WARNING:This RP is a novel type RP,in which I will allow minimal grammar and spelling mistakes(No short cuts please). Please also use
correct capitalization and punctuation.

Setting:
-Post Apocalyptic Medieval Earth

Plot:
-150 years ago the earth was ravaged by a war between the anti-mage faction known as Rune Knights and the mage faction
known as Libra. Little is known of the war since those who survived mostly kept to themselves and never told a
soul as to what the reason for the war was.The war left the population of the Earth down to 5% and left most of
the land was uninhabitable by humans. The surviving humans went underground for 40 years. After coming back to the
surface the human population went up by 20%.

Our story starts out at the small town of Melodia, the town of songs.A small town with a population of 150 persons,
this particular town was one of the first towns to be developed as it's location is good. Surrounded by grass lands,
and a clear stream of water at the other side, the location provided people with the basic needs of a person.Every
year this particular town celebrates a festival called "The festival of the Harvest" celebrating the first harvest.

The town is equipped with the basic facilities such as blacksmith, armory,a town hall,a tavern/inn,and an adventurers
guild where people from foreign towns go to if they want to help with local problems of the town.

Noctis,a young man who has silver hair, blue eyes and is one of the farmers sons dream of being an adventurer and he practices his swordsmanship
everyday with a stick. His father disapproves of this as his father wants him to take over the farm when he was
too old,so Noctis practices in the forest near the town every morning.

However, that morning after practice he looked up and saw a storm far away that was getting closer.

"I gotta get back home an warn my folks." he said as he rushed off back to his house.

Characters
For this RP there will be no character sheet.Basically it's like when you're reading books.Just include the details of your character
in your first post.No need to go into detail at once. It's all about character building in this RP.And seeing as my plot is very very incomplete it leaves out other important details for us to fill in.
HOWEVER,even if there is no character sheet I WILL NOT TOLERATE GOD-MODDING. I cannot stress enough how much I hate people who try to be "Cool and Mysterious,But omnipotent" in RPs.
Listen people, this RP isn't your usual RP where you get to flaunt your super powers around like 1000 enemies with a single move.

I would also like to point out that I would like you to be very detailed in your posts. No one liners and such.I mean come on people, how old are you?
Please include details of what your character sees, hears, smells, etc. when necessary.

This RP is all about developing your characters friendships with others, and the translation of your emotions into him/her while having fun doing it.
It may seem corny and all that but I'm not asking everybody to join up. I don't care if I end up with 3 or 50 persons in this RP,as long as the conversations
between characters have substance.

What you guys should know about this RP:
-No electricity
-There are animals contrary to popular belief. They have lifestock. Meaning horses and horse drawn carriages exist.
-No 'steam powered' stuff.(Think Victorian era)
-The whole world is ruled by monarchy. But it is unknown where the capital is since there is no world map drawn yet.The monarchy just sends out riders for tax collection.
-Also as I said THIS IS A NOVEL-TYPE RP.So use novel-type when posting. Also use first person when talking, seeing as that character is,for all intents and purposes, you.
-If you want your character to be friends with another players character(like childhood friends or what have you,you can even be rivals),just PM the concerned party.I'll leave it up to you guys.Just isolate my character for now with your characters seeing him as the 'weird farmers kid'.
-I can't think of anything else.If you guys have questions, feel free to PM me.
-The next person can start out their post after this.

Credits:Well,I can only credit illust for inspiring me to make this RP.I really liked her RP 'sheltered' but sadly it wasn't finished. You guys should check that out if you have time.

I'm joining.

Schwarz walks through the Forest by the village. Kicking rocks along the road without any real attention to his surrounding. It's a good day, some will even said that it's a perfect day. The sun shines bright, the sky is blue and everything else seems good too. But Schwarz does not pay attention to any of them. His face looks like he's thinking hard, and his mind is as dark as a thunder cloud. His feet meets a big rock. Almost tripped, he cursed. Some bird pass with happy songs, but somehow he found it distracting, even though usually he would be happy to hear it.

he then pass a small river. There, he stopped and throw the stone he's been kicking to the river. He stopped for a while, thinking about where should he go, then jumped over the small river and continue walking through the forest.

I sat on a large rock next to a stream as I was breathing heavy. It was a few minutes after I saw the storm clouds and I decided to wash my face and regain my breath.I had been training for almost two hours now and I was already tired.

"Phew..I really gotta build up stamina." I said to nobody in particular as I looked at my so called "Sword" which was only a long stick I found on the ground.I shook my head and picked up the "sword" once again and headed for the general direction of our house. As I walked trough the forest,I used the "sword" as a walking stick.Heck,it was a good disguise for it if I do say so myself. My dad doesn't approve of me doing swordsmanship. He thinks it's only meant for people who have a death wish.

However,I wanted to be an adventurer. Those like in the books I read as a child. Those who fought dragons and demons, those who slew creatures from the depths and discovered hidden treasures. However, like I said,my father disliked them.

I stopped and sighed, wondering if what I was doing was worth the trouble.Sure there were real warriors and knights in the realm, however few they were. But they had the money to buy real armor and weapons. That was one other thing. We didn't have much money in the first place. No way I could buy myself a real sword.

Heck,I don't think I could even fend off my dad with this stick. Then there's also the training. All I did every morning was swing the stick around, imagining myself some invisible enemies.

