Simple — MBLAQ released their first full album a couple days ago. For anyone that has the privilege to have their hands on it, what do you think? STAY and CRY, the title singles, were released prior to the albums release. Both songs are really great, and I love the whole album so far. MBLAQ has really started to hit it off. I owe my good friend for getting me into them, haha! Could be the year of MBLAQ, as my friend keeps telling me -- could it? I listen to barely any korean at all -- so the fact MBLAQ has me into it is very telling. |

Listening to it now, second half of it now so far overall sounds pretty decent. Their "Y" is like their best song, or one of them thus far (though it was a song originally made for Bi). I like MBLAQ honestly, I think they can dance and sing way better than 2PM. They use an awful lot of autotune though for having good decent voices as a group, but it fits in with their synths I guess. They'll have success for a while, until Big Bang stats releasing their album stuff. Not to mention they're going to have a huge advantage cause GD&TOP are having good success with their album, I think Seungri is his name, is also releasing his solo album, all before their group comeback. That's huge for them as a whole. TVXQ, meh, I have their album just to add to their discography which I have, but I'm more waiting for JYJ's album (which'll crush sales). They're also going to be headed to Japan soon too, but meh. Too many groups are "forcefully" entering Japan now, it's getting kind of annoying. ------- |

Yeah, I really love the way the album turned out. I also think you hit the nail on the head on how the way they autotune and do their mixing fits in well, and that they do have some great voices. I personally love their dance moves. Just great stuff. Also I heard that TVXQ[I say DBSK] had 24k album sales in the first day, which was apparently a really big deal over there. I then heard that MBLAQ had 25k. As far as the entering Japan thing goes, I can understand that. I don't keep up with much Korean, but it does seem like a lot are doing Japanese releases. I know SNSD has released a few and, who was it, 2PM? I'm really bad with the groups. >>; |

Yeah for a rookie group, MBLAQ did really well with sales, however they only competed with a depleted TVXQ (two members). lol, I don't care about sales around this much, although impressive, JYJ's pre-order sales for their first world wide album had over 500k pre-sale orders. 2NE1's albm had around 20k+ as well, but yeah JYJ's next album will dominate again. Just sucks about their situation. I actually have TVXQ's new album, but I haven't heard it yet. Not sure if I ever will. :D SNSD only released Genie, Gee, and they're going to release Run, Devil, Run!! soon, should be interesting. Most of these girl groups are just re-releasing their already made hit tracks into Japanese versions. 2PM failed the first time they went into Japan, and although they were successful the second time in Japan, I hate to agree with their popularity cause I highly think they're overrated, and it's for one simple reason, their looks. None of them can sing except for their current leader, they're a dance group and that's all. I like their songs, but sometimes they're taken a bit too far, and it doesn't help they're from a big company to help. ------- |
