Mixup with the uploads..
|
|
I wanted to upload a highly requested song (wish men for beet the vandel buster) and being the newbie I was, I kinda stopped the upload a few times, causing multiple upload attempts to occur, in which two out of three of 'em were incomplete, now even though this was before someone else uploaded the song by about 20 days, and I actually did end up uploading the whole file, I was still ONLY penalized for the incomplete files, not only that, but you didn't even accept the complete file, now I know this is a tough job, but come one, this was nearly a month ago! Not only was I penalized for a simple mistake, but I even wasn't acknowledged when I got it right!!

What makes you so sure that your upload was 20 days before anyone else? There could easily have been one uploaded before you did yours. An uploaded song may sit on the server for months before it gets added to the database so don't assume that you were the first one to upload it. Also, even if you were the first, Gendou could have chosen to use someone else's file due to bitrate quality, tag info, file name, etc... |

Ah, may I state a couple of facts here? -Fact! I got the point reduction for the incomplete files TWO DAYS after I did so, the complete version was already uploaded as well. -Fact! Even after that the song didn't show up for download until 20 days later as I said. Now what does that lead us to believe? Someone saw the incomplete file, because they gave me -2 points because of it, that same person may have seen my complete upload and dismissed it for another incomplete file or may not have and completely missed it, but he certainly did NOT see another version because then he would've uploaded it accepted it, wouldn't he? Yet it was still only 20 days later that he accepted a different upload of the very same song, actually, the very same file, if I may say, the only way this could've been a mistake is if the rejection was automatic, which I doubt since there could be varying bitrates which would change the size of the file, and you couldn't have a minimum file size limit because then you wouldn't need to tell anybody that they shouldn't upload anything below 128kbps because the server would immediately reject it. Yes you heard me, the second theory is right out of the window because I JUST rechecked the song on the server, and it's nearly exactly. The. Same. FILE!! Same Bitrate, Same tag info, and notice I said NEARLY the same, why because after I downloaded the one on your server, the file name was "wish_men", my file's name was "Sunbrain - wish men", yeah, unless you guys change the filename when you put the songs on your server, then you guys actually chose a crappier version!

Let me state a couple of facts: - Gendou himself is the only one to manage the song database, any actions taken were his and as the owner of the site it's up to him to manage it how he sees fit. - Just so you don't get the wrong idea, I'm not defending Gendou's actions or yours, I'm just trying to explain how things could have happened. For true clarification, you need a word with the big man himself. While I have no idea what happened in this particular case, I would assume that Gendou scanned through the upload folder, deleted incomplete uploads, distributed the appropriate negative upload points, and moved the complete ones to another folder to sort through later. Also, another person could have uploaded an identical file, although tagging alone doesn't prove identity. If yours was tagged correctly, someone else could easily have tagged theirs correctly, independent from you and any source you used. Perhaps they obtained it from the same site/torrent/p2p that you did and beat you to uploading it. And as a side note the server does automaticly rename the file to the title of the song once it is added to the database. |

Sorry for the outburst earlier. This is exactly why I posted here, trying to figure what exactly the hell happened, and hopefully attempt to fix it, and was most likely (as I said in the title) a mixup. And I figured about the rename..
