Anime or manga with best quality of characters

So what do you think is the best anime or manga with the best quality of characters? What I'm talking about is watching an anime and not having that one character you hate like the one girl who cries all the time and is helpless or the guy who always whines hes powerless or something like that. Whats the anime that you have watched and didnt mind that the main character wasnt there because the other characters was just fine. For me: Anime/manga: Fairy Tail - not one of them annoy me and each character to me is awesome in their own way. If one is not being awesome in their attack, their are making me laugh. Manga: Soul Eater - Same as fairy tail. Even Excalibur is hilarious and the looks that everybody give him. Kinda wish he would appear more for comedic purposes . Those are the only 2 that come to mind right away. will list more if they come to mind. So how about you guys?

The Fate/ series is good, really any novel series that have multiple arcs/endings. I'd say DBZ before they totally OP'd Goku. I can't think of any other series for some reason. @.@

Yeah, I love Fairy Tail for its characters, if nothing else. (My favorites are Jellal, Erza, and Juvia, but I like most of them, except the really annoying ones, like Purehito/Hades and the master of Phantom Lord.) Soul Eater and the Fate series have awesome characters as well, and I've never read Slam Dunk, but I've heard it has a wide cast of characters, so I'll agree with you on that, too. XD I like the characters in the Key anime/VNs (Clannad, Air, Kanon, Angel Beats!, Little Busters!, and Rewrite) because of how similar yet different they all are. More anime/manga with a great cast of characters: Baka to Test, Bakemonogatari, Bakuman, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, Code Geass, Eureka Seven, Fruits Basket, Gakuen Alice, Hanasaku Iroha, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Inu x Boku SS, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha (minus the ones in StrikerS; I think they're flat), Mirai Nikki, Ore no Imouto, Rozen Maiden, Shiki, Special A, Steins;Gate, The World God Only Knows, Toradora, and WORKING!! I'm not just listing the ones I like, by the way. I think all of the ones I mentioned have a great variety of girls and boys in their stories.

Mirai Nikki has awesome characters. If you ever looked into it, you'd learn that each one was based off of a Roman god. And, if you listen carefully to the theme song, each god/character is mentioned in the beginning (OP01). Some examples: Yukiteri -> Jupiter Yuno -> Juno Balks -> Bacchus Ai and Marco -> Venus and Mars In addition, with some changes, the gods largely reflect the 12 central Roman deities, called the Dii Consentes/Dii Complices. Probably more symbolism within the story about what the characters represent, but haven't really had the time to look any further.  |

Whoa, I knew the Future Diary Owners were pretty strongly developed, but I didn't think they were based off Roman gods. o-o Thank you for the information!
