Actually it's not that special. It's just a slimmed down version of the gba with all the improvements they added to the SP version including a backlit screen and a built-in rechargable battery. The big gimmic is that it's about the size of a cellphone. (And that's supposed to make me go buy one? yeah right! I'll just use my DS) |

It is really sexy and small and it has interchangable faceplates, a dimmable backlit screen (you can adjust the brightness up and down), good qualty stereo separation like the DS, and the internal rechargeble battery from nintendo is as long lasting as ever. Unfortunately, they made the screen higher resolution so it could be smaller and now the screen is not much bigger than a cellphone's display. |

Yeah, in my opinion, it's a step down from GBA SP... Frankly, they've got too diverse of a product line nowadays, as far as portables go... The've already admitted they plan to continue making GBA games and DS games to support the two main platforms, which is ok, but to introduce another hardware console (even though it is still a GBA) for people to buy makes a strain on them to produce both SPs & Micros at the same time... I dunno about everyone, but I thought the GBA was sexy/small enough (for me anyway)... Also, I think everyone that wanted a GBA & didn't spring for the non-lit original, already went & bought a GBASP, and they're *not* going to go again and buy a micro just "because", for lack of a better reason... I know I have no reason to buy one, and I actually prefer the flip-top style of the GBASP better, anyway, as even more protection for the screen... I really have to wonder about some of Nintendo's moves lately... First the Micro, and recently, the "Revolution"'s new controller... Someone once wrote in an article that one game company can easily trounce another by *giving* gamers what they want, rather than *telling* gamers what they want... It seems as though Nintendo is producing products that are telling us what we want, as though consumer's wants don't matter... "We're *sure* all the gamers want another GBA that's small & sexy" "We're sure gamers want non-traditional controllers for the Revolution" "We're sure gamers don't want Blu-Ray or HD-DVD disc support for larger games on the Revolution", etc.... If this trend of telling consumers what they want continues, I predict dark futures for Nintendo... |

I don't see it as telling us what we want, but giveing us a choice. Do you want to play on a console that is only a few concepts evloved from its last-gen counterpart console or do you want to play a console that is based on groundbreaking ideas for the possibilites of where the future games is going? They are not trying to give us the certian future of what gaming will be. |
