A Girl in Gaea Question

I have a question about the Vision of Escaflowne OVA A Girl in Gaea, but I have to WARN THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE. This thread might CONTAIN SPOILERS in the answers. There. Now, with that been said, I ask my question...

Who do you guys think is the REAL Tsubasa no Kami (Wing Goddess)? Is it Hitomi or Sora? And please don't be shy to explain why. :D

I've always assumed they were the same person.

I believe that Hitomi is different from Sora. Hitomi came from Earth, and (at least in the movie) she didn't have that much psychic power. Sora was Folken's seeress, and she was half-human (she had ears like Merle).

I asked this question because the movie didn't really make it clear who the real Tsubasa no Kami was. Even though Folken and everybody else assumed that Hitomi was the goddess, everything Sora said was thoroughly applicable to her as well.

In an interview with the staff of Escaflowne, the director said that they made the connections vague on purpose, because they wanted the viewers to make the judgment as to who the real goddess was on their own.

Hitomi. She had wings in the end...although they weren't really real. Like you said, Sora was just Folken's seer. My opinion is weak, but Hitomi is connected to Escaflowne right?

Yes, Hitomi was connected to Escaflowne, but in the end Escaflowne flowed into Sora, not her...

The series is VERY different from the movie. The movie is in a way, a complete retelling of Escaflowne. Sometimes viewers make the mistake of saying how much different the movie was from the series, but that's because they are. They shouldn't be compared to one another (although sometimes it can't be helped ^^)

I recommend you to watch it; it's highly entertaining and the designs were a few notches higher (in my opinion) than from the series... Although they did look a bit older... ^_^;
