Dead or Alive and Tekken

| I was planning to get either DOA or Tekken for the PS2. I just wanted to know anyone's opinion as to which. What separates the two? The gameplay? Is one more flash than the other? I hope in the end I could have BOTH (why not?) and on one console. And why aren't the new DOA on PS2 and only on XBOX? Is it like how Square Enix has most of their games on PS? |

Well...personally I think that the Dead or Alive games are one of the better fighting games. I would say DOA. If you have a PS2 then I would recommend DOA2. I don't really like Tekken though...>_<" Its really up to you. I think that the fighting style and graphics of DOA is better. I don't really know why they didn't make the newer ones on PS2...  |

DOA 3 (or 2 1/2, as some people put it) is only for the XBOX because I guess they thought it had better online capability over PS2. Really, except for online, a bit toned up graphics, new stages, cut scenes, and other goodies, it really isn't different from the 2nd one. And that isn't really a bad thing. Even though it came out like right when the PS2 originally was released, it still is one of the best fighting games on the console. If you want comparisons, though, I prefer Tekken. Tekken has much more depth with their fighting system, the graphics are better, more characters, features, ...and my gf wipes the floor clean with me on DOA. X_X DOA, though, is a better basic beat-em-up fighting game (with tag-team, which tekken doesn't have anymore). It's also alot cheaper, lol. In the end, its your choice. Both games are awesome, but I prefer Tekken. Um.. just wondering, but does anyone know which system the next DOA will be on? |

Tekken doesnt have better graphics than DOA 3, not to mention DOA ultimate. The reason why DOA is on Xbox is because the creator said he likes to use the most powerful hardware available. Simple as that. As of now DOA4 seems headed for Xbox360, but that could change in line with the 'most powerful system' thing. |

i dun think doa will ever make anything for the PS since they handed over all the contracts to the xbox company. i heard they made a doa2hardcore once for the ps2 which was a remake of the old doa2 for the sega dreamcast but their was too much light effects and ppl didnt like it. I like DOA and Tekken preferably. Bc in DOA theyve got all the hot girls and the guys arent that all cool looking unlike in Tekken all the guys are all cool but the girls are all that great looking. I also like that one of the chars in doa is Ninja Gaiden! When i play against my gf i use Ryu hayabusa and i wipe the floor wit her ass bc the combo controls are pretty good. In tekken its easier i think bc with only 4 buttons a little kid can button mash and win.hehehe  |

| I've never played DOA before... but I've played most of the Tekken gmaes, and I'd have to say that they're pretty cool. ^^ Which is more popular?? |

I prefer DOA, it has the counter system that make it different than the other 3D fighting games. But, just like other 3D fighting games, beginners aren't that easy to beat (vs mode) cuz we can't read their random moves. The bad points are its storyline. I never understands DOA story! I call TEKKEN the X-O fighting game (cuz you can win easily using Law w/ just those two buttons!) and all of the series sucks except TEKKEN 5. This one is kinda fun to play (but easy too), not just an ordinary fighting game! BTW, if you're very confused, just look for the pirate ones... lol All of my games are pirates! We're talking about Indonesia here!

if you like a deep and complex gameplay get tekken. if you like an eye candy and women get dead or alive. ps yes it's easy against the cpu (same can be said to all other fighting games) but against a good tekken player you can never win using law and those two buttons. |

yeah!!! lol I barely won against those who are experts! They always played at the arcade center and they're more skilled than the console gamer! lol

| Tekken all the way, people say that Tekken is stiff game play...which really bugs me, cause Tekken is really more life like than most other fighting games, not every character is gonna move nice and smoothly as they hope, so this game isn't for the typical gamer. DOA is more your thing, a bunch of characters, mainly eye candy females who all pretty much are all the same IMHO, the counter system is stupid IMHO because all you do all day is counter, counter, counter, counter, hardly any real playing. |

| Having just recently gotten into both, I would have to arguably say Tekken (Tekken Tag, specifically). Though DoA does have the girls, as well as being somewhat more "anime-esque", and also has no significant load-time between levels, it also has hardly any plot or cutscenes to make any sense of why everyone is fighting, and seems to be over *far* too fast. Tekken has more depth, and technique to it, even though it also is somewhat lacking in the story department (And no, the Tekken Anime Movie didn't help that much :D ) |

i wanted to but tekken but didnt have enough money,DOA just has good animation and stuff and an ok game play. tekken has awsome gameplay but im to poor to get the new tekken. oh, and DOA has kool things like tag team battle which you can do a combo when you switch characters. thats kool.
