friends reactions to first (real) anime ever

if you have a friend who knew nothing of anime,(except what you raved to them about it) and they watched a real anime for the first time, what was their reaction?

We should not shed tears for that is a surrender of the body to the heart. It is only proof that we are beings that do not know what to do with our hearts.
dubbing hurts my ears. and im 13!

ok first of all, apologies in advance for offending anyone.
I have a couple of white trash friends and I got them hooked on anime by getting them to watch (why the hell did it have to be) Berserk, they really liked the killing and the blood and the gore, i'm glad that they can accept customs of other cultures, but now they keep begging me for more blood, it's like i got the hooked on crack or something, scary. I just recently gave them Elfen Lied to fend them off for a while, dunno how long that will last.

Side Note: I liked the Manga of Elfen Lied a lot better than the Anime.

I'll eat you.

I've shown my best friend quite a few animes, but that usually end sup with him having a bemused look on his face. He enjoyed Evangelion though.

One of my pals watched anime after I said that it was sooo gooood, but of all things she went and watched Inuyasha, and had a really bad impression. She said that she turned it off after 5 minutes. Now, I'm trying to get her to watch Naruto....but it aint working. She likes Disney, though, so I guess if she gives anime a chance she'll like it. BUt not everything is CInderella, heh.

i have a friend who DOESNT like anime that much. shw would often tell me that i should ignore the tv and go with them instead.
then she saw Fushigi Yuugi [she's a hopeless romantic] and she liked it. when i talk about anime, she would always say anything
bout miaka and tamahome whenever there's an opportunity. she may have like it a lot but is not close to being addicted to it.

Well I'd have to say that I've liked anime without actually knowing it for a while, but then I'd have to say that I too was the friend it was introduced to. One of my friends was the one who told me that what I was watching was anime, I was a little shocked and curious but over all it went well for me. I've only introduced it to one other friend so far and it hasn't gone over so well she didn't care for it, she'd rather have her music. In my area though anime isn't as widely accepted as it is in most places, if you like it, your a rare bread and that's why at school if I find at least three other people who like it as much as I do, or not even as much as myself (cause my one friend likes the dubs... EWWW, she just doesn't understand anime as well as I do) then it's good cause here your looked on as "weird" or "childish" for liking "cartoons" as everyone refers to it, although slowly but steadily I think people are becoming more open to the idea and such...

"Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have any film..." "Friends are the people who know everything about you and still put up with you!" "Nothing in life is free, even death costs us."

At first, my friends were like, "wow, you sit in your room all alone and watch cartoons." Then I introduced them to Bleach and they've been hooked ever since! ^_^

Oh this is soooo funny.
I watch (and read) Fushigi the Mysterious play.
Then I keep talking about it to my friend.
I was like "Damn Nakago Why is he so evil"
"Does Tamahome like Miaka"
" AARRRGG, why do people want Tamahome and Miaka be apart"
"blah blah Fushigi Yugi"
" Fushigi Yugi ladiada"
" and that happen and this happen"
then there is one day my friend asked me....."why do you know so much about this Yufu... gi aguly ...(she meant by Fushigi Yugi)thing and don't know how to spell pedal...?"

oops!
hehe
can't help it!
right?

The first time i watch anime i was shocked. how can cartoons be so camptivating? Guess its the drawing and the ideas developed in the story...
I was so good that i got stuck there in front my the pc for the whole day and even at night "Naruto". since then i became adicted...
I now have a prive collection of almost all manga which has been released......
