:p l o t:

AveoLife Corporation is a company that focuses on finding cures for the rarest and deadliest diseases. They are very widely known for human experimentation, and very widely hated for it as well. Protests began eleven months ago against the company's methods of scientific experimentation for the miracle cure to the Seven Syndrome, so named because only seven people were known to have originally been born with the virus — the rest have contracted it from the experiments in the labs at AveoLife, through several different types of experiments during which the scientists began to attempt to familiarize themselves with the unique case of the Seven. Fourteen months ago, the Seven were brought into the labs, taken from their homes, their schools, friends, families. The scientists said that the Seven Syndrome was deadly and a cure needed to be discovered immediately, for the safety of those Seven. So, the Seven's families let AveoLife take their children away.
However, the families were unaware of the true intentions of AveoLife — to bring the Seven together and create a new generation of powerful humans, an army to use in their attempts to rise to absolute power.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

:s u m m a r y:

So, we're all one of two things: one of the Seven, or a scientist.

Scientists all study one of the Sevens separately.

The Seven are all infected with something publicly known as the 'Seven Syndrome'. Three or more of these seven symptoms can identify the Seven Syndrome; though the scientists on the case seem to think there is a further complication in the genetics of the Seven, something that can barely be explained. Scientists also believe that there may be more symptoms, and that there may, in fact, be more than only Seven of the original mutants.

  • Unusual eye colour (usually gold, red, black, or sea foam green)
  • Unusual skin markings
  • Unusual height (or lack thereof)
  • Manipulatable body parts (such as healing of flesh [varies in speed from Seven to Seven], changing eye colors, the ability to regenerate organs, etc.)
  • Extreme sensitivity to one or more of main elements (Light, Dark, etc.)
  • Extended physical capabilities
  • Increased mental abilities (resulting in an abnormal power, such as telekinesis, pyrokinesis, etc.)

One of the biggest problems with the Seven is exclusively Number TWO. TWO is an identical twin, where he is infected but his twin is not. Every one of the Seven have their own unique case; but this seems to be one of the more extravagant.

On another note, arrangement of cells is as follows. There will be two to a cell, a male with a male, a female with a female. The single cell is reserved for a special case, ONE, who is singled out for being the eldest Seven. Free reign is given during the day where the experiments can wander freely over the grounds surrounding their specific building, and can use any of the on-site facilities, such as the cafeteria, pool, gym, track, or tennis courts. Such facilities as the sauna or rock-climbing wall are forbidden without accompaniment of authorized personnel, such as one of the scientists.

Seems intresting, I'll guess I'll join.

    -Mystia
    -Lorelei
    -17
    -Female
    -Seven
    -3
-Red eyes, can jump to great lengths to appear she's "flying", has markings on her shoulders in the form of notes.
-Mystia grew up in a traveling musician family. Being born with the seven syndrome, her family hid her until she was 15. But they were forced to make her live on her own when the scientists started questioning about why Mystia didn't look like her parents, whose eyes were yellow, while Mystia's was red. Fearing the worst, they gave whatever they had and made Mystia move out. To this day, Mystia is still on the run.

[Hey, Kyosuke! Glad to see you're restarting this RP! I wonder how far it'll go this time, if you catch my drift... XD ]

    [Subject's First Name] Christopher
    [Subject's Middle Name] Lucas
    [Subject's Last Name] Walsen
[Subject's Nickname/s] Chris, Tory (he prefers the second)
    [Subject's Age] 18
    [Subject's Gender] Male
    [Subject's Faction] Seven
[Infection Number] SSPA-07 (Seven Syndrome Patient Seven)
    [Subject's Symptoms]

[Markings] The sole mark of his "illness" is a series of jagged black marks that appear on Tory's body whenever he uses his abilities.

[Body Part Manipulation] His abilities are mostly concentrated around using his extremely hard bones as weapons, such as extendable claws or razor-sharp tendrils of bone. His body has evolved to feel no pain as the skin opens up to reveal the bone inside.