"Looks like this is goodbye, old friend." I said as I looked at the worn out stick in my hands and shook my head.Time to face reality then.I was just a farmers son without any means of becoming a real warrior.I led the sword-stick fall to the ground and started to walk.I know it was just any normal stick you'd find, but hey,it was still like losing the only partner I ever had.

I was about to reach the edge of the forest when I noticed something amiss. The forest was unusually quiet.I looked around and I saw a figure walking in the forest, obviously pre-occupied with something. My instinct told me to,slowly and silently as I can, crouch down and hid behind a tree and wait for the figure to go away.

Let's see how the story progresses...

------------

The morning that day was beautiful as well.
The sky was all nice and clear, the sun was high and bright... but there weren't any bird flying above the town.
Even though it was a morning perfect for farming and hunting but all the farmers and hunter were all on the street.

They were applying reinforcement onto the windows and doors of their homes.

This was not a strange phenomenon but a normal reaction through their experiences... and from their experiences they could tell, just by looking at the clouds, a storm was coming.

"Phew..." The Inn-keeper wipes the sweat off his sweat. "This will do."
He smiled as he was satisfied with his progression so far in reinforcing his windows.
"Alright!" He rolled up his sleeves and continued his way to another window. "Let's get started with the others."

Just as he lifts up a plank of wood, a cheerful voice calls out to him.

"Hey, Old-man!" It was a voice of a woman. "Needs some help over there?"

"Haha! There's no need, Miss Adventurer." He replied while looking up. "And isn't calling me an 'Old-man' a bit too harsh?"

He was looking up not to watch the sky or anything but to look at the black-robed woman leaning against the wall on the balcony of his inn.

"Well, that is the truth." The woman grinned as she enjoyed playing words with the Inn-keeper."And truth hurts."

"Ahem!" After fake coughing, the Inn-keeper added. "This is man's work so it not a game for young ladies like you."

"Heh..."

"Hahaha!"

After he successfully countered the woman's harsh words, the Inn-keeper was satisfied as he walks off to continue his work while laughing.

*-*-*-*-*

"Heh... what a 'young' Old-man..."

I really do enjoy talking to elders like the Inn-keeper.
They are all around the age when they should retire but here in this town I could see them brimming with energy.

"Melodia... was it?"

It's not a bad name for a town like this.
The whole town was surrounded by nature and more importantly, it was very peaceful.

"Well, since I have nothing better to do then maybe this would help in rise their spirit."

I took out a white ocarina, which was made from a teeth of a carnivorous beast, and placed it against my lips.

I played my most favorite piece (and the only piece I know) as I watched the storm clouds approaching the town.

Schwarz went through the forest, and has found another stone to be kicking through the journey. He has entered the part of the forest that he has never entered before, but he felt that he's not ready yet to go back, and there's a little game trail left there, so it must be safe - he decided - and went through.

The game trail ended not long after, but he didn't see any reason why he should stop. I don't see dangerous animals, or anything scary he thinks so, keep going won't be a problem.

Wrong, he was. That moment the wind blow hard. suprised him, as he didn't actually pay attention to anything. The sky is now dark, sign of a big storm. His face turned pale for a moment, then changed back to the grim expression from before. He looked around, searching for anything might be able to protect him from the storm. Nothing. But then he remembered that an old man in town once told him and other people that deep inside the forest, there actually a building - ruins from the past, said the old man.

Schwarz looked at the sky, judging that the storm still have a couple hour before getting really bad, then looked behind, judge the way to the village. After judging that he can't make it to the village, he went deeper to the forest. Searching for the ruins from the past.

A person I saw just walked on without a care in the world.I wondered what he would be doing in the forest all alone. After all the festival was in the other direction. There was nothing there except maybe the ruins I accidentally saw during one of my "training sessions".

I stood up slowly and looked at the strangers retreating back and shrugged.I was just being my old paranoid self.I took one last look at the stranger and started my way home again.

A few silent minutes of walking,I reached the edge of the forest. The wind was blowing harder and it was cooler then usual days.I took it as a sign of the coming storm.

"I just hope this storm doesn't ruin the festival. It's probably one of the few events I always look forward to." I said to nobody in particular as I was walking towards the little town infront of me.

I looked at the sun and judged the time.

"Almost time for lunch eh?" I said as I saw that the position of the sun was almost at it's apex..And I also started to smell the food that was being cooked by the various houses. Then my stomach started to growl.I just realized that I didn't eat breakfast that morning in order for me to escape my dad.I was in for an earful when I get home.

As I reached the town I saw the familiar houses and familiar faces. The majority of the houses were build with stone and had wooden roofs. Some had chimneys, others were two stories high.It was basically a mismatched place. But the atmosphere was generally homely, warm and welcoming.

I passed by the smithy and peered inside. The smith was at the forge as usual but he looked outside and greeted me.I greeted back and resumed my way to our farm. The people I passed by greeted me as well.On my way home I decided to kill a little more time by taking the longer route.Heck,I wasn't in a hurry to get scolded.

I passed by the inn, which was full seeing as there were visitors and almost everybody came there for lunch, primarily because of the waitress but the food there was great. After passing by the inn and the town center,I came by the town hall, where there was usually a line of people going for complaints. The town hall also doubled as the Adventurers guild so there were a few strangers with weaponry here and there looking at the job bulletin board.I looked with envy as I saw real swords on the hips of the adventurers.

"Ahh well..you can't have it all." I said as I looked at the swords with envy and resumed my way home.

