"thinking" and "imagining" are two english words. they are both progressive forms of verbs, in fact. those two verbs are often used interchangeably to describe focused brain function. before a philosophical argument can take place, both people need to agree upon terminology. the words we use in argument are purely arbitrary. if i wanted to define the word pumpernickel as meaning "the euphoric effect one has after proving someone else is actually a hamster" i could very well do so. brainstorming does involve imagining, as I understand the words. brainstorming is imagining lots of scenarios, you might say. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If you want a technical explanation, the dictionary says that "thinking" is pondering on an idea or subjecting an idea to the processes of logical thought, etc. "Imagining" is having something in the mind that doesn't exist. So I guess you could say that "thinking" is the consideration of something in the mind, while imagining is a little more specific--the consideration of non-existent ideas. Brainstorming, well...it's defined as the spontaneous contribution of ideas from a group of people. So I think Gendou's vernacular definition matches quite nicely.
Anime is w00t. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. =)
