does physics include plasma also?

("-_-)=0(#)'3') I'm so werid (^_^) (>_<) Feel the wrath of my feet!

What's plasma?!?!?

What's plasma? WHAT'S PLASMA?!?!?!?!?!?!
Plasma can be called the 4th state of matter. In plasma, the elements electrons are stripped off the nuclei by extreme temperatures. Its what happens when superheat a gas too much. Example: the sun.

Oh yeah...I remember!!!! Heheh! Sorry!!

Of course, modern physical theories do explain the existence of plasma.

um...um....um....isn't plasma have to deal with chemistry because of its....strange atomic structure(no electron, therefore a positive charge)and its creation(extreme temperature exposed to a gas)?

Inside plasma materials, electrons and the electromagnetic fields still exist. However, atoms do not.

P.S.: What the alligator?!

Plasma is actually a lot more common than you may think (i.e. any sort of fire, florecent lamps, the sun, etc.) and don't necesaraly have to take place at extreme temperatures. A plasma means that "at least one electron is dissociated from a significant fraction of the molecules."

For a brief sumarry, in both conceptual and mathmatical terms, check out the Wikipedia page on the topic:

In fact plasma can be used for reaserch, for example to find out the chemical composition of matter, like metals, like the ICP (induced coupled plasma). It depends on the model but basically, it can track particles of an element up to 0.0001ppm, so that means you have to be very carefull in preparing the sample, and you have to use security gear, because of the radiation.
In this case, the way it works to identify the elements it is physics, because it is related to the quantum leap.

Plasma...the cross of the states of matter. It's funny that it was just declared recently when it'spretty common, like the composition of the stars, and blood.

What's cool about the sciences is that they overlap. :D

plasma.....en....plasma TV?! is it made of plasma?
and I read it in some Chem text book, that helium at -272C has no frictional force...it can spin like crazy none stop once it is in motion!!
God...that is some exotic stuff~~!

plasma is the 4th state of matter.
it is a gas so hot that a significant percentage of its make-up is that of free electrons and ions.
