I installed Halo on my laptop. Bu tit is not working. It says: "A problem occured initializing DirectDraw. Harware Accelerator maybe Disabled. Please run DXDIAG" I do and I test the DirectDraw and it works. Also I have no accelerator for the DirectDraw. I also cant get Ragnarok to work or Gunz:the Duel either. Is there something wrong with my DirectX?

ah huh....did u install direct x version 9......

That is what version it says it is. And the DirectX files are like 5.03.2000ish.2000ish or 5.01.2000ish.2000ish So i am confused why it doesnt work.

What version of DirectX does it say you have on the first page (the system tab) at the bottom? (Should be 9.0c) |

were can I download an accelerator for DirectDraw? I have tried looking but I havnt found one...

The other thing it could be is that computer doesn't have a graphics card that supports directdraw, or that it could be a detection error in Halo, I've had those on other people's computers and I've figured out how to fix most them.

I have tested the Direct Draw and it the tests show that it works. I have no accelerator for it though, so I do no know if that is it. Also, maybe it is Halo....I dont really know and I do not know were to get an accelerator, so I cant test it out. T.T T.T T.T

Can you run any other graphically demanding games like Halo on the laptop? Just so you know, a graphics accelerator isn't a program you can download; Ryoko is an idiot. Your graphics accelerator is the graphics card you have installed in the computer. |

What are the specs of your laptop? If i remember Halo is quite a mid-high demanding game.
"What time is it?" "5 to half".....

It should work. I have a Dell Latitude|D810 I have played games like Gunz: the Duel and Ragnarok on it before but now it doesnt work T.T

Try downloading and reinstalling DirectX from Microsoft. |

I think I am going into the help center at school for the laptop. I was hoping I could just fix this myself, but I think they may have to look at it. Thanks to all who posted ^_^ Hopefully it will be fixed soon ^_^ have to wait for a couple days...T_T

The problem might be the Video Card of the laptop. It is somehow that your Video card doesn't meet the following requirements for the game you installed.  Cardcaptor Sakura: Blooming Days!: Dreams and Fantasies Becomes A Reality |

thanks everyone!! I fixed it....well the center did...lol I just had to download an accelerator from the DELL site. So it is fixed and I can play Halo. Still cant play Ragnarok....still get that problem.... going to try Gunz again in a while....waiting for them to finish update. Thanks again!!
