Your opinion about other dimension...
Link | by yumeNOnaka on 2005-09-15 09:59:51
I believe that beside our world other world is exsist... this many worlds called by me "Other Dimension" like some movie about parallel world.

I just think, if other dimension is actually always connected to us, so we can reach them by something... if we found that way, we can life in other configuration. And is may be better or worst than this world (our dimension)...

Some physich theory explain that, but its confuse me... ^^;

Any other opinion.... ??

There ae two schools of thought on the possibility of alternate dimensions. The classical school says that for each potential outcome to a situation, when the situation is resolved, the other potential outcomes disappear. The "many worlds" theory says that for each potential outcome, a new universe splits off, one for each outcome, creating an infinite number of alternate worlds. No one has been able to prove either theory, to the best of my knowledge.

However, whether it is true or not the many worlds theory is beloved of science fiction authors. w007, w007.

Its small possibilites until we can invite some huge energy resource to open the dimension doors.

Do you Like anime ? I really love Anime ^^

Well what I'm about to say is based on my OWN theory inspired by books and other data..

There is another dimension which surpasses our own time.
It is a fact that time is infinite in outer space. We have only found limited theories and observations because, somehow, a human mind is shallow. It would take a lot of time before he will have some spark of advance information. But there is another dimension, where there are inhabitants who don't look like us, or look like us, or similar. The time span could be well 25 hours or 30 hours per day. The pull of gravity could be larger or smaller, so the larger the gravity, the larger the inhabitants. vice versa. They could have different moons, different suns. Their sun could be blue, could be green. Their moons could be comets. Endless possibilities..... It is all possible.

Somewhere out there.... We are not yet certain

But we're not alone in the universe. (to be continued....)

P.S. Hehehehehehe!

And the third theory that for each potential outcome (besides the one that is true upon resolution) was only created by mankind who lacked enough understanding or information to correctly assess the situation. Thus, there is only truely one outcome when you flip a coin, though its different for each flip, depending on how you flip it.

This theory, however, means that free will is only an illusion and that your actions are dictated entirely by cause and effect.

to me the other dimension mean other world
such as certain people with special
power only can see that
maybe ghost
many be that call other dimension or
maybe in other dimension they don't 3-D
but 4-D or 5-D or even more
ahaha maybe i think took much but i do
hope it really have^^

never regret for what you have done!!!!

I like that idea of the other dimension being the place you go when you die. Living world/spirit world type thing. Ghosts are cool, this dimension sucks, I wanna go to the other one.

Actually, i read somewhere (this is about the 'many worlds theory') that some scientist guy once proposed an experiment to prove it. It was this:

If he was to load a gun, and shoot himself, 2 worlds would be created in 1 (the most likely) he would be dead (of course) and in 2, he would still be alive (for some reason, which is the least likely).

Basically, i guess it is divided into the most/least likely outcome, and the most likely outcome is the reality we live through (which of course means that any action taken in the world affects the entire world...which makes sense really)

So basically, there are an infinite amount of parallel worlds, all different, but it would take a large amount of energy (i'm guessing) to be able to go to, or observe these alternate worlds.

Maybe i'll expand later on...lol (i'll probably post here alot in the future lol...you know, that probably created 1 or more worlds...*deep in thought*)

the mani worlds theory is a load of junk... after they tested it they confirmd tht it was exactly the same as ani other dimention

Well actually i believe that there are another dimension.
We live in 4 dimensional space, but could you imagine that 'out there' exist a dimension with 5 dimensional space or more. I'm afraid that if we can create a gate between this two dimension, a living thing from 5D space will come and he only live here in 4 dimensional form, leaving 1 dimensional form in its own dimension.
And imagine how hard it is to kill something that only half-exist in our world. what if 10D creature come, and most of its parts remain on its dimension. How we killed it if it trying to kill us?

The String Theory, the leading theory attempting to unify all the known forces in the universe (a.k.a Mother of all Theories) actually proposes 10 the existence of spatial dimensions.

