Well... i've been waitin for many months and it's finally here soon~! Empire at war is comin next month, and cant wait for it. I already played the demo and the graphic seems awsome( beside the fact that i got crappy 3D card and runs the game in minimum efficiency). for those of you who dont know this game, it's a 3D strategy game which is based on - obviously - STAR WARS! u can play as empire or rebels, and can play on both land and space! i personally liked the space battle, because the more ships u have, the more nastier and chaotic the battle will become ;) this game should run in most modernt computers since it doesnt require u to hve a lots of comp. requirements...u can assult planets, hire bounty huntersand smugglers, steal imperial technologies (if u r rebel hehe), build space stations (which can upgrade as tech level advanced), build huge fleets and army, do hit and run, go jump into ion field for fun....oh and did i tell ya about the DEATH STAR??? ya u can build it and blow up planets ;) but takes a lot of resource and time to build. Personally, i'd have bunch of Imperial Star Destroyers at my side :) the demo is available rite now. just type empire at war demo at google and u can download it~ it's about 740 mb...yes it's big...took me about 7 hrs thru cable...and also there are ppl who are working on something called modulator (?) which i dont know wat is it but it allows u to make x-tra vehicles which officials didn't released in the original game...it includes some stuffs from SW episode 1 and 2 and "expanded universe" stuffs - yes including *drum rolling*... TIE Defender!!! k i'm done...nuff typing for today...so write wat u think about the game or SW ...or u can give me silent treatment which i'm totally fine with that ;) EDIT: wait i forgot.... they got wookies in the game! as well as chewbacca!!! lol |

It's a great game, altohugh I beat the Rebel campaign in two days.. Well, one day if you count the number of hours I played. In my opinion, it was a little short, but there's the Galaxy Conquest part of the game you can play. Time to play Imperial campaign and start making those Destroyers. :o |

two days?!! dang, that's fast... oh well.. at least this game is way better than star wars:rebellion. it's almost like EaW but crappy graphics (it's an old game) and instead of about 40 planets( in EaW), there's like 200 planets... takes about a month to finish in galaxy conquest. it's too bad that EaW only have units available from pre-yavin battle era. Ahg... no Super star destroyers, TIE Interceptors, nor TIE Defenders!! |

I've never played the game yet, but the preview about this game is awesome! You can see that it's much, much better compared to the first Star Wars RTS games. The graphics are awesome too, by the way.

if i were to compare to a similiar game, it would Force Commander. This game is pretty much an improvement on that previous as well and an incorporation of EaW which was swell, but not my ideal cup o' tea. Its truly funny how the AI is sometimes pretty lame especially when sometimes enemy units dont do jack-sqaut even when thier inclusion into my arranged massacre could have had me sweat bullets... lasers. It was a little annoying to have some of my units spontaniously make a course change somewhere else, but it was wicked fun using Star Wars vehicles to wreak havoc. I also wouldve loved if they had incorporated the better Expanded Universe vehicles and units...like Tie-Defenders, Vong Hunters, Stealth Destroyers and the like.

Yah force commander was pretty enjoyable (althogh many critics say it was the most disappointing game of the year). especially the aircraft dogfight (airspeeder vs TIE fighter) was wicked indeed. anyways, lucasarts made the plot of EaW only associated with timeline events between post-episode III and the destruction of 1st death star...so it is not associated with Expanded Universe(or so that's what they say. wat a crap excuse for not putting super star destroyer...) but then interdictor cruisers, victory star destroyers, and such are expanded universe units? what gives??? XD if you are referring the vong hunters as "coralskippers" then t would be pretty sweet to have them in the game. i heard that like a dozen coral skippers can blow up a star destroyer with some volcanic-like rock projectiles (they are also not mechanic but organic based.) |

yeah, i dont quite remember their names, also, the robots that lando calrissian invested in, those Vong hunters, since adding the Yuuzhan Vong into the game and related units might be out of place. imagine haveing the suncrusher?! nuke the entire solar system with that, no planet, no enemy, no you. haha. we should make another thread commenting about star wars overall, not just aspects...maybe i will.
