Looking for a lawyer in New York

| Hey folks, I’m in a bit of a jam and could use some honest input. A few months ago I slipped on some ice outside a shop here in New York and ended up with a pretty nasty sprain. Took forever to heal, missed work, and now I’ve got a stack of medical bills I wasn’t expecting. The place didn’t even apologize — just said “stuff happens.” I keep hearing people mention filing something like a claim for damages, but I have zero clue how that works. Has anyone here been through something like this and can break down what steps actually matter? |

| Thanks — that actually makes sense. I think my biggest worry is making sure I’m not just wasting time or money on something that won’t really go anywhere. Hearing that someone else walked through it and learned the basics before diving in helps me feel more prepared. |

| Totally going in informed makes all the difference. It doesn’t mean you have to jump into a lawsuit right away, but understanding what a claim for damages really is and what goes into building one will make it easier to talk to a lawyer or decide your next step. Hope it works out for you! |