So if (big IF) this theory would someday be proven right, then there you have it.

Interesting thought about parallel universes, though. I've read somewhere about the weird behavior of electrons, that when they pass a double-slitted barrier (or even single, I think. Has to do this Young's experiment, I think), they actually take infinitely many routes in order to pass through the slit. So... argh. I forgot. All I remember is that I fell off my chair when I read this. >.<

Well, my impression is that in theroy it should be true that, if you break things down far enough, everything is caculatable becuase by the laws of physics; i.e. there is only one event that can take place in any perfectly defined situation. Assuming this is true, then if you had the exact information on every of the most basic particles of existance (whatever THOSE are) in the etire universe, then one could determine by cause-and-effect the exact future actions of each of these particles and the relations between them. Thus, one could predict the precise future of every aspect of the universe.

Of course, it is impossible to calculate these figures. Even a 100% efficient computer (which is probably impossible anyway) could not calculate more than itself in this matter, and I'm not entirely sure if it could even do that. But in theroy I would think it does mean you can't have the alternate realities of the other two referred to by the above quoted text.

(P.S.
Keep in mind that there may be some flaw in my logic that I am unaware of; I'm not exactly a master of physics.)

I read about an experiment that could be done 'once' we create a sentient computer that suggest that if we were to have this computer watch events, then crete a quantum event of some sort and have the computer watch to see if each posibility becomes a reality in its own dimension has an out come of the choice the computer would be able to notice that it sawthe splut happpen. but if you asked which universe were in or anything about the actuall result it would only have one set of numbers for one dimension but before that it would be prove that there was more than one dimension created from that event.
Though uninterestingly normal life choices wouldnt create splits in reality and create new universes, just the little quantum events.

Though i dont believe in other universes in any physical sence, and if it were true and you went to one of the other dimension im sure your mind and everything would just conform to that universe and youd be none the wiser of what happen, asuming that you and it dont just anhialatre each other on contact.
And theres the 'other end of the wormhole' stuff but firstly he was proven wrong on most of his theories, and secondly nothing could survive that trip most likely.

And what would you do in other dimesnions, its not like in the one next door you be sarounded by flying pigs, dragons and giant mechas. Its one of those universall norms that things in the universe are basically all made of the same stuffs, all dimensions strech on and back an one. so if there were other parrelel worlds to venture into they probably be just as boring and dull with countless billions of people wishing something interesting would come through from another dimension that would rescue them from there own boredom. etc...

Maybe there is, well, that's what I believe. I can't exactly justify myself for saying so, but when you think about it, there are indeed a lot of unexplainable phenomena happening all around us that even science with the most advanced technology could not explain.

Re: Your opinion about other dimension...

Well, I'm not much to talk about things that can't be proven, so I'll stick to speaking what I truly believe.

To Daphne:
The existance of a new macroscopic dimension (inaccessible by us) is pretty hard, since several laws of physics such as Newton's gravitational law and Coulomb's law work according to three dimensional spaces (cos' of the dependence of r^-2, particular do spherical surfaces). In the string theory, those 10 dimensions were to be very small, in such a way that most of them aren't visible to us...

About the electron in the double slit experiment, that happens cos the electron acts as a wave, and not like a particle, in the same sense a wave could pass through both slits; it's the particle wave-duality, not some new dimension showing up.

Here's a nice place with graphics to see Young's Experiment.
http://www.colorado.edu/physics/2000/schroedinger/two-slit2.html

To Ulto Leif:
That's the deterministic theory... However, even in deterministic systems, chaotic behaviours can truly make it impossible to predict an outcome. That's a numeric problem, of course, so if we were to have a computer that was able to do the math, according to determinism we should be able to predict the future...
Which isn't realistic, since such a computer will never show up, and isn't very likely either, since after quantum mechanics we stopped talking about a 100% sure prediction...
