IgM as the first responder: how does its size and
|
| So I’ve been digging into some early immune response papers and got a bit stuck on IgM. Given how big it is and that whole J-chain setup, does that mess with how reliable secondary detection really is in the early stages? I ran into this while helping a lab mate prep a pilot experiment last year, and we kept second-guessing our readouts. Maybe we were overthinking it, but the size factor keeps bugging me. |

| Lately I’ve noticed that IgM comes up a lot more in casual lab chats than it used to, especially when people talk about early markers and first responses. |

| It’s funny how something that feels basic on paper can still cause head-scratching once real samples and imperfect conditions enter the picture. |