I passed by the library, which was usually empty during this time but I saw a few persons here and there. Then came the merchant street, where you can buy and sell bits and bobbles for everyday life. The houses started to thin at the end of this street, which gave way to the farms.I started to sweat as I neared the our house.I almost reached the door when the door opened suddenly.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MORNING?!" My dad suddenly said as he stood at the doorway, blocking my entry.

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS,YOUNG MAN?! I EXPECT YOU WERE OUT IN THE FOREST ALL MORNING DOING THAT SWORDWORK OF YOURS AGAIN!" he said to me as I drew a bit closer.

"Er..No,I wasn't.I was..uhh..Helping around town.Look,I don't even have the stick!" I said to him as I showed him that I was empty handed.

"Hmp! Don't try and lie to me,boy!" he said as he went back inside the house.I came in and I could still hear him fuming. As I started to sit down my dad looked at me again and said "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

"er.sitting down..I guess?" I said with a bit of uncertainty.I think I shouldn't have said that.

"SITTING DOWN? OH NO,YOUNG MAN! You'll be the one to prepare our lunch today." he said to me as he dragged me to the kitchen.

"You've been gone all morning and still expect me to cook for you?The nerve..." my dad said as he left me in the kitchen.Well,it wasn't as worse as I expected.Kitchen duty was fine by me.

I picked up a knife and started to cook our lunch while humming to a tune that was in my head.

"Haa... What are they doing now..." The black robed woman sighed as she watched the people on the street with her grey eyes.

"What? You can't understand it even though you are looking with your own eyes, Lesto?" A black haired man stepped onto the balcony next to Lesto's. "Isn't it obvious that they are having a festival?"

"The things I don't understand are why they are having a festival right now and that idiotic brain of yours."

"Hey, isn't the last retort a bit too harsh?"

"I mean weren't they preparing for the storm this morning?"

"Well, today's The Festival of the Harvest". It's a once a year thing." The black haired man took out a flyer introducing the town's event. "They are also lots of visitors here to enjoy this event so they can't just cancel it or postpone it."

"I see, then I shall enjoy this while it last..."

Having said that, Lesto pulled her hood off revealing long straight brown hair. After seeing that, the black haired man suddenly placed his hand above his eyes and started looking around as if he was looking for something.

"Huh, that's strange." He then stopped his vision at Lesto and then asked. "Sorry, young lady. Did you perhaps see my friend somewhere? She wears a black hooded robe just like yours."

"Beat it, Renku." Lesto sighed. "That joke lost it's novelty already."

"Ah... but really, whenever you take that hood off we always thought you were someone else."

"Is this 'Lesto' you know just a piece of hooded robe?" Lesto then loosen her pony tail. "I just need to get as much nutrients for my hair as possible."

Lesto was talking about sun bathing, but...

"Don't talk about your hair as if you are growing some plant?!"

"Then?" Lesto ignored Renku's retort. "What is it that you are going to tell me?"

"Oh, nothing really. Just wanted to ask your whether you want to come with my team to explore the ruin inside the forest."

"Ruin inside the forest?"

"Yes, my team members happened to get this info from the locals in the tavern."

"No, thank you. I wanted to enjoy this festival."

"Aw... that's too bad." Renku's shoulders dropped as he was disappointed. "Well, it can't be help since the festival is also attractive."

"Yep, and good luck with your dungeon exploring." Lesto then smirked. "Don't be like how I first found you guys."

"S-Shut up!"

Renku left while feeling embarrassed.

Well, it indeed was embarrassing during their first meeting.

A few days ago, Lesto, while dungeon exploring by herself, happened to find Renku and his team stuck in a spear trap awkwardly. It looks as if they were playing twister.

"Alright, there's still some time before the storm so let's go and enjoy this festival."

*-*-*-*-*

"Really, mayor?" A man wearing some kind of black suit was in front the mayor's desk. "Are you really not going to stop the festival until the storm comes?"

"Relax, Bossun."

"No, it's Boston! I'm not from that helpers club or anything!"

"Well, you see... A lot of people were looking forward to it..." Mayor feels like he was suffocating when being stared by the Head Guards, Boston. "And lots of preparations were done already so I wished the people would be happy if I do this."

"That will not last long before the storm!"

"But wasn't it you who ordered the town guards to help locals and reinforce the building to prepare for the storm?" Mayor wiped the sweat off his face. "Didn't you do that so the festival could start earlier?"

"I can't deny that but I also wish the festival could end earlier."

"That's something I can do." The Mayor took out a note and a quill. "But before I order the time for the festival to end, I need to calculate the time to get maximum profit just before the storm comes."

"THAT'S YOUR TRUE INTENTION, ISN'T IT?!"

*-*-*-*-*

It's past lunchtime but my stomach still feels empty.
I did buy some food, like baked corns and potatoes, but they end up not filling enough.
I looked at the inn and also the tavern but unfortunately there's still a long queue just to enter the building.

"Haa... So this is what festivals are... Hahaha..."

Not only the diners are full but also the street.

The people includes the locals, the tourists and also adventurers. Well, I suppose most adventurers I see over here are for errands or other jobs instead of enjoying the festival like me. The proof was there in the Town Hall, there are lines for complaints and so as the requests for the adventurers.

"What a busy day isn't it..." I looked down on the paper I got from Renku to know what stores there are. "Maybe I should go to the game corner for a while so the lines for the diners would decrease... oh?"

There are some stands that manage to catch my attention.

There's one game which allows me to throw knives and get a prize according to how much points I accumulated throughout the game.

(I've never thrown a knife before since daggers are so expensive if I have to buy a new one.)

