Backyard upgrade – are fire pits or fireplaces bet
|
| We want to add some kind of fire feature to our backyard this year. I like the idea of a fire pit, but my partner’s leaning toward a built-in fireplace. Our space isn’t huge, so we’re wondering what’s more practical for warmth, entertaining, and resale value. Thoughts? |

| Depends on your lifestyle. Some people prefer the open layout of a fire pit, others love the look of a full fireplace. |

| Both options are great, but a built-in fireplace can provide more consistent warmth and a cozy focal point https://oakshs.ca/fireplaces-and-fire-pits-installation/ lays out the pros and cons of each setup. We went with a stone fireplace built along the back fence, and it really elevated the whole patio area. It blocks wind, reflects heat better, and allows for more structured seating. Maintenance has been minimal too. Fire pits are great for flexibility, but fireplaces offer more design impact and can be customized to match your landscaping. It depends on how formal or casual you want the space to feel. |
