Anime left handers......

Here are the anime left handers I have noticed. I have also noticed they are concentrated in sports anime. Is it because it looks more comfortable seeing someone holding a sword to the left (a.k.a. our RHS)? 1. Echizen Ryoma - Prince of Tennis 2. Tezuka Kunimitsu - Prince of Tennis 3. Fuji Yuuta - Prince of Tennis 4. Dan Taichi - Prince of Tennis 5. Mukahi Gakuto - Prince of Tennis 6. Saeki Koujiro - Prince of Tennis 7. Niou Masaharu - Prince of Tennis 8. Miura Ranmaru - Dear Boys Thats all I know! And is it obvious that I am a PoT fan? 届ã‹ãªãã¦ã‚‚ 追ã„ã‹ã‘㦠|

About the whole left-hand in sport thing. I think it's to do with the rarity of left-handers in most sports. Take fencing, for example. Let's say there's fifty students, and 1 of them is LH. Week after week he'll be fighting RHers, but there won't be a person who'll be up against LH all the time. So they won't know how to tackle him. I guess if an anime were to throw in a LH player/fighter/person, it would be to present a feasable and realistic obstacle for the main characters. I haven't read/seen Prince of tennis or any other sports-related show/manga, so I could be talking nonsense. |

I'm left handed too The only other fictional characters outside of anime that I know are left handed are Bart Simpson, Link from Zelda, and Rocky Balboa. I know the character who tried to disguise himself as Naruto in the 2nd phase of the Chuunin exam was also left handed

how do you find out all these things, do you watch specifically for a time when these characters use their hands or do you just pick it up?

Well I just notice......somehow...... I just like to look at details and especially when sports anime place emphasis on whether an athlete is left or right-handed in sports which require use of hands. The other left-handed characters I know outside of anime are Ginger from As Told By Ginger and Chuckie from the Rugrats. 届ã‹ãªãã¦ã‚‚ 追ã„ã‹ã‘㦠|

I can't believe people notice these things. I figure lazy animators just make most characters ambidexs.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

| this is a good one, ill try to check if the characters you mentioned are truly left handed. but common mainstream animes i think use both hands and it will be hard to notice. the best way to tell is to see if the character is writing some notes, that is i think the best way to tell if he/she is right/left handed. |

All the main characters from Lucky Star Train Heartnet from Black Cat (well technically he's kinda ambidextrous, but if he really wants a really good shot out of his gun, he relies on his left hand) |
