Hi... I just wanna ask... In anime, i hear 2 kinds of words that translate to english is 'NO' that words is DAME and Yamete... but I dont understand what the real meaning about that words in Japan thanks |

æ¢ã‚ã‚‹ = ã‚„ã‚ã‚‹ = yameru = to stop ダメ = ã ã‚ = dame = bad (thing/action) Yamete is "-te" form of the verb yameru, short for yamete kudasai which means please stop. leaving off the kudasai is less formal, and as such the "please" part is gone. "Dame" is a word that represents one simple concept: DONT DO IT. no-no. wrong. not good. bad. uh-uh. not cool. bad move. wrong answer. not even.

yamero= yamete...........??? Right?? but "-ro" is used for men.....

yeah dame = forbidden or Dont, or it can be said formally with basically the same meaning by saying ikemasen  |

Yamete means stop and Dame means no i just learned it from listening different anime mp3

From what I believe, Yamete means "to stop". Dame means "wrong" or "no good". Im not hundred percent sure since Japanese grammar is way different than english.
Nihon-go wa sukoshi hanasemasu....

"Yamete" is like stronger use of "Dame". Say for instence some guy is harassing you, "Yamete" would be used. It's more ... mn...Harsh. "Dame" is for something lighter, like if a friend is teasing you or your lil brother is messing w/ you. "Dame" would be used, it all depends on the situation. Most popular use: Yamete = Stop it Dame = Don't, stop that  |
