I'd say short storyline but high in detail. Well, it's the better of the two because although the story is short, I'll understand what the story is about compared to a very long storyline whose point I'll be confused of.

I like both of them but I think I choose the first one. Of course, the best is long storyline with high detail.

BTW, nice signature you have, FTY! I like that!

I think that a lower quantity of episodes with high detail is much better.
Like Furi Kuri, how ever confusing, you still get the whole (amazing) story in 6 episodes.

I like the short series that are really well thought out. Quality. I guess that's why I stopped watching Inu Yasha...it went ON and ON and seemed to be the same thing over and over.

I love quality over quantity, but some series lose the balence. I think 25-50 is good for an anime. (Trigun is on the shorter side, with Gundam wing leaning to the longer side)

Quality for me...and a little bit of Quantity...
Quality is the best thing for either short or long animés...
Quantity is the best for the animés with GOOD Quality. It's only good if the animé has a great plot, story and music

^_^v PEACE OUT!

I actually do like both, if the quality for the long story line is only a bit choppy, I could handle that

nah. i prefer both of them. because if you choose only one you can't accomplish anything. but the fact is i like quality more than quantity.

It depends upon the one who's working and watching it right?

Well, animes with long episodes want the viewers to see the events slowly to have this excite. And the shorter ones really want to share the story as they can...

But some animes with long episodes have more boring story...

"I think 25-50 is good for an anime."

Couldn't agree more. Quality first, then quantity. But at the same time, no point having a beautifully drawn anime that sucks you in, then ends just as you are learning to appreciate it! Those 16 episode animes just bother me...

For me, it really depends... I basically noticed that if the anime is a shorter series, the quality is better, which *usually* ranges from 13-24 episodes (Gravitation, Pretear, Fruits Basket, X, Fullmetal Panic...) Fullmetal Alchemist was long, but the art was AWEsome throughout the whole show. I would have to choose quality, too.

But what pissed me off was that Gundam Wing's animators all admitted that they could've done better job on the show but couldn't because they were too busy. It was a good show, but sometimes, throughout a few episodes I had to grimace at how much they exaggerated Duo's baby fat, or something...

I never judge an anime by its quantity.. for me its all quality for any anime. In my opinion, the length of the show has nothing to do with how good it is. However, the Quantity has to be long enough for the Quality to fit. Best animes find a balance between them.

Ex. Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuiokuhen (OVA) only 4 episodes and its probably one of the best anime ever made.

Then theres FMA: another asome show weighing at 51 episodes.

Gankutsuou: another personally favorite with 24 episodes.

Too long ones: Full Moon Wo Sagashite almost no story development for more than half of the show and its only good after the plot twist, kinda waste of time to watch fillers for 30 some episodes of the show.

Well the Quantity vs Quality topic isnt exactly controversial... its like common sense and applies to everything and i doubt anyone would side with quantity over quality
