What you burned is probably just a data DVD with the avi files on it. You need a program to convert the video into a DVD-player-format disk. Nero's NeroVision is the program you are looking for. |

I recommend Nero Suite 5 or 6, the others don't always work with converting divx avi files into vob format, plus the suite makes it easier to make menus.

Just so u know, if u're that desperate get a dvd player that also plays DiVX. Players that have this feature can play whatever video clips that u put on a dvd. All u have to do is burn ur prefered anime on a dvd as data and ur good to go. The machine is quite cheap here. Only approx $100AUS. U can find players with this function in brands like SONY, PIONEER, JVC...etc. I'd say PIONEER is pretty good cos most of them are free region, so if u buy movies in foreign countries its ok. |

Actually there more like about $140 for a decent one. Some of them don't work well....

my laptop came with the software, but what's the point...a normal data dvd can hold far more than a crappy dvd movie thingy....whatever

I use Divx to DVD (which unfortunately now is no longer freeware, but a trial version up for download), then use DVD shrink (use rewrite function for consecutive episodes) to make it smaller so as to cram more on a DvD and into an iso file, which I then burn using Deepburner. DVD decrypter can also burn iso files if you want an alternative to deepburner, which is free. All of these programs are free except for DiVX to DvD as I had already mentioned. |
