DDR Extreme 2 vs DDR Ultramix 3

Which are you looking forward to?
If you haven't looked into them yet, you should. The PS2 is finally getting online support and the Xbox is getting a new 'freestyle' mode among others. They look good.

I'm looking forward to Extreme 2, since im 100% anti-Xbox. I think the online support is an interesting concept, but the thing that concerns me is, are people going to play fairly?

The main point of online play would be to play against other people while using a mat, right?

Well then theres always going to be those bastards who play using the controller and think that they're so good since they can beat everyone.

And then theres just the obnoxious people in general who actually are really good playing on the mat and are convinced that they're SO awesome and wont shut up about it.

It's people like that who totally kill the fun for the seriously dedicated players who are just looking for a fun match and whatnot.

That's the downside to online play to me... and if things keep up like that, how long would people actually use the online play capabilities?

Anyways. I'm totally stoked for the game since I could use some more songs to dance to. Max1,2,and EXTREME get boring after awhile.

That's pretty much how I see it as well, not that I could play it online anyway (except of course, at my friend's house). Despite my grudge against the Xbox, I am looking forward to trying the freestyle mode, which supposedly plays a song without steps and judges you on how well your footsteps stayed on beat and how creative you were with your patterns and stuff. It could be awesome if they do a good job, but I fear that it will be a complete waste of time.

Freestyle mode sounds like it could be pretty fun, provided that they do a good job with it. If it's any good I'll just mooch off my friends to play.

And the same goes for me. (I don't have an xbox.)

Yep! I think Xboxes are evil so I refuse to purchase one... ^^ That's what friends are for, right?

I guess, although I don't hate the Xbox, I just resent that it got halo and not the ps2 or the GC and saved itself from deserving demise.

In the Groove for the win. =P

But out of the two, I'd stick with DDR Extreme 2. I never really enjoyed Ultramix very much, because the song list wasn't that great. The one thing that turns me off about Ultramix, is that I don't want to buy another pad for the xbox. I'm happy with my ps2 pads, and the ps2 just seems to be a more natural pick for DDR anyway. ^^;

I also hate the note skin in Ultramix. Why couldn't they just stick with the standard one we are all used to instead of making some other gay one. It is to blame, along with the poor song list, for the suckyness of Xbox ddr.