There's also one game which allows me to catch fishes and frogs from a pond using a paper net.

(For some reason I feel very familiar with this game even though it will be my first time seeing it.)

There's a game where I could fight against an 'Invincible Swordsman' in which if I won against him in a duel, with wooden swords, I get a prize which will help me in exploring.

(...and the last bit of it seems interesting.)

If I managed to get the prize which some people want, one of them are allowed to challenge me for it.

(What a weird game with a weird rule... but it makes it interesting, right?)

Schwarz ran under the rain that typically be the 'opening' for a tropical storm. It's take him quite sometime before he can finally found the ruins, and some more time to get to it. He then running around the ruins, searching for some part of the ruins that is still good enough to shelter him from the rains. Finally he found a big building that only collapsed by a little. The building was covered from his eyes by the other part of the ruins. He ran to the nearest door of the building he can see, and pull it.

"Sreeech", the door hinges let out a weird noise, as it's rust resist Schwarz's attempt to open the door. Schwarz has already pull it hard, but the resistance given by the rusty hinges can't be called weak. It almost doesn't move at all. Schwarz looked at his surroundings. Something useful might be around. Nothing. He sighed and pull himself together to pull the door again.

I woke up in drenched in sweat. I looked around my surroundings and apparently I feel asleep in the living room. I was still breathing hard, but I closed my eyes and started to recall what I had been dreaming about. I could vaguely remember the color orange and a few shadowy figures that were moving about. But one I remember one thing that was clearer than the others. Somebody laughing.

I opened my eyes and looked around for the possible source.

"Dad? You there?" I said but nobody answered. It seems that he stepped out and I was alone in the house.I sighed and shook my head.

"It's just a dream." I said to the walls of the house as I stood up and looked outside. There was light rain falling now. The storm was not far off.

"I wonder where he want.." I said to myself as I started to close off all the shutters and started to put up the rainguards of the house.

This sounds fun!

"Sighhh...." as I looked up the ceiling of the town library.

"Come to think of it only a few people come here" I said to myself

Finishing the book I was reading, it was about the adventure of a Shepard in who had a dream about treasure and is in search for it, I put it back to the shelf and walked outside.

"Someday I would like to go on an adventure of a lifetime!" I thought.

I closed my eyes and sniffed around me and I caught the scent of a storm coming. So I quickly went home, and seeing this boy about my age walking and looking tired with a stick. He then suddenly dropped the stick, he looked like he was loosing a friend, then he went off.

I took the stick and swung it a few times.

"Ah! Too light." as I swung the stick from above my head and sliced down using my years of experience and practice with my dad.

Going back home, I saw mother cooking lunch.

"Oh Misha! You're back! Your dad is at the back practicing, call him and tell him lunch will be ready in 5 minutes." My mother said cheerfully as she always is.

I walked around the house and arrived at the back. I saw my father thrusting his sword forward with the grace of a dancer. I did not interrupt him, and watched him closely.

My father is an adventurer at his own sense, he helps the village out together with other adventurers that come into town.

When I saw him stopping, I shuffled to him and said,

"Lunch will be done in 5 minutes!"

"Ah Misha! Just in time. I want to teach you a new kind of technique"

"Stupid storm..."

I ended up in the food section of the festival, since the game section of the festival were closed down early due to the rain and the upcoming storm.
The food stands were still opened due to the fact they still need to cook the food they started cooking so nothing will be wasted. I was lucky to get into one of the lines otherwise I would be starving.

I also bought a strange parasol made of paper (polished in oil), the store keeper said it was from a culture different from ours, but it still works under such small rain.

After getting the food I began my way back to the inn as the festival comes to a close. I watched how the stand owners packed their stands and goods into their carts. This makes me sad watching how this festival ends since I didn't do much except getting food.

On the route back to the inn, I saw a familiar old man in the back of his house. This old man is quite famous among the adventurers as he helps the adventurers in various ways, such as improving their fighting skills or strategies in completing a certain mission.
Well, right now he looked like he was going to teach his kid something so it won't be nice to disturb.
But...

"..."

I gave him a nod, out of courtesy, when he noticed me as I walked by.

*-*-*-*-*

"Ha..." The Mayor sighed as he looked out his window as the rain became bigger. "I hate the rain... and of course the storm as well..."

"Indeed..." Hearing that, the Head Guard nodded in agreement."Rain are normally considered as bad mood and storm would just make matter worse by destroying crops and other buildings."

"..."

The Mayor was speechless due to depression and after seeing that the Head Guard decided to cheer him up.

"Look, Mayor. Rain isn't a bad thing." The Head Guard squeezed every bit of his brain cells to get something out of them. "They help the people with their crops and it could also wash things away such as dirt on the street (literally) or bad emotions (figuratively)."

"How could you say the rain is a good thing if they would wash things away?!"

"Eh?"

The Mayor had a angry face and the Head Guard was confused as he didn't know which part of his words offended the Mayor.

"From what you were saying the rain could wash good things away!"

(Ah... so it's that huh... guess I need to apologize for that...)

"Especially those profit from the festival..."

(OH MY GOD! THIS PERSON IS SO HARD TO DEAL WITH!)

*-*-*-*-*

Back in my room I stared out the window as I started to enjoy my meal.

The wind was a bit big but I wouldn't close my window shutter just for that, after-all enjoying the scenery as I eat my lunch was something I liked to do.

I looked at the wall that are connected to the wall of Renku's room. I could hear nothing from it so it would mean that he and his team are still out there.

