where to find anime: animesuki. P.S.: do NOT watch dubs, watch the original japanese otherwise you are getting entertainment from the point of view of an underpaid translator instead of brilliant highly payed and highly skilled expert japanese voice actors. |

From what I've read, the Japanese voice actors and animators are pretty underpaid themselves. They may be brilliant and talented, but it's not necessarily an easy life. Quality definitely can vary, no matter what side of the Pacific they're working on. Personally, I feel that people should listen to whatever they enjoy more - which in my case is original language with subs, but I'm not able to tell people not to listen to dubs, esp. since they're getting better & better these days. Just my $0.02. |

I use 'a' DC++ (direct connect plus plus) client (search google for 'dc++ sourceforge' and a download link should pop up). It's a basically a p2p program but the users are not all the same 'space'. There are 'hubs' or 'room' you can enter (if you meet the requirements, or else you get kicked out :p) and you can search/download/upload files in that hub. You can join multiple hubs at the same time and download basically anything if you know your way around the hubs (so not just anime). Usually the files you can get there lag only a few minutes to most recent/popular torrents since most people in DC++ use Bittorrent like programs aswell. As for bittorrent, I would recommend: - www.animesuki.com - www.downloadanime.org and maybe - a.scarywater.net you could also take a look at www.suprnova.org for recent movies/games/apps I prefer DC++ since you have better controll over you actual download/upload ratio. My 2 cents ;) --Jarudin-- |

I'm suprised no one mentioned Mirkx yet. My favourites are Mirkx and Baka-Updates. Both of these supports RSS feeds as well. AnimeSuki stays truer to what fansubs was originally about by only listing nonlicensed series. Boxtorrents, as mentioned, hosted many full licensed (at least in the US) series but otherwise, it was extremely lacking and I hardly went there at all. For manga, even though this was not requested, try Manga Jouhou/manganews, Baka-updates manga, and Daily Manga (though the last one is in french.) I'm guessing that it is ok to list website names that has black and white illegal items readily available since this has been done in this thread already (IE: boxtorrents and suprnova). If not, I'll just edit the post out or a mod can. The only other place I really get anime from is newsgroups. The use of newsgroups dropped off quite sharply after the advent of BitTorrent but newsgroups, if you have access, is a much faster alternative. Normally, if you want larger files (gbs worth), it is better to use newsgroups over BT in my opinion. ~Nobody |

I use torrents remotely listed at Narutofan.com, Boxtorrents, or eMule for newer files. For bulk anime, I have access to 4TB on streamload from e-mails. |

I haven't heard many offers for direct d/l or HTTP. A great compilation website would be www.freewebs.com/animedownloadlist/ It offers links to sites that offer bitTorrent, direct d/l and other forms of sharing. But...this is really not ideal for 56kers. |

Well, since BitTorrent is really the only way to go, besides anime suki, a.scarywater.net, and occasionally suprnova, which have all been mentioned, there are a couple of other places I go for my torrents: For raws, I head to WeGetRaws. They dont have a large selection, but the stuff that's there is hard to find anywhere else. I'm not to sure about the accuracy of the tracker is, Ive downloaded a number of things that the page said "zero seeds". Got Woot has a large selection of popular licensed and unlicensed anime. But of course, you are only going to use it for the unlicensed stuff, right? And last but not least, if you are looking for entire albums of new stuff coming from Japan, although they are currently down as of the time of this posting for matinence, Nippon Sei is the place for you to go. However, they only keep their tracker running new stuff, so if your looking for that hard-to-find album from a couple of years back, you might have better luck on Suprnova.org. If any of you know where else to download entire albums off of BitTorrent, post and tell me. Greatly appreciated.

I have too many problems with torrents. I DLd a 1.6gb file and it took forever. Is there anyway to speed up a torrent to get faster DLs or another way to DL aty a faster speed. |
