I have mixed feelings.

On the one hand, I dislike in RPs when the Mary-Sues hang all over the boy they like and attract all the attention.

On the other hand, I know you can't have a character with at least two to three Mary-Sue qualities. Believe me, I've tried... and they were all dubbed 'boring' in a fanfiction or were just plain ignored in an RP! And theeen... whenever I do try to create a good OC fanfic- to satisfy the fantasies (you can't deny that every fan has one or two, canon or not) of the fans- I always get flamed for NO REASON. I read over the so-called 'constructive criticism' and see nothing that's going to help me. Only the general definition of a Mary-Sue, and a bunch of insults shoved into my face. And even if (I say if because, thus far, I've only gotten flames, not constructive criticism) I do get constructive criticism, what am I supposed to do? Forget my character? Forget the plot I worked so #######- finding loopholes and manipulating them to my liking? Forget all my ideas? Uh... no. Just no.

There are just characters that don't mix with your personality. Some OCs I dislike because their personality is just that of the kind I don't favor. I can't go around calling them Mary-Sues just because I don't like them. Take, for example, Kagome from InuYasha. She annoys me to no end. But then again, other people like her. What do I do, hmm? I just shut up and dislike her in silence, with the exception of a few discussion with fellow Anti-Kagome people. That's all. I don't go to every fanfiction with Kagome in it and review, "MARY-SUE!" even though... she is one... just a published one.

And also... I noticed that most of the haters are shounen-ai/yaoi fans. Or die-hard fans of a particular pairing. Okay, I'm fine with canon shounen-ai/yaoi. I am. But if it's something fan-made... like Satoshi and Daisuke from D.N.Angel, for example, I most likely won't read it. Occasionally I do. Anyway, it's mostly those kinds of fans that flame me. And that makes me angry.

I actually saw this one girl with "Flame a Mary-Sue story, make the world a better place" in her profile AND in every author's note of her story. That's just evil. And you know what? The majority of her stories/favourite stories were yaoi/shounen-ai.

What if I went around flaming every fan-made shounen-ai/yaoi story, just because I don't favor it? Same goes for the die-hard fans of a pairing... like, maybe, Daisuke and Riku from D.N.Angel. I don't like Riku. Her personality wasn't put together well enough, in my opinion (no offense to any fans, m'kay? ^^). Anyway, I'm not overly obsessive over how much I dislike the pairing. I still think their love scenes are cute, I just don't prefer them (MIO AND DAISUKE! WEWT!). Anyway, I don't go around flaming every DaisukexRiku story and say something like "Write a MioxDaisuke fanfiction and make the world a better place."

So really... I guess I'm all for Mary-Sues... in fanfictions, that is. I mean, if it's fanfiction... I don't have to read it. I simply press the Back button and search for another, better OC fanfiction. In RPs, however... that's an entirely different story. Those idiots who hang over every boy, have limitless power they don't know about or do know about, and, when they don't get the attention they want, they do something retarded. Example (This actually happened to me. Pity me. NOW. xD):

Okay, so I had a pretty plain character for a D.N.Angel RP. We were all at the pool, and the person playing Daisuke was flirting with my character. Okay, cool. I just go on RPing. Then they allow this Mary-Sue to join. She's going on about how her body's moving so lithely through the pool, and how her wet hair is sparkling, and how she feels so lonely swimming by herself and wished "that someone really nice would come swim with her." Well, Daisuke paid no attention to her. Nobody did, really. Being nice, I made my character smile at her as she swam by. But then she goes and types, "Mary-Sue was distracted, smiling back at Reimyou, and knocked into her, bumping her head on Reimyou's. She went underwater and held her head. The pain was so great so couldn't think. After a few seconds, she tried to swim up, but her toe was caught in the drain. She started to drown."

And then everyone was suddenly focused on her. I didn't mind so much at first, but then whenever things started settling down and Daisuke and I or Satoshi and I would start talking, she'd do something again. And sometimes, she did the same thing over and over. Like... falling down and scraping her knee to the point where it starts bleeding.

-sigh- THAT'S the kind of Mary-Sue I dislike. The RolePlay Mary-Sues.

Dreaming of the stars on high that speak to me in secret sighs...
