True Fan vs Uber Otaku

As you most likely noticed below there is a thread on the true anime fan. Well most of us who joined this site must be or else we wouldn't waste our time seeking anime music. What I seek is the elusive uber fan. People rummored to have seen every epsoide in a plethora of languages, then backward to check for sublimnal messages. Fans who comb the furthest reaches of ebay for the most obscure memorabelia. Does such a creature exist? Is this taking otakudom to far?

i dont know if this counts but my ex girlfreinds brother knew the lyrics of every gundam song and his only decorations in his room were models, posters, lunch boxes, etc.
trying is the first step towards failure

Yeah baka that does count. Hotaru and Rui, I agree with you, heck just the dvds alone of one fairly long series could drive anyone bank rupt, and putting forth the time to both watch them and hunt more goodies. I am not trying to say that this is a bad thing as long as the uber otaku knows that there is more to life than just one anime. There are thousands, don't limit your self!

aiy...scary...i love anime but i dunt haf to money to spend so...i cant do that but i never will cuz of school and many other stuff...but i noe this one grl who wants to be someone lyk that..kinda...though...she only limits herself on shoujo...anything else, she doesnt favor so i cant say she is an uber otaku...

well, there's my friend that freak about mecha anime esp gundam uc... the other day in classroom , he throw his pen into the teacher , and said "Ike!Fin Funnel!" then when he pissing , he said"Gettaaa , Beeaammmm!!" ,last when he drive his car , he said "(his name),(his car) , ikimaz!" (you only understand what im saying about, if you are mecha freak too)
kid these days doesn't know the difference between "true anime" and "anime for marketing purpose"

Uber Otaku??? I also agree. That really sounds scary! I also don't ever want to meet a person like that! I don't want to be called like that too! It's OK to be obsessed with anime or manga, just don't overdo it! ".....committment, attitude and discipline...the keys to your dreams"  |
