why do u like mecha anime?

i dont really understand those anime.my fren once had asked me to watch gundam,but it bored me to sleep its not like i hate those anime,just cant bring myself to like 'em. and yet, most of my anime-lover-frens love mecha animes n talk about it all the time.. n i cant see in any way that they called the robots beautiful?  |

| well i like mech anime cuz then just think of the future wars would be AWSOME with mech's , Gundam's , Eva's , Arm Slave's it would be cool to have a Mech insted of a car just think of a situation like this your friend says we have to run and you anser with i dont have a car but i have the next best thing then BAM flying in the sky in a mech then parked at the video store to return rented dvds LOL |

| The graphics and the battle scenes are cool in my opinion... I thought mecha animes are boring before but when you get into it, it is really interesting... Maybe you have to watch the most interesting part of the anime to get into it. |

hmm...why I like mechas? Not really sure... I've loved robots since Transformers back in '84 and got into the anime mecha scene starting with Robotech (Macross). Since then I've been a Shoji Kawamori fan. For those just started in the genre, I suggest watching Macross Plus and Macross Zero. I'm not saying they're the best there is, it's just that it's more like watching Top Gun then Gundam; you've got more aerial/space dog fights than Robot Vs Robot plus they're short (4-5 episodes so the story doesn't drag on) and visually stunning (as in big budget with CG fx). Another suggestion would be Mamoru Oshii's Patlabor movies BUT be warned, the pacing of the films can get really slow and you only see the mecha action near the end. If you can stomach a Mamoru Oshii film, watching a 52 episode Gundam series shouldn't be a problem. |

Since I played Super Robot Wars which contains all of the mecha in the anime world which join together to kick evil bad butts. =P

I like Mechs and mecha series for the simple concepts that go with them. I mean, how many times have you thought about how cool it would be to show up at school with a 60ft beast of a machine!? or just to be able to pilot one? that would be soooo awesome!!!! And when you start out looking at cool mechs from series like gundam wing (dude, that is one big gattling gun on heavyarms) it sort of grows on you.

First it was Voltron, then the Power Ranger Zords (ONLY THE ZORDS). And THEN TEKKEABLADE!! God that show was awesome!! But I hated the idea that they were kinda weak when split up. Tekkablade showed me that idea that just by themselves they could still be strong. That's why I like Gundam and Escaflowne where they're strong by themselves. |

why? because it's so cool! i mean, if we can ride those things, shooting and slashing and bludging and kicking and punching and rocket launching and many things to do with!! i can be crazy just thinking of those.. i like to have one!like in macross, gundam series, eva's, and many more.. back in early 90's there are many mech anime in Japan! i was there, watching and record it!but the video cassette broken!argh, i miss them.. there were Daggan, Fire Bird(i forgot, but i think this is the title) and many more.. |

because i like to watch mecha animes like gundam series, vandread, dual parrallel adventure, evangelion and other real robots that i like to watch except for super robots that has a low mobility and can hit many times and also i hate their style if they using super robots like shouting the skills like (laser sword) and im a super robot hater thats why when i play SRW, i like to release the squads like gundams and other real robots. And my dream is to pilot MS so that i have a higher mobility. I wish this mecha anime would create a war like Real Robots VS. Super Robots so that which side are you? ^_^ |

I've always liked the idea of bipedal robots, and it's something that captured my heart since my early years watching Voltron and Power Rangers. I personally do NOT want to see Gundams, Arm Slaves, Votoms, Veritechs and the whole nine yards introduced into the world. The whole purpose of shows like Gundam and Macross is to show how ugly war is and how it affects people. I raise a cup in hoping that nobody will ever make weapons as destructive as mobile suits- we're bad off enough with all the nuclear, atom, and hydrogen bombs the world has. While I'm at it, I'd like to recommend the 6 episode OVA Gundam 0080 to people who arn't convinced war is terrible- it's a pretty touching story, though it has a few flaws. |

I like watching Mechs like gundams because it's something that you don't see in reality, and to be honest, I don't want to see it happened because that will make wars more common. Anime like gundam has a moral to it. It's about fighting. I guess that's why I like it. I guess I also like watching it because it's cool seeing the pilots fly around in those things. |

hakuryu-kun the game super robot wars is the only rpg tactics the world that let's you play all mecha anime from gundam, macross, mazinger, getter, grendizer, and etc. with awsome cinematic anime-like fighting scenes. plus, the story itself is amazing and intresting because the game fuses all the anime mechas original story line. for example in super robot wars alpha 3 in the final story of gundam seed, in the anime mu mobile suit was destroyed and he was believed to be dead but in the super robot wars alpha 3 version, mu didn't die because your main character and his/her team (composed to universal century gundam, gundam wing, macross, and etc.) destroyed the black arch angel first and followed by the archangel's attack. i've learned alot of mecha anime because of this game. not to mention each of their mecha's history, weapons, equipments, etc. and also's the pilots aswell. to me playing the super robot wars game is like watching an anime. |

Lol,all those who said things like "how cool it would be to go to school with a mecha" or "how cool it would be to slash,shoot rockets,missles,etc",lol,if one day mechas are really made in real life,trust me,it WOULD NOT be what you all said about the cool stuff and all that,don't get me wrong,i think almost the same way as you mecha-fans do,about how cool and nice the mechas are,but think about this,if one day really mechas are made,it would be the end of the world i think,cz if there is mechas,there is war,there is war,people will die,when people die,others will grieve,when grieving,people will think of revenge and goes on and on and on until the whole world is destroyed,the end. I didn't mean to go off topic,just explaining that it would be nice to love mecha animes and the mechas in them,but for me,i think it IS BAD if you start wishing you had Real Gundams or mechas,THAT is bad. Ok,now for your question,i think most mecha animes are real cool because of the unique design of the mechas,the powers,rifles,guns and so on,etc.But a warning though,if you want to watch all kinds of Mecha animes,go watch the Older mecha animes 1st,before going onto the newer ones. |
