FMA MANGA (NOT anime) - Thoughts on Maria Ross?

For those of you who don't remember, 2nd Lt. Maria Ross is one of the 2 people assigned to be the Elric brothers' "body guards" after the initial Scar vs. Elrics incident. In the anime she's portrayed as being a lot more uptight than in the manga; in the manga she's just awesome. First of all, thoughts on her in general? She's my second favorite character (after Liza Hawkeye) and I really don't see much about her on forums. People don't seem to be aware of her existence, and I guess I can't blame them because she doesn't get a lot of recognition in the anime OR the manga. Secondly, thoughts on Ross/Brosh pairings? Sgt. Denny Brosh? Remember him? He's her "partner"...they should get together, it would be so KAWAII!! Thirdly... *** SPOILER *** Please don't read this unless you've read past chapter 40 in the manga. Absolutely under no circumstances read this unless you've read past CHAPTER 40. Preferably 41. *** SPOILER *** WHAT ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENED TO HER RECENTLY? The whole thing where they had to fake her death and she had to move to XING? Is anybody else here on the edge of their seats to find out what happens to her? She said something like "if the time comes when I can repay my debt, don't hesitate to call me back." Which had better not mean that she's ACTUALLY gunna end up dead, because then I will fly to Japan, in the luggage rack if I have to, and assassinate Arakawa-sensei. (Provided she's finished writing the series). Actually, I watched an episode of "Evangelion" that made an interesting point that connected to Maria: apparently there's a superstition connected to women with a birthmark under their eye like Maria has. They say that it looks like a tear, and the woman is doomed to a life of sorrow. POOR MARIA!! (And poor Denny...he's so upset cuz he thinks she's dead!) Anywho, I had to start this thread for the same reason that you start a thread about a more obscure anime that needs to be brought to light. FMA all the way! |

| I remembered her of course !! It was a mess when they tried to save her from prison and I cannot forget that - it took about a few chapters for her story and I don't get a chance to see Ed... Anyway Maria doesn't seem to attract me so much... For me, she's a minor character and there's no big deal about her ... |

No way anyone can forget about her if they had read past ch. 40... Well, personally i like her, she's a strong and brave woman. Btw Scout, is Arakawa Hiromu a woman? I didn't know that... |