"Haa... searching for a ruin under such weather... Is he stupid?"

Well, considering how I found them in the dungeon... I shouldn't be surprised.

"Let's just wait and see..."

I smiled a little for his stupidity and luck.

I quickly entered the inn as the rain was pouring down harder and harder as the time goes by.

"Whew..."

I exclaimed afterwards, having that I successfully sought a shelter away from the storm. My black priestess habit was partially soaked, and so is my dark purple hair, neatly tied with a with green ribbon on the ponytail. I sighed upon my misfortune, as well as the storm that ruined the harvest festival.

After brushing some of my thoughts aside, I took a seat at the bar table. The waitress, who is known for her beauty, approached me for an order.

"Ah, it's quite rare to see you here, my dear! What would you like to have?"

My gaze was then turned to the lovely waitress.

"A glass of water, please."

After hearing such a measly order, the waitress decided to... promote one of her special drinks.

"Hmm... I know you're the famous Ice Queen, but surely you could order our finely brewed mead to defrost yourself in this storm!"

My head hurts when I heard her saying my nickname. I know that I seldom talk and giving cold stares to almost everyone, but that does not mean I should be called by that term! Moreover, I do not drink alcoholic beverages and then go drunk like some useless wench. Plus, I got to take care of my image as a priestess, or else my parents will kill me.

"No, thank you." I responded back, with my usual tone. "I don't drink."

Knowing that she could not win my interests whenever I put my cold stare to her, the waitress gave up.

"Awwh~ You're no fun! Fine~ If cold water is your thing then..."

Moments later, my drink was arrived and I took a sip afterwards. Then I remembered that I have put quite an effort in preparing the festival. Carrying stuffs to various places, setting up the vendors, doing the prayers... Ugh. Now I know why the previous priestess wanted to find a replacement and I somehow ended up being the successor, darn it. Work, work and more work...

As my train of thoughts continued to run, I looked outside, and the storm has yet shows any signs of stopping. Of course, probably the Mayor was worried sick by now, as having a storm during the Harvest Festival is considered to be a bad omen. Me, as the priestess however, I guess it is just merely a coincidence plus misfortune. Heh, the priestess being less superstitious than the Mayor? What an irony...

My eyes started to close by itself, and the fireplace nearby was quite comfortable. Not long before I find myself leaning on the table, ready to take a nap...

"Did you notice that ponytail, purple haired girl at the bar table? That's Lyriel, our current priestess for the town. She was commonly known as the... Ice Queen..."

A man said, to the adventurer beside him. Apparently he looks like a tour guide for the adventurer.

"Oh! So that's the priestess! But why the villagers called her Ice Queen? She's a good looking person too. Or I say, comparable to the lovely waitress..."

The tour guide began to explain, in various reasons. Some are exaggerated, some are real which I did it myself. Despite that I able to listen in to their gossips about me, I decided to turn deaf. Really, if I were to correct everyone's facts about me then I would be very busy, and it would make me look like I am overreacting, and it results a chance for people to advantage on me, so no.

With that being dealt with, I quickly find myself in my own dream...

"Achoooo!!!...Ugh...."

I sneezed just as my father swung his sword and tried to cut my head clean.

I drew my sword just in time to block his attack, but what strength my father has. It took all my might just to parry back his attack.

This is how he trains me, teaches me something then a life and death (and bruises) simulation. These past 5 years he has taught me two styles: Iaijutsu (striking with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard)

and a style he made himself...that he has not named yet...

I don't know where this Iaijutsu came from but I prefer it over my dad's (Eru is his name) style because Iai is not flashy at all, just one movement and the enemy is incapacitated.

We continue like this for hours, soaked in sweat and rain. Him with his invented style and me with the iai.

And just as he was gonna teach me the last thing for today, he nodded to a beautiful lady with straight long brown hair holding a parasol of some kind....then back to work....

After training, I took a bath then ate my already cold lunch...then I decided to go outside and walk to the inn with my umbrella where I usually hang-out to look at adventurers.

"I'm gonna be one of them someday" I whispered to myself

The rain started to pour harder. The house got slowly darker and I went to the cupboard to find a lamp. As I rummaged through the cupboard I started to hear a voice which was near, yet so far away. Looking up,I looked around for the source of the noise.

"...Dad? Is that you?" I said to the darkness hoping against all hope that he answered.

"..ehehe..Must be my imagination.." I said with a small laugh as I went back to finding the lamp, but this time more quickly. As my hands found the handle,I heard it again this time. But this time,it was clear.I could clearly define that the voice came from a girl. And the sound was coming right next to me.I looked around again this time standing up and alert.

"I dunno who the hell you are,but stop playing around with me!Show yourself!" I said as I held the lamp.I slowly backed to the wall and started to reach out for the lighter.I found it and proceeded to light the lamp. As soon as it lit,I held it up high to see if I can find the source of the noise.I was braver with light there.I went to the next room, which was the living room.Nobody was there.

"What the hell? Am I going mad?" I said to myself as I put the lamp down in the middle of the table. It must've been the wind,I thought. How wrong I was...

________________________________________________________________________________
At the same time at the middle of the forest...

"It seems the plan is proceeding quite well,my lord." a voice said. Then a figure stood up from the shadows,A tall lean man hooded and cloaked.

"Are you positive that the boy is in town?" he said to the darkness.

"Aye,sir. We already took care of the guar-.." another voice answered but the figure cut him off."I don't care about his guardian. We need the boy.Kill the others."

