Questions About the Language
|
|
some things i am curious about im not exactly sure what the word Wo means like in this sentence Tsubasa Wo Hiroge (copied from a song lyric) from what i've seen it has similar properties to "No" Also what exactly is a Kansai accent anyways i've been meaning to find out i've noticed that a handful of people replace "Ai" with "E" one of them being a close friend of mine who was born in Japan |

Re: Questions About the Language
|
| Wo is placed after a noun to indicate that it's a direct object |

ã‚’(wo) specifies the subject of action. for example, パンをãŸã¹ã¾ã™ = pan wo tabemasu = i eat bread

I've always wondered what the 'small' tsu sign put in the middle o words spelled in Katakana. I know that 'small' signs are used to change the vowel, but I'm just learning Japanese and I have no idea what it does. Could somebody clear this up? Is it a pronunciation thing? |

Little tsu in katakana works the same as it does in hiragana - double consonants. ãƒãƒƒãƒˆ(batto) - bat ã¡ã‚‡ã£ã¨(chotto) - a little |

tsubasa wo hiroge means spread your wings if it was tsubasa no hiroge, it would mean the spreadding of the wings.

Yeah, but in some Katakana names, there's a tsu and there's no double vowel. I'm confused. Since my computer doesn't support Japanese, I'll just sound it out. Yoshi's Island -the game- is spelled like so. YO-tsu-SHI ....the rest. |

Re: Questions About the Language

yeah the tsu doubles the constanant instead of the vowl before it so its basically yosshi |

hmmm, for merry christmas all i know is "meri-kurisumasu." that would be in katakana, but i dunno japanese has another form of merry christmas. for japanese basic sentences, there are many of them. it also depends on what you're saying and the particles in it. need to be specific. if i could, i'd scan my japanese textbook from school!

I Want to Kiss You -å›ã«ã‚スã—ãŸã„ There are severals ways to say this, but here you go... I'm assuming that you're a male and that the person you want to lock lips with is female, so I went with "kimi" instead of "anata" (though that too would've worked).

I've heard different. 10 was Jyû, and 6 was Roku. And isn't there no such sound as Si? Isn't it Shichi instead? |
