Good place to sell/trade in TVs?
Link | by devils-angel on 2011-10-25 14:16:16
I was curious about this, but I was thinking about upgrading my TV (size).
I use a LCD 22" 720p TV, but I was thinking about giving it to my dad.
His TV is a smaller one but it doesn't even have HDMI input and quality sucks.
Since he's mostly in his room I wanted to give him my TV, sell his for some money, and upgrade my TV.

I've searched around and haven't really found a good place to sell online.
I don't want to deal with eBay or a local newspaper thing either, something more legit.
I thought you could trade in TVs to Amazon but I guess not... :(

Something as small as an LCD can easily be shipped,
where as our "box" TV in our living room, which I want to upgrade, wouldn't.

But right now I was thinking about getting a bigger TV, although I'm content without.
But if I give my dad mines, then I'd want to upgrade, especially if I move out again.

I should've bought a bigger one when I had the chance in college,
however my roomate, who bought this huge flatscreen, moved out... D:

Any ideas?

Pawn shops sometimes buy those LCDs for a good price. You could try there if any place online doesn't work.

Pawn shops and craigslist are the best ways of selling your TV at a decent price.

That's why you never returned my TV, Ray. ( ̄□ ̄l)

I have absolutely no idea of any nearby pawn shops, and I never really trust those types of places.
I don't really want to deal with craiglists either, I want do deal with a more professional outlet like a real store.

I did read about these recycling programs (if I was going to trade in our box TV for a new flat screen and such),
but I just wanted to know if there are any real stores that would accept traded in TVs? I haven't found any yet unfortunately.

I guess trading/shipping LCDs between mail can be an issue. I've only ever traded in games to Amazon which is much, much easier.

@ayu you weren't suppose to look at this post :/

@da craiglist would be the best way really because you sell it on your terms. I've both sold and bought things with no hassle. Otherwise you have to find TV place to buy it but those aren't very common.
