailor for MGS:4 on a demo disc from OPM. It was totally rightious. The Quality was exquisite! I tried to view the one you gave tie defender 2nd, but its nothing, I mean nothing compared to the one on that dvd demo disc. MGS:4 is going to look bl o o dy splendid on PS3. It really pains me realizing how I hardly have the dime and time!

shoot, I shoulda sent George Lucas my custom Star wars lego mo dels that I made before the Star Wars lego series came out in that case! I made an x-wing, at-st, at-at, and tie fighter which I think were all better than the stuff they are selling now. But that was like 7 yrs ago, and I only have a bare-bones at-st now... :(

NOTe: sorry, gotta put spaces in "bad" words, stupid nany ware on this shared comp

You mean Solid Snake the one we know is going to be an old man. (-_-)

Still I like all Metal Gear Solid games. I'm looking forward to this one. One PS3 is available in Japan I'll get it haha.

I knew he was gonna be old but.... wat can i say? i'm a man who believes all game characters are invincible(?) and dont go old(?). especially when you put the cheat codes on that is XD

Haha, of course. There's always going to be codes to help out Snake. I wonder how realistic it's going to be. In MGS3 you had to find food.

i think you will have to start really getting into the nitty-gritty in MGS4 if kojima feels like continues what he started in mgs3. nitty-gritty as in assembling, cleaning, and augmenting weapons. I think i heard something about finally being able to jack guns from anybody instead of only using the "one" just for "you" sitting in some hidden spot or weapons locker!

If that's the case, then that's a big improvement. Sometimes I find it hard looking for boxes that has the weapon I need. Hopefully the same can be said about rations.

Oh yeah, I just remembered, in MGS4, you're gonna have a robotic sidekick. I'm not sure what it can do, but it's sortof like a super high tech CODEC. I also hope Ocelot returns, he's very cool!
