How to use PS3 controller with my laptop?

| I have a PS3 controller and would like to use it on my pc to play games. I also have the usb charger cord which i assume i need to set it up with. Could someone please tell me how to set it up so i can play games because just plugging it in doesn't work. Also links to any programs required would be great. Step by Step instructions please guys. Heres just one thing to get it strait first of all. almost all PC games that say (controller compatible) does not work with a ps3 controller. They are, however compatible with Xbox controllers (microsoft controller, i wonder why?) alright now that you know about that, time to go into what you're probably asking for. you may use a program called "motioninjoy" in order to help connect the PS3 controller to be recognized as a device that can otherwise be utilized (like a macro) the steps include Download the program Install the program plug your controller in Run the program press the middle button to recognize if it hasn't use the program  |

motionjoy is a program that works with either the usb or bluetooth parts of the ps3 controller so you can use it to emulate an xbox360 controller on your computer. It's extremely easy to set up if you just google it and then follow the instructions.  |
