Those who've seen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann know that the source of power in that show is your love and fighting spirit... Well, if that were the case I'd be defenseless right now. I am 18, soon to be 19, in college after moving away from everyone I know, and I just started my third form of martial arts (Aikido). I am teaching myself Japanese, and talking as many languages as I can so I can be a translator or something when I graduate. What I really want to do is write books and share my ideas with the world, but you can't bank on that nowadays. In short, what, if anything, can be done about my lonely situation. Everywhere I look on campus I see people together. I can tell quite often what is love and what is not, but whether it is or isn't doesn't keep me from being envious. Tomorrow I'm going to a religious organization's meeting, since I want a girl who's meek and modest, religious and wise, and can look through me like I look through everyone else... Perhaps I'm asking too much. Perhaps that kind of girl just doesn't exist anymore. Am I too nice of a guy, or am I not outgoing enough... I'd like a woman's opinion, but another guy who's been where I am would be welcome too. At the same time, this is under "Waste Of Time" so you can technically post anything on the subject of Love and Fighting Spirit... |

ello mate, here's a guy's opinion, make friends. I didn't mean to say that you don't have any, but just have a few female friends, get to know them, but don't be so direct that you wanna just know what kind of guy they like and if you'd fit. When you do start doing this you need to take it slowly, that your intentions for doing so needs to seperate from just getting a girlfriend. Starting to be friends with a girl is about the same with being friends with a guy. It's not about the benefits they can give you, it's about the enjoyment in life you can share with them. Also, don't assume you can tell what's love and not, because you're only watching the outer shell of it, it's not like you absolutely know what each person wants deep in their heart. Saying that you can tell just by looking is something that any third-rate would say. Not that I mean any harsh feelings but if what you want a girl who's meek and modest, sleek and wise or whatnot you need to be a honest reliable guy, and probably sharpen your convo skills. Don't jump to conclusions too early, be direct and speak your mind, never hesitate or let fear of embarassment push you down. P.S. screw religious counceling, fate is what you make of it with willpower. |

Perhaps I should have said that I AM honest and reliable. Often too much so. I don't mean to sound like I'm looking to GET SOMETHING out of a woman except maybe her time. I am religious, but I keep that to myself as many people are turned off by the mention of it. I intend to always to my best. I am eloquent and kind, I just don't go waltzing up to whoever looks good and start talking... I've always had my friends find me, even from a young age. Only here at college things are impersonal, so that hasn't happened. Having friends is perfectly ok with me, I'm just trying to think of the best way to just start the process! Being a good guy is rather a waste if no one knows or cares. Not that I'm in it for benefit, but it makes no difference in the lives of others right now. I will always be me, and that means striving to do the right thing and searching for a good fight and love. No matter how much insight I have, or how amazing or unamazing I am, right now it doesn't matter because no one really knows me. P.S Screw fate and atheistic views, God has always looked over my shoulder, and he's never steered me wrong before so why NOT a religious group to find a religious girl!? |

"P.S Screw fate and atheistic views, God has always looked over my shoulder, and he's never steered me wrong before so why NOT a religious group to find a religious girl!?" Are you sure god is a "he"? Who're you to be giving god a gender? And the reason why I said to screw religious counciling is that there's weak love and wimp fighting spirit coming from it. You shouldn't have to rely on advice from father to find a religious girl. Just go to the church on Sunday and meet people. Like I stated before, just be friends with em to start. |

"Are you sure god is a "he"? Who're you to be giving god a gender?" You prefer I say "it" smart-ass? I know it's waste-of-time, but how about not being a troll? |

Apologies, but I have a Philosophy class with many people like that, so it ticked me off more than it should have. Can we get back on... Topic? I don't know what to call it, since the "topic" is Love and Fighting Spirit... That said, today I saw a bird... It was pretty... Then I saw a fish... And that is why I need TV! |
