On the rating system

Okay, I can't tell for sure wheather it's me or the site, but if it's not me then you can rate something again as soon as someone else rates it. Is this a bug in the system, my misinterpretation of a feature, or just me going insane?
Sore wa... himitsu.

originally, performance was a major concern with the database. a person is only permitted to rate a song once by the rules. this rule, like so many others, is easily broken. the reason is simple: when you rate a song, it stores your username as the "last rated by" for that song. if you try to rate it again right away, it will tell you no. this is enough protection to avoid double ratings due to slow connections and careless refreshing. this is not, however, a "safe" security protocol, and was never intended to be. in the near future, you may see this "feature" disappear, especially if i find it is being abused. "its not a bug, its a surprise feature!" -- my favorite excuse to use at work

That sounds like something Bill Gates would say! lol! I suppose that would be a little space-consuming if you were to have a list of all the people who rated what songs already. Thankfully, most people aren't abusive......I think.......
