How do you merge .srt files to a video?

Yeah so the title says it all. I've been trying to merge an .srt file to a video using File Factory, but whenever I play the video no subtitles appear. Anybody here who can help me with this problem?  |

Because I hafta put said video to a relatives ipad. They need subs because they can't understand the language of the show they're watching. LOL so yeah XD. |
