Some dude posted a serial number crack for my software in the above websites.
How cool is that?
Someone actually took the time to decompile my program in order to crack it!
It makes me proud :D_

Ok, so now what...
Gendowned for cracking your program or just the sticking with the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing they thought your program was worth their time to crack?

I doubt it would have taken too long once they sat down to do it. Most of the programs are fairly small so there's not much to sort through.

I used a compiled MD5 function three-part hash, which would have taken a LONG time to step through in assembly.
They must have had some kind of decompiler that can write reversal code.
Given the proper software, it wouldn't be too complicated at all, you just have to know where to look.

"...which would have taken a LONG time to step through in assembly."

So did you write it in assembly language? If so then my hat is off to you. I know how to program with proficiency in the language, but it's incredibly difficult or at least annoying with all the specific limitations there are, like the different bit-size variables. It is incredibly fast though...

(small signatures are sooo much cooler since they don't annoy people trying to read through posts!)

No he didn't write it in assembly, but that is what you have to deal with in reverse engeneering unless you have a decompiler, as he already said. A compiled exe can easily be decompiled into assembly code, but usually not further.

^^*