"As you command, sire." said a lot of voices in unison and the darkness around the figure seemed to lessen.

"So it begins." he said as he turned around, went into the darkness and his figure melted into nothingness.

Schwarz's last attempt was like a miracle. He fell, but able to open the door. The rain just got bigger, he hurried inside. It's dark, but warm and dry, giving him a feeling of relief. Since the only light seemed from the outside he's reluctant to close the door, but a cold wind goes in and he hurrily close it. Darkness is better than get all wet and cold he thinks as he close it.

After he closed the door he sat on the stone floor, which somehow feels warmer than it should be. I must be really wet and cold from the rain, he thought, Well, that means getting inside is a good choice.

The floor is warm, so he open his wet clothes and lie down. He sighed as he felt the warmth going through every part of his body. He now start to be able to see a little, as a soft light starts to glow. At first he thinks it was because his eyes became used to the darkness, but it slowly glows brighter and soon he understand that it's something else. He moved his head around to find where it comes from and see a shape of a table on the right.

Inside the inn.. I found the priestess was there...She's called around here as the Ice Queen..

She looked like she was dozing off so I decided to look around...seeing only a few people here and there I decided to go outside again.

The rain was pouring hard, I only had my umbrella with me, but I decided to just circle around town.

"I love the rain!" While walked around

Looking at a puddle I saw my reflection, black eyes black hair and my dimple on the left cheek.

I lost myself in walking and realized a little too late that I was in the forest already. As the rain was falling down so hard, I decided to shade myself on a tall tree, I sat there and yawned. Then I fell asleep

I walked through the forest, I didn't bother covering myself from the rain as my hood covered my head. I travelled with Kyle, my twin brother. He went ahead of me, I can't see him. But a while after, I heard him calling for me.

"Lyle! Hurry up!"

I keep my mouth shut and walked straight towards Kyle. After a while, I saw him standing beside a sleeping kid under a shade of a tall tree.

"What's the matter now Kyle?" I asked him. There were no words spoken by him, he only pointed to the kid and looked at me as if asking me what to do with that.

"We might be approaching a nearby town, let's just wait for this kid to wake up and ask him to take us to the town." I answered with my best possible answer.

"We can just kidnap this kid and ask for ransom." Kyle suggested an idea that sounds idiotic to me, I smacked him on the head.

"You fool, we can't do that! What if that town is well armed? We'll die... Let's just stick to my plan okay?" I raised my voice to him.

"Okay, okay, chill, I was just kidding." He said.

Our scene might have made that kid woke up, I looked at the kid.

"Hey, mind if we ask you something?" I asked the kid.

"We're not going to do something bad here, really." Kyle stepped in.

"You're only convincing him to think we're bad Kyle." I replied to Kyle, then I looked back to the kid. "I'm Lyle, and that... is my idiot brother Kyle, we're just some travelling mercenaries, but let's get on to our question now shall we?. . . You're from a town nearby right? Mind taking us there?"

I'm pretty sure that the kid could tell us apart, I mean, even if we looks quite the same, brown hair, slicked back, and blue eyes... We are different, Kyle grows a moustache while I grows a beard. His weapon is an axe while my weapon is a sword. I'm smarter than Kyle, He's stronger than me. We're just different.

There was nothing else to do so I decided to get downstairs of the inn to kill some time.

I glanced over the place for a second to see if there is anyone I know and it's not surprising at all to see familiar faces here. A few adventurers I've meet from doing the same requests, the guide for the adventurer and also the Inn-keeper.
But one thing that surely surprised me was seeing the 'Ice Queen' or should I say the dark-purple haired priestess taking a nap on the bar table like a drunk would do.

(Well, I don't see any sign of alcohol usage here so I can't use it to blackmail her...)

After a few giggles that are only visible deep in my heart, I walked over the counter and took a seat down.

"Hey, Old-man!" I raised my hand up to catch the attention of the Inn-keeper. "'Bourbon, on the Rocks!'"

"Hmm..." The Inn-keeper looked puzzled as he made a thinking pose with his hand rubbing his chin. "I'm not sure where you learned that from but are you sure you are old enough to drink?"

"The heck you asking, ahn?!" I made an expression like I'm being annoyed and pointed my hand to him. "I'm definitely old enough to tell your kid about my adventurous stories I've been through!" And then I pointed to the black-haired person who was walking around the bar. "And I'm also old enough to do the same to that kid over there!"

"Really, Miss Adventurer?" He smiled a little as he shows signs of doubt in his expression. "But you are not even half my age..."

"Oh, so it means you are in your mid-40s, huh?" I gave some thought to it and then sighed. "Haa... hurry up and get yourself a wife already, you 'Old-boy'."

"Hey, where did this even come from?" The Inn-keeper looked surprised. "Actually where did you even learned this from?"

"I learned this in order to deal with inflexible Old-man like you." I extended by right hand straight out and begun swinging it up and down. "Now, hurry up."

"Huh?"

"The Bourbon..." I face-palmed with my other hand. "You really can't read between the lines, hey... no wonder you are still single..."

"Alright, alright... I give up, I can't win against you." The Inn-keeper raised both his hands and shook his hand back and forth.

Then, he walked to a barrel with a glass mug in his hand. He placed the mug underneath the tap of the barrel and turn on the tap. Red-brown liquid started to fill the mug and the white foams began to accumulate on top of the liquid. Just as the white foams reaches the top of the mug, the Inn-keeper turns off the tap and took out a knife to shave off the excessive foam from the mug. After that he placed the mug on the counter and gave it a little push with enough power to allow the mug to reach in front of me.

