OK. SO i got 4 years of birthday money a couple of days ago... and i was thinking...what better way to waste it all then on some good quality anime?!!!???!! Like i dont wanna people to tell me to watch Trigun, Hack sign, Cowboy Bopep and others just because they got rave reviews...i wanna know what YOU guys personally thinK!! So...list..3 and tell why...really good reasons.. and like...THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT (to me)...coz i dont want to waste a couple of hundred bucks on something that will be kicked back into the cupboards and not watch ever again... |

I dont know how I am the computer illiterate one. It took me until now to learn that to post reply means that you can reply to the uhmm...what do you call it..post? You could always go through the whole procedure if you like *grins*...but i warn you...my friend tried to teach me how to use ebay...and she gave up after i kept pestering her for one week straight. |

I havent seen much...but yeah: -the ending of Neon Genesis Evagelion...Didnt GET IT...sorry...i really dont get it.. so lemme get this straight..EVerbody died? Or are they trying to say that rebirth is the key to evolution? or is there like a whole new world? Whats with the "dream" vs "reality"? Anyways...it was ...er..interesting..( I couldnt afford to buy the whole series at the time..so i dont know.plus i got a crap computer that doesnt do anything...except dl music at a snail pace :) -Hellsing...coz my friend had it...hmm...bloody.tasteless, immoral and religious blashphemy??!...but thats just me... -Fruits basket...yeah big contrast from above...it was light humoured...and deeply truely cliched...but THE GUY WAS CUTE AS HELL!!! -Kare Kano...i laughed sooo much...but then it got a bit boring...but i still laughed... -rurouni kEnshin-PLus the two OVAs...liked alot..mixed emotions...recommended ...(but this does not mean i only like shounen!) -Naruto..only coz i got chinese cable...kinda...like not as funny as the manga but yeah...ITS SUPPOSED TO BE REAL GOOD!. i liked it . -Haibane Renmei...It was strange...but i adored it.. -Most of Studio Ghibli...Loved everything except Ocean waves...(what the hell was that about?!!) Wait..this is getting too long...ok others ive seen are...Love Hina, Bubblegum Crisis, One piece...er...thats all? so the answer to that question...is ...im an inconsistent person...lov em all...just list some i dont know..."&_&" Also...if ive offended anyone in any way..then i apologise..most sincerely.. |

Ok, some of my favourites - Mahoromatic - from the people who brought you Evangelion. Combat android decides to become a maid in order to extend her remaining lifespan. Good contrast in emotions, the ending to series 2 is a bit strange... Saber marionette J - I've only seen the first 17 episodes (out of 26). Another one of the female android/harem anime, but doesn't have a completly useless male protagonist for a change. The dvds are also quite cheap in the UK, so they should be cheap if you're in the US as well. I might be back with more later if I think of anything, and someone else doesn't post it beforehand. Quite a few of the series' I like haven't been licensed yet, or haven't had all the dvds released. Richard |

I live in Australia... That REALLY limits me buying all kinds of really really good animes...however there are like the basics in some book stores... it sucks that my country is so underdeveloped in the jap animation district.... Or maybe its just where i live... |

Checking out boxsets and older series will get you the most bang for you buck, and you will find gems that you haven't even heard of before. Look through several anime review sites and read the short descriptions. If several sites give a series good reviews, you might want to check it out. Good luck |

1. If you liked Fruits Basket for all the bishies - try some of these => Fushigi Yuugi and Pretear. Both of these are magical girl series with varying degrees of sappiness - but - the boys are to die for! 2. Full Metal Panic - the animation is awesome and I noticed that you didn't mention any other mechas besides NGE. It has a lot of intense battles, comedy, and also a teeny bit of fanservice 3. If you liked kenshin, try these other recent samurai series - Samurai 7 and Samurai Champloo. Most of these are available through fansubs so I recommend you preview the animes with those first. You can also go online and research further about each series. Make sure when you buy the DVDs that 1)quality of DVD 2) subbed and dubbed versions 3)if the copy is -er- illegitimate, check the subtitles for correct grammer. I hope you get the most out of your money!! |

definitely Full Metal Panic! and Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! those two are my favorites but another good one to check out is Gasaraki. it's slow to get into and you don't feel very attached to the characters afterwards, but it's a pretty good mech/fantasy/drama

ONE PIECE!!! ONE PIECE!!! If you wanna go for something unique, and awesome at the same time, go for One Piece. It's one of my favorite animes. |

Well if i were to list my personal faves it would have to be InuYasha Movies(just watch the series on TV or you could spend all your money on the series) Naruto Fruits Basket (but Kyo is mine!) Outlaw Star (specially if you like Cowboy Bebop cause they're really almost the same) Chrono Crusade Thats all that I could think of that would really apease me! ^_^
It's all fun and games untill Snape ends up in a banna suit....

Great Teacher Onizuka - For some really good life lessons mixed with comedy and even some drama. Chobits - Some more comedy and visual eye-candy. Hunter X Hunter - Shounen adventure, great story. |

| One of my favorites is Noir it's cool if you like two girls assasinating people, umm i also enjoyed Nadesico its a classic, Gundum Seed of course, hmm Orphen is good and u can find the whole disk set for cheap, also liked Vandread although not too many people have heard of it, and a good movie is Spriggan, i'm currently watching Kiddy Grade it's cool it's from the makers of Nadesico theres lots more but i'm tired. Love RK haha |

Ummm my current favourites are: Yami No matsuei: Groovy, dark and twisted. Rune Soldier: Amusing light-hearted adventure about a klutzy magician. Excel Saga: Twisted anime that parodies everything and anything. Saiyuki: a Jeep, guns and mystical weapons yay. Pretear: I liked this, it's a new twist on a fairytale but without the overpowering sap, there's some good problems ion there

I gotta admit that for the money that you would spend on it Cowboy Bebop was pretty damn good kinda stylized bit man it's funny and i could watch it over and over again. FLCL IS another pricless anime only like 6 eps but IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST ANIMES EVER i cracked up sooo many times it was just TOO cool. Lastly hmm...If you've got the cash Inuyasha is a definite...if not..I would definitely suggest either TRIGUN, funny western style anime that is not what it seems or Excel saga for the inifnite laffs lol <^-^>
