I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this.. but I'm posting it anyway. I'm planning on buying a wireless router, but there are these N-band, Gigabit and 10/100 ports that I can't understand.. thanks for your help in advance! |

Overwhelmed by all these terms? N-band are those routers that support 802.11n bandwidth, which is generally faster (up to 300Mbps if I'm not wrong) and have higher range. Gigabit and 10/100 ports are the network port at the back of the router which is used to connect to the computer directly via a network cable. The speed for these ports are 10Mbps or 100Mbps or 1000Mbps and usually used for desktops if it does not have a wireless NIC and the depends on how fast your desktop's NIC is. Anyways, what router are you planning to get? |

NIC - Network Interface Card. Used for connection to a network. As for the choice of router, I wouldn't recommend the Linksys E2000 - there's better and cheaper model out there. I recommend one of these the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND and TL-WR940N or DLink Dir-855 |

So there are lots of other good models out there. I was so narrow-minded that I only looked at Linksys's models XD Thanks a lot for the advice! |
