theory on gravity

i had a theory(probably not a bright one)about increasing the magnet polarity while facing the non atracting ends together. if you found a way to hold them in place without them flipping and had big enough magnets do you think you could disrupt the gravity around you to float or possibly produce a gravity shockiwave |
Re: theory on gravity

i am sorry that i am not goingto give you an answer. Gravity is the hard part that i haven't understood yet. and, i don't know about the meaning of "gravity shockiwave",though. i thought that gravity field and magnetic field are different. gravity exists since some thing that has matter and mass.. I don't know why gravity and magnetism exist. those two are just facts that exists every moment. what i remember is that. physical force, magnetic force, and the electronic force exist in same point.(this one is related to Fleming's rule. and it might not related to your topic.) Even though i don't know how the magnetic force and gravity work, it seems like. some kind of particle or wave comes from one side and goes into the other side to experiment your theory, people must use the electromagnet. i thnk that even you use strong magnets, you can give physical force, gravity, to surroudings because already the power is working to the magnets and the instruments, which hold the magnets. after all, i don't think that gravity shock will happen. and i am sorry that i write down without knowing little bit about gravity. And if i wrote something confusing others and making no-sense. post write above mine. thank you. and Mister or Miss Genome, would you liketo tell me or us about the gravity, please?
eh... tag.

i don't know anything about gravity either. i had based it on the fact that when the magnets are faced against each other with the same poles they will resist and hover until they flip. so i was thinking if you face them at a slant ( /-\ ) and increase the polarity they would hover. kinda like the bullet trains in japan |
Re: theory on gravity

yah. iam in guam. u.s. territory. and i don't know whether there is a bullet train in states. Yah. there are many bullet trains in the world. its name is something like "magnetic levitation train". the train is tested well in Japan and German. some european countries and oriental countries have worked with that. like. Japan, china, korea, German, France. i was thinking "disrupting gravity and gravity shockiwave" as like absence of gravity for a short time. the magnet has power. it works. the magnetic power works in the gravity field. for fun, there is GREAT and fascinating fact. there is something faster than light. or there is something greater than light. the GRAVITY. gravity exists in anywhere of this world unless nothing is existing at the place. Space, ouside of earth, consists of gravity field and the space that space that has nothing. the speed of spreading out of gravity is trmendoously fast.of course because it just exists.

take to magnets place them side by side[-]like so and drop a small paperclip in the center and you will have your answer |
Re: theory on gravity

If you are just creating a disruption in gravity, shouldn't the gravity outside of the anti-gravity perimeter be enough force to cause an essential downfall? Your basicly a feather trying to catch an updraft in a waterfall. Just not gonna happen. MUHAHAHAHAHAHahahahahaa |
Re: theory on gravity

i don't think its possibly for the gravity on the outside of the field to effect the field itself. |

Ask Newton. And by the way for some unique reason, I idolize Isaac Newton... Especially when he landed on Gaea... Hehehehe ( ^_^) No seriously.. Gravity. I believe that we can change gravity here on earth. It is possible that we can fly or our feet won't touch the ground.

You guys are confusing MagLev with gravity and magnetism. MagLev is a technique to lift heavy objct and move them frictionless over a path. this is doe by creating a magnetic field then pushing against the road bed. MagLev trains. Gravity is the attraction of two or more masses to each other. a planet and you attracting each other giving you a sense of up and down. A magnetic field is made by winding copper wire around an iron core and putting an electric current through it. Magnetic fields also occur naturally in minerals like magnetite and iron The earths magnet field is as much a function of gravity as it is and electrical field. Is that enough to confuse you? |
Re: theory on gravity
|
Yup, desertranger is right. Magnetic force and gravity is different. You can have an opposing force with magnet, but you can't when it comes to gravity. Gravity is always attractive. I don't know however, whether our body can be attracted or repelled by magnetic force... Try placing two similar magnets into a test tube. The above magnet should be hovering in the air. Then, try to put something between them, like paperclips (as suggested by tank) or nail or something... Who knows what will happen...,,

Re: theory on gravity

I agree with desertranger there. Gravity comes from the Earth's immense mass pulling on your body. Magnets only repel or attract other magnets. Something that isn't magnetic (mis-spelled?) like wood doesn't move no matter how powerful a magnet you got going. I'm pretty sure we are not magnetic because we are 80ish percent water. The iron in our blood is probably magntic but i think our skin and musle tissue stop any magnetic force. But to answer the first question you asked genome, no is my bet. Unless you were on a magetic metal floor or something. but magnets only repel or attract other magnets, so magnets only work on magnetic things unlike gravity witch pulls on anyting that has mass. so yes even a single human has a gravitational (I know that is misspelled) pull. {but it is so weak compared to the earth that it is virtually not there.} |
Re: theory on gravity

Actually according to Newtonian physics (and I'm sure Captain knows this but didn't word it correctly) gravitational force is a result of two masses, as in the equation: F = G*(m_1*m_2)/d^2 if I remember my highschool physics correctly (don't bug me about relativity, I've forgotten all of that already). So the force between the Earth and say a person is large because the product of the two masses is large. The force between two people is small because the product of the masses is relatively small. In other words the force of the Earth pulling on the person is equal and opposite to the force of the person pulling on the Earth. I think. No wait, maybe I'm just typing gibberish... if this is makes sense to anyone and it happens to be correct then let me know yeah.
We are all shmidly.

That's correct, I just finished that physics unit.

think of how destructive the human race would get with gravity manipulation. you could reflect gravity back and tear chunks out of the earth (enders game). we would first develop weapons, then propulsion. |
