non existance
|
If anything we cant see, touch, smell, or hear then can they affect us? and let's say the color spectrum...if we cant see the other colors does that mean that they dont exist to us but do to lets say dogs or cats? does that mean that diffrent animals live in diffrent zones of existance or reality because they can tap into either more or less?

Here's one for ya.... How can we be sure that the colours I see are the same as the colours you see? Since it is impossible to describe colours, we can't know for sure.

what is meant in physics by "color" is the frequency of light. if you and i measure the frequency of the light to be the same, then the "color" is the same. as it happens, humans have some pretty good light sensors built right into their faces. lucky us. however, color may not have the same "meaning" to you as it does to me, but thats another topic entirely. as for the parts of the electro-magnetic (light) spectrum other than the "visible range"; we have some VERY precise instruments and methods for measuring this light. your eyes are one tool, just as an x-ray machine is another. animals live in the VERY SAME universe we do. of course they experience it in a vastly different way. in some ways, humans seem to have a "deeper" understanding of nature because of our scientific discoveries. in some ways, animals seem to have a "deeper" understanding of nature because of their closeness with it. just because you don't sense ultra-violet light, doesn't mean its not there. it still gives you a sunburn: proof of it's existence. |

For us to say that something exists, it or its effects have to be perceptible. Something that cant be percieved (like say a physical particle that never interacts with matter and does not explain any physical phenomena) cannot be said to exist. Nor can any object exist outside our perceptions. The trees, cars, and buildings we see around us exist only as the information provided by our senses. I guess the main issue then is where the signals to our senses come from and how do all minds in the world come to percieve the same world. Just took a test in my philosophy class today, by the way.
