if were traveling fast..

ok im not sure about this but i was once told that if we were to travel in a really fast speed like light speed( wont happen probably die before u get to light speed) to a star is like going back in time, i wonder what that means. anyone care to explain this or is it just something random.. come out of no where |

Alright, if I were to say, get into a space ship that could travel the speed of light, and fly around for a couple of years, I would not have aged at all, but all those I know will have aged. Nothing pops out, and you don't actually travel in time, you just reach destinations in time faster than those around you, and shall still stay young. I believe that is the theory used by scientists. Also, if you could, never travel to a star. That would hurt.

@agesblood: this question has been discussed before, elsewhere in the physics topic. please search before posting! @nyx: i would not say that you are incorrect, except for one minor detail: there is no way to accelerate an object from rest (relative to the observing reference frame) to a speed EQUAL to that which light travels in a vacuum. rather, you can approach this number, but ignore thee not the details, please! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
