Artificial Limbs
Link | by Photobucket on 2006-03-07 14:28:34
I have been thinking lately about a possibility to connect a mechanical limb into human body. But my idea have many problem to solve.
This what i think :
If you want to place an artificial limb, first you must think about how it will move. The problem here is how you can connect the nerves. You must understand that any signal that send in human nerves is an electric pulse, it makes me think that we actually can connect an artificial limb with human body.
But the real problem is.....We can't count how many nerves that we must connect (example : in human arm)
Another problem is....The energy that move the artificial limb.
It must be a problem if you must carry a separated batery to supply a power needed by that artificial limb.
What do you think ?

This is awesome thinking...
Unfortunately, I am no science/bio wizard^^
But, for the battery part, it might be worth it (carrying it around) if that limb is very important to you...(i.e. I love to draw and write; I need my hands!! At (almost) any cost!!^o^)
Also, there might be tiny power sources....Like medical ones...

Mmm...Like I said, I'm no bio wizard. But, this is very interesting n__n

Thinking about FMA huh?
I think that may be possible... in the future. But now, mechanical arms are installed on people who have no arms. This is how it works: the arm is worn, and it is operated using your shoulders. When you move your shoulder (the one with the artificial limb) up, the arm will move up, etcetera. I saw it on TV.