I extended my hand to catch the now-filled mug.

"There's your 'Bourbon', Miss Adventurer." The Inn-keeper gave me a smile with a prideful look on his face which indicates that this alcoholic drink is something to take note of.

I picked it up and put in between the light and myself. Then I placed the mug just beneath my nose so I could smell it. After that, I take a sip of the alcohol.
The taste was satisfying, even though I noticed the alcohol the Inn-keeper gave isn't Bourbon but it does have a Bourbon taste.

(Just as I thought, it's wheat wine.)

The wheat wine also tastes sweet which makes it even tastier.

(Maybe he used some sweet oranges, lemons and golden raisins to produce such sweet taste.)

"Alright, this will do!" I took another sip before I stood up and walk towards the table where the Ice Queen is.

"Huh?" The Inn-keeper failed to comprehend my action. "W-What are you doing?"

"Hm, why are you asking?" I placed the unfinished mug of wheat wine on the Ice Queen's table. "I just wanted to see the face of the so-called 'Ice Queen' when she finds an unfinished alcohol in front of her."

"Wait, so the reason why you ask me for Bourbon was actually just for this?!"

“Don’t you think it’s worth it if there’s a chance to see a different expression of our ‘Ice Queen’?”

The Inn-keeper placed a hand on top of his face which is looking up, thus making an 'Oh my God' pose. "I even gave you one of my best wines..."

"Whether they are good or bad," I grinned. "They will all end up being used as prank tools by me."

“Ahahaha! That’s our Lesto.” The adventurer guide laughed loudly as he finished his bottle of whiskey. “Just what goes on in your head?“

“There’s no need to read too much into it…” The Inn-keeper took down a bottle of whiskey from his shelf and threw it to the adventurer guide. “Idiocy is contagious.”

I laughed as I took a seat at the bar counter and put my black hood on.

(I'm dying to see what face she will make if she thinks she's been drinking since she’s too tired to think... kukuku...)

*-*-*-*-*

"Damn... he got in before us."

Renku and his teammates stood behind some trees in the forest as they watched a person entering the ruin they were looking for. It took them the whole afternoon to find this ruin and now it’s almost night time.

"Well, there's nothing we can do about it... Lisa, a blonde haired woman who carries a wooden bow which was colored in white, said. "I don’t like to share treasures with strangers and it wouldn’t be fun to work with them as well.”

“But isn’t it dangerous for him to all alone inside the ruin?” George, the oldest man in the group with white hair, shows concern to the person who entered the ruin. “What if there are hostile animals… or maybe the rumored monsters?”

“Just leave him be. It’s not like there’s anything dangerous around here. Well, that’s what I heard from the locals.” Pale, the black-haired man who rivals Lesto in terms of speed and techniques, drew a mark on a nearby tree swiftly with his dagger. “With this we can still come back later.”

“Wow. You’ve been thoughtful since that day, Pale.” Renku joked with a smirk. “I wonder what’s gotten into you.”

“Since the time you got us trapped in that spear trap and seen by a woman straight after that!”

“Ahaha! Sorry about that.”

“Apologize not accepted.”

While Renku and Pale were bashing each other with word, with Lisa laughing behind them, George walked away from the group towards the ruin.

“You guys go back to town without me. I’m going to check on the person.”

“Wow, George. You are so kind.” Lisa said in a sarcastic tone. “We need more people like you to make this world better.”

“Tsk, you guys should stop joking and hurry back to town.” George shook his head back and forth as he continued walking forward. “Trust me, you wouldn’t want to be in the forest when this storm hi-”
Just before he could finish his sentence, George suddenly fell down like he tripped over some branch.

“Ahaha! That’s what you get for acting cool!” Lisa laughed on top of her lungs because that was one of the few times she could make fun of George. “Now hurry up and pick yo-”

“Shh! Did you hear that?” Pale holds his hand up to stop Lisa from talking. “Something is wrong.”

Renku also lost his mood to joke around as he heard a moan among the tall grass.

“Huh? What do you mea-”

Pale ignored Lisa and started running towards the place with George fell. Over there, shock could be seen on his face.

“W-What is this?”

He was staring at an activated bear trap but it was a lot bigger than an ordinary one… and lying next to it was George who just recovered from the shock from stepping onto the bear trap.

“ArrgGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!” George’s moan became louder and clearer.

The pain was just too hard to endure… the pain of losing both his legs at the same time.

Pale was still standing as he doesn’t know what to do. George noticed that and quickly (and forcefully) pulled Pale down.

“Hu-Hurry up! Go ba-bac-back to town RigHt NOw!” His voice was trembling from the pain and cold from loss of blood.

“?!” Pale still looked lost at what George was trying to say.

“D-Don’t you GeT IT?! This is nO-OrdinAry BEAR TRAP!” George took a deep breath in order to say the important pieces in one go. “THIS IS A TRAP MADE TO HUNT HUMANS! SOMEONE IS TARGETING THE PEOPLE OF THIS TOWN!”

“Haa… That’s a no good, no good at all…” A cold voice could be heard. “People who should be dead should act dead.”

Suddenly, orbs of flame started to shoot out from one of the side of the forest towards George and Pale.

“!!”

Pale quickly jumped back from the targeted area, only to hear loud explosion and flame swallowing George and his surrounding tall grass away.

