The thread topic says it all. Postulating the existence of hell as real. Is it endothermic, that is does it absorb heat or is it exo-thermic, meaning it gives off heat. You may use theology, science or both to prove your theory. *maniacal laughter* |

I'm going with buddhism here for a sec, hope you won't mind, since I'm atheist I think of all religions. In buddhist hell there are several stages, and one of the stages just so happens to be the Freezing Hell, where all is cold and lifeless, this would be endothermic, as it takes your body heat away to make you feel cold. So the heat taken from the body is transformed in a source of energy for the burning hell, where there's eternal suffering from the immense heat. so that would be exothermic. Economic and energy conservative. very efficient. I'll eat you. |
Re: His hell endo or exo thermic.

Ill can prove hell is exothermic using sicence AND THEOLOGY Basicly the bible does not say where hell is exactly so it could be any where so endothermic will not work in that sence. but we can asume more souls are going in that the rate hell can expand so presure will increse and due to that high presure it will make its own heat and the heat will forever become hotter. this was on a collage finnal the kid who wrote this got the only A in the class PS I could have endo and exothemic mixed up but I think exo means gives off and makes its own heat

both? it takes souls and it releases temptation to lure us into sin. so...pretty complex. |

Science + religon endothermic becaus it is absorbing the heat from the core of the planet or it is ectothermic being the core of our planet or just a sun

I don't see how hell could be endothermic, it should be exothermic because it's a burning freakin' inferno, it's supposed to boil you alive (or dead). If it "abosorbs" heat it'll feel cold, because it'll extract the heat from you. I'll eat you. |

read my post if you want to prove me wrong resite a bible verse that proves me wrong that hell is in the center of the earth also I can also revise my post to the 2 page answer that has no possible loop holes also on the verse give me book chaper verse also the full verson has parts that my offend some people in nonreligous ways or youll laugh you head off

Re: His hell endo or exo thermic.

here is the proof that hell is exothermic First we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing over time. So,we need to the rate souls are enterning and leaving Hell. I think we can safely asume that once a sould enters Hell, it won't be leaving. As for how many souls are going into hell we have to look at all world religion. Since many state that if you are not a member of their church you are going to hell and that you can be of more than one religous group we can asume everyone will go to hell. (That last part I dont beleive as being true but for the sake of proving this Im going with it.)With birth and death rates we can asume hells population will increase expnentially. Now,we look at the change of volume in hell because Boyle's Law states that for the tempiture in hell to stay the same it has to expand its volume as souls go in. This leaves 2 possibilities:(1) If hell is expanding at a slower rate than souls are added the the presure and heat in hell will build up intill all hell breaks lose.(2) that if hell was expanding at a fasted rate than souls were being added that temp. and presure would drop untill hell frezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate that Ms.Therese gave me my freshman year where she said "It will be a cold night in hell before I sleep with you." Might I say I have not had any susesful sexual relations with her the (2)(look above)can't be possible thus I am sure hell is exothermic Hope you like it took me forever to type

yes thew student did assume much but what he says can be true it gave good logic for them also this was the only Kid who got an A on the Final Exam with this question.

Re: His hell endo or exo thermic.

Obviousl it is exothermic....the heat is projected to the surrounding...if hell is endo...its gonna be cold |

Here is the original paper. ____________________________ As you study for exams, remember its not the quantity it's the quantity. And remember there is no substitute for pure unadulterated bull Dr. Schambaugh, of the University of Oklahoma School of Chemical Engineering, Final Exam question for May of 1997. Dr. Schambaugh is known for asking questions such as, "why do airplanes fly?" on his final exams. His one and only final exam question in May 1997 for his Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer II class was: "Is hell exothermic or endothermic? Support your answer with proof." Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: "First, We postulate that if souls exist, then they must have some mass. If they do, then a mole of souls can also have a mass. So, at what rate are souls moving into hell and at what rate are souls leaving? I think we can safely assume that once a soul gets to hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for souls entering hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, then you will go to hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all people and souls go to hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change in volume in hell. Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in hell to stay the same, the ratio of the mass of souls and volume needs to stay constant. Two options exist: If hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter hell, then the temperature and pressure in hell will increase until all hell breaks loose. If hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the quote given to me by Theresa Manyan during Freshman year, "that it will be a cold night in hell before I sleep with you" and take into account the fact that I still have NOT succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then Option 2 cannot be true...Thus, hell is exothermic." The student, Tim Graham, got the only A. Conbgratulations to those who remembered or found it. |
