'ma' in japanese

| I dont know the kanji for it, but 'ma' seems to be a word that refers to demon? However I have also noticed that it is used as a word that refers to magic, is it a case of two different words sounding the same? can someone clarify? |

magic = mahou = ã¾ã»ã† = é”法 devil = maou = ã¾ãŠã† = é”王 hope that clears it up.

I think "é”" is the term by which it is originally coming from Buddhism. "é”" means what disturbs Buddhistic training. Therefore, two meanings, a mysterious and fearful, are included in the letter.
...the "fortune-teller" is trying to foresee something that is really quite unforeseeable...

in chinese, "é”" (pronounced mo in chinese) is associated to myth... mythical é”术 - pronounced 'mo shu' in chinese - means magic in chinese - smilar to "magic = mahou = ã¾ã»ã† = é”法" å¦–é” - pronounced 'yao mo' in chinese - refers to demons in chinese and japanese (even though i don't really know japanese, i am very confident of getting this point right) - smilar to devil é”王 - pronounced 'mo wang' in chinese - pronounced "maou = ã¾ãŠã† = é”王" in japanese - refers to demon king/ king od devil japanese and chinese share a very close relationship... thus i am sure 'ma' or 'é”' share the same meaning in chinese and japanese... can mean demon and magic... basically something mythical
