| has anyone heard about it?? if so.. is it safe to use it?? cause im scared that when I visit a network. i would get viruses and stuff.. so if you know anything pls. write... |

| IRC isnt very safe, there are always one or two guys trying to give others viruses and hack their computers. But if you are carefull, you dont need to worry ^^ you can only get a virus if you download it from someone on the IRC. Oh and you should get a firewall(if you dont have any!!) for your computer, so that they cant hack your computer ;) |

| IRC is the main mode of communication for my coworkers and I, and thus far I haven't had any trouble from it. |

i think it's not safe. it has tons of virusses ready to eat your computer. my suggestion is don't play to much irc. Btw Suki-Chan, Irc is a place to chat with everyone with your computer without use the javascript content, you can download too(that's what i hear) it is recently known as "MIrc" |

irc is good and safe just dont aceept files from strangers And you can get anime warez etc if you know where to search Why don't we creat a irc channel somewhere to chat I know a good empty network: irc.bigbluecup.com from the ags crew o/ |

A Gendou A.Music channel wouldn't be a bad idea. @Suki-chan: IRC - Internet Relay Chat is a type of chat room program that can also be used to distribute files. Many fan-sub groups distribute their releases this way, instead of using torrents (or both). |

Ano..I tried to d/l things from IRC, but still I just can't. For certain reasons, I don't know how to use IRC and download things.

Yes Gendou, but when was that? The site is much bigger now than it was less than a year ago. The time may soon come when you can successfully maintain an IRC channel. |

@atemu_mana -the websites usually offers step-by-step instructions in their IRCs. some downloads are usually handled by IRC bots and commands are usually listed in their sites... just don't forget to read their rules or you might get kicked out of the room In IRC...you should just be aware of files that you receive from the users... there's a function from IRC that blocks certain files that are being sent to you... never turn off that function... if you do need to turn it off... never forget to activate it again... and if you want to be sure... then scan after download... IRC is pretty safe as long as you turn off auto-accept files, so you don't automatically download a file if someody tries to send you something (maybe its a virus). Although I never had that happen to me in the many many years I've been using IRC.