“George!” Lisa couldn’t believe what just happened in front of her. Everything was too fast that she didn’t even see the last moment of the person she loved. “Wai- This can’t be true… yOU aRe KiDDing me…”

“SHIT!” Renku hurried up and took Lisa by her hand and started to run while Pale followed.

“Let go off me! What are you doing, Renku!” Lisa struggled to get her hands off from Renku. “YOU BASTARD! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? WHY ARE YOU LEAVING GEORGE BEHIND?!”

“Tsk!” Pale clicked his tongue. “There are people following us!”

After hearing that, Lisa’s anger just reached its maximum and managed to let loose of her hand from Renku. She turned back and drew the string of her white bow forcefully.

“STOP, LISA!”

“YOU BASTARDS!” Lisa shouted in rage with tears flowing down her eyes. “THIS IS FOR GEOR-”

At that moment, Lisa disappeared as a cold wind run past Renku’s face. A loud noise of something impaling the tree could be heard from behind Renku.
He slowly turned back, with cold sweat running down his back, only to find Lisa pinned into the tree like a painting with an arrow from a ballista in her stomach.

She was dead at that very instant the ballista got her.

Just before Renku could react, a headless body fell in front of him.

“YOU DAMNED COWARDS!” Renku’s rage overtook him as he recognized that the body had the same clothing as Pale’s. “WHY DON’T YOU GUYS SHOW YOURSELF!”

He began swinging his blade like a mindless person. He swings his blade at anything he thinks is moving.

“Hahaha! It never ceased to amaze me to see how people act when seeing how their friends die in front of them.” A huge man, in dark-red heavy armor, walked out of the shadow and stood in front Renku. He was carrying a huge claymore with his right hand and holds a head with black hair. “Now I’m here, what are you going to do?”

“!!”

Renku said nothing but rushed straight at the man.

The rain continued to pour as the sound of agony dies down.

*-*-*-*-*

“Sir, the other groups are done cleaning up the rats running in the forest.”

“Ah… that’s good news…”

“What’s our next step?”

“We wait.”

“Aye, sir… but could I ask you why?”

“The fire Foris managed to start up will serve as a diversion for the other adventurers.”

“So we could attack the town when the defense is at the weakest!”

“And we can ambush the adventurers.”

“Ahaha! That wizard managed to do something helpful.”

I was awoken by a the sound of a scream, it was very far away but it was the cry of pain...

And as I fully opened my eyes, I was startled by two figures in front of me, they were saying something that I did not hear properly and squinting my eyes I saw that they looked alike, except one had a mustache and the other one had a beard.

Still sitting down, I checked them from head to toe, and I gripped my umbrella, because what I saw was each of them had a weapon, an axe and a sword. Although they looked like mercenaries who just want to get into town, I still can't trust them out here.

"Town nearby....mind.....take us there..." said the bearded one, which confirmed what I was thinking, they only wanted to get into town.

"Hi. I'm Misha! And sure I'll take you there" I said acting as friendly as I can.

As I led them through the forest, I did not bother to use my umbrella for I still did not trust them so at least I would have a weapon to fend myself with...

"..."

I continued to sleep. It was so comfortable that I do not even bother to move...

"..."

Obviously Rina, the waitress, tries to wake me up, and I ignored her anyway, before losing my awareness to the environment.

Several Minutes Later...

"....!"

I woke up with a foreboding sense tingling on me. A thunder rumbled outside as I regained my consciousness. While feeling slightly groggy, I extended my left arm and grabbed my glass of water.

"I think the Mayor was right..." I mumbled, before taking a sip from the glass.

I immediately stopped drinking when I tasted alcohol from the so called water. Without swallowing the drink, I checked the contents. It was a wine. The innkeeper looked at me anxiously, thinking that I will burst into temper seeing that my glass of water got exchanged into a wheat wine. Then he pointed to a person who sat not far away from me, a black robed woman with her hood on, partially hiding her dark brown hair. Her cute looks was enough to offset for her modest outfit and her physical features.

From that, I swallowed the booze, before gently wiping the remaining froth off my mouth.

"The booze was too sweet. It might be tasty for your average girl to get drunk with, but to me, this is nothing more than a fruity root beer."

I said to the innkeeper, while keeping my gaze to the woman. Apparently my words did not ease him off, instead making him even more tense.

"W-well... I didn't know that's her intention! Please, the last time you were here, you caused a huge---!"

I raised my hand and stopped him.

"Worry not, it's not like I would start a ruckus with cute girl, would I? Besides, that last incident isn't my fault. It was that pervert drunkard who did all the damage."

The innkeeper forcefully smiled, and the waitress simply shrugged her shoulders. I sat beside with black-robed woman.

"Thanks to your playful antics, I have to atone for my sin, as alcoholic drinks are forbidden when you're a servant for the Seven Gods."

I ordered another glass of water, before drinking it to eliminate the aftertaste of the wine and my thirst that have resulted from it.

"Don't worry though, it's not like I would have to sacrifice a virgin like you to erase my sins!"

I cracked a dark humor, seeing how brave she was to set up a prank on me.

"I just need to add a couple of extra lines in my daily prayer and become a vegetarian for a week. It was the easiest compared to the other ways of atoning your sins. Like you have to fast during daytime for a month?"

While looking at the young woman, I introduced myself, before inquiring on her background.

"Enough about me anyway. I'm Lyriel Vandalesca, the priestess for this little town. What's your name? Do you have any stories to share from that cute face of yours?"

I smirked afterwards.
