The annual holiday thread.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________
It is the holiday season again. Christmas, Channukah, Kwanza or whatever. It is also a time of year I generally don't like because of the way people act during the holiday season. It makes me want to drive a heavily armed tank down the street. Nontheless it is supposed to be a time of cheer and charity while people walk through the stores screaming. "Get out of the way stupid b----" I am happy in the thought; I am not out there fighting with the crowds.

I have the perfect answer to holiday gift shopping and I am going to share it with all of you. We have been doing this for about 10-15(?)years and started doing it by accident. It saves the aggrevation of having to select a gift for 10-20 people and generally keeps the cost per gift under $10-15US per person. This years gift works out to $6.75US per person including shipping and handling with delivery overnight from where I bought it. Each year 95% of my gift shopping is done in under 15 minutes with a single phone call. could be an internet order as well, I prefer the phone

Mail order is part of the secret. That saves having to fight with all those people in the stores. Still... there are all those people to find a gift for, one for each. The answer is in the gift itself.

This years gift from Ranger, Rin and family is a 6.5 oz jar of gourmet Oliellaberry jam I bought two cases (12 jars to a case. Now I have gifts for everyone on my holiday list and a few extras if I need them. Total cost <$150US. It is special and unique enough to be appreciated, I get out of it cheap and I don't have to work to hard to do it. A single gift for everyone. One year it was colouring books and crayons, another year a CD of Native American music.

Still, I do cherish my friends, Happy Holidays to you all from Ranger, Rin..

Here is a little gift. It's something I started working on when I first learning HTML. I should really update it. It is also something I use as a mod on another forum when things get out of hand. While it is my own creation the audio does come from Mahoromatic. Enjoy.

Ecchi nano wo ikenai to omoimasu!
I think dirty thoughts are very bad.

Ranger: Gendou that was very cool.

That seems sensible enough. The people I buy gifts for like expensive things...>.>. Oh well, I do not mind, this is the one time I actually spend a lot of money. I'm sorry you experience the screaming at the stores O_o0. I guess living in a smaller town has its advantages sometimes. I love this time of year, I try to stay cheerful and I try to donate. Speaking of which I need to find a place to donate to the Salvation Army. I'm surprised I haven't seen any of them yet. Anywho, happy holidays to everyone on this board, and I hope all of you have a safe and very merry whichever holiday you celebrate.

-Edit- I had christmas, but just realized I did that. I almost forgot about the other holidays, sorry everyone ^^.

Dudeman, we live in a small community as well where the population is about 1200, the nearest town 25,000 and very friendly, the lo-desert cities, 300,000. We don't live or work there. Ranger works there 1-2 days a week and it takes about an hour to get there. I don't really experience the screaming it's just my feelings towards the holidays.

Sero, why are you and others so afraid your going to offend me all the time. If it makes you feel good that's fine. I haven't actually been in a christmas shopping crowd since I can't remember when since I do it all online. Like Dudeman says the advantages of a small community.

Sero Thank you for you kindness. Something I learned a long time ago was that an offense need not be accepted, especially where none was offered.

Rin you always seem to have some very wise words to share. Thanks so much for the christmas ideas, I do most of mine on the internet as well... it's just so much easier and you can always find exactly what you're searching for. You're links were very cool as well. Happy Holidays to Lady Rin as well as everyone else on gendou!

Oh and Lady Rin from my other topic (the live vs suicide) thanks so much for the little animation it was adorable and I saved it, helps perk me up when ever I'm down, makes me think of the friends I've got here!!

"Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have any film..." "Friends are the people who know everything about you and still put up with you!" "Nothing in life is free, even death costs us."

"Rin you always seem to have some very wise words to share".

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Thank you very much. I'm not sure what to say. I've never really considered myself wise or anything like that.

I mixed ths together. Ask me abotu Ranger and I say, I give him my body and soul.

And this is a mix from part of a song from Azumanga Daioh and a sexy Oh! I found and me saying hello. That took forever to get right.

I use a program called GoldWave to record and create the MP3s. All that started about a year and a half ago.
