I'm having trouble with bit-torrents

My bit torrents seem to just freeze up. I have a DSL connection yet it seems that any torrent I look at tends to take 500,000 hours+. I'm thinking maybe it is my extension cord that is causing trouble for my committed charge. My comp loads up really slowly now a days ever since I moved it to my room. Should I try getting a more reliable source? Or is it something else that is causing problems?

there are many reasons this may be happening. first, are you connecting to any seeders? if not, you have a problem. if you are behind a router, you will have to put your Internet Address in by hand. Also, if you are trying to download something not being seeded, you wont get very far. If your ISP or network administrator (at work) have limited or blocked the default bittorrent ports, you will have to change them. it will help your connection if people can connect to you, as well, so if you are behind a router that you own, forward port 6880-6890 to your computer. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
