1. Otaku is not something to be proud of being, it means you have no social life, have high income but spend them allllll on anime related products, or leech off your parents, living in your parents' basement. so unless this is you, don't call yourself an Otaku, it's just as bad as calling yourself the comic book guy from simpsons, perhaps worse, what am I talking about, even worse.

2. Just wondering, does anyone use the Proactive acne fighting system? and does it work? just wondering.

I'll eat you.

Perhaps not, however when it is used in fun I think works. BTW I do know the proper meaning of Otaku.

GeicoGecko's comments and my answers.

eg Geico - me.

it means you have no social life - Not true

have high income - I wish

but spend them allllll on anime related products - that twould be nice but pointless.

leech off your parents, living in your parents' basement. - We are the parents.

BTW do you have Geico car insurance. I tried to get Geicp insurance only they said they could not beat the premiums of who I am with.

*giggle*

Besides... for me... there are a lot of different "types" of Otakus out there as well... lets not stick to the old "generic" otaku...

I like to call my self an otaku. Although I dont spend money and crazy anime related goods, just anime, I dont go to anime conventions, or an anime club, Ive built 1 gundam model I got as a present and have 1 Totoro plushie also present. I do watch alot more anime than the average otaku.

If I refer to myself as an otaku I break the sterotype. When people say all anime otakus are fat geeks, they can see an american with a sixpack standing upon a mountain of defeated foes, and has girls of ill morals hitting on him. You can call this man an otaku, I will carry the name with pride.

No social life- yes, unless getting into fights with random people is social
High income- yes
spend all on anime related products- anime is an anime related product, and one could say I buy swords cause of anime, so yes
Leech off parents- dear god yes
Live in the basement- dont have one.

proud otaku

well... i was kinda responding to both... Geico's definition is based upon what the majority thinks of what an otaku looks and acts like... whereas there are other Otakus... from the working class, has a social life etc...etc...

yeah.. Lu Bu makes sense.

I'm a self proclaimed otaku, coz anything anime, i get intersted in it. If I had time to attend a AniCon, I'd attend.

And If I had money, I'd buy all my favorites series and their mangas.