[Healing Factor] Tory has a healing factor, but it's slow and takes ten minutes or more to really kick in. If his body is damaged faster than the healing process can handle, the healing factor will be thrown off balance. Also, his body seems to respond poorly to cold, and injuries sustained from cold are the only form of injury that Tory's healing factor cannot cope with; see below for more detail.

[Increased Physical Abilities] He is more flexible and agile than a normal human.

[Weakness to Cold] Tory is much more vulnerable to cold than normal humans, and thus prefers to wear thick clothes. Temperatures that would be enough to cause frostbite in a normal human give Tory hypothermia.

[Subject's Bio] The last Seven identified as such, Christopher Lucas "Tory" Walsen contracted the Seven Syndrome during his mother's pregnancy via a mysterious blue-and-red capsule given to his mother. However, it did not manifest until he was 12, just when the first cases of Seven Syndrome were announced. On the day his powers first manifested, he was being beaten up by a gang of four bullies when he accidentally managed to create a big wound on one of them with a set of claws that sprouted from his jet-black hands. The incident was hushed up and soon forgotten.

However, Tory's parents, Alessa and Jonas Walsen, did not forget. The "set of claws" thing seemed to match up with the symptoms of Seven Syndrome. A blood test later revealed that Tory was, indeed, SS-positive.

In order to protect Tory, his parents resigned from their posts as scientists working on the Seven Syndrome and moved to a different city, hoping to dodge AveoLife. In response, AveoLife sent their Biohazard Control and Disposal Division, aka "The Cleaners", to find the Seven, including Tory Walsen. But by the time they arrived at the Walsens' home, they were gone.

However, three years later, Tory was found when a AveoLife security officer recognized his parents and reported to the local branch of AveoLife. Since then, Tory has been separated from his parents, with another scientist keeping watch over him (although allowances have been made to allow Tory to keep in touch with his parents once in a while- the reasons for this are most likely to convince Tory that he is safe and his parents are alright). Nevertheless, some suspect that he still continues to hold a grudge against AveoLife for everything he's been put through, which in their eyes, is only proven by his grumpiness and brooding behavior.

As for now, all Sevens has been put on 24-hour surveillance due to suspicions about their psychological stability. Tory is no exception to this.

[Other- Subject's Personality] Despite everything that has happened to him, Tory is highly cheerful and friendly, and views his powers as, in his words, "pretty f***ing metal". However, some of AveoLife's leaders think he hides a deep-seated desire to escape- and not without good reason, as Tory has shown some signs of recalcitrance and annoyance with the general arrangements of his new abode.

Initial observation has also revealed that Tory enjoys rock music, Western comic books and manga, and is highly interested in the field of aeronautics.

    [Employee's First Name] Maria
    [Employee's Last Name] Schulding
    [Employee's Age] 26
    [Employee's Gender] Female
    [Employee's Faction] AveoLife Corporation
[Employee's Area of Study] Studies Patient Seven
[Employee's Bio] Maria Schulding is one of AveoLife's top virologists, with a Doctor of Medicine all the way from the University of Hamburg, Germany. She has recently been assigned to the case of the Sevens, and is one of the twenty scientists with complete and exclusive access to the Seven Syndrome case. She has written several papers on the use of viruses as tools for genetic modification and the treatment of hereditary illnesses.

[Other- Employee's Personality] Maria takes great pride in doing what she does as one of the leading scientific minds of AveoLife, always trying to do things "for science". She always tries to deal fairly with everyone, be they low-level personnel or the executives controlling AveoLife. Unfortunately, she does not have the slightest idea that the inner circle of AveoLife has been using her and everyone around them for years now...

    I'll join this one.

    [First Name] Amelia
    [Last Name] Burnheart
    [Age] 17
    [Gender] Female
    [Seven or Scientist] Seven
    [SEVENS ONLY: Infection Number] Six
    [SEVENS ONLY: Symptoms]
    -Increased Mental Ability: Mind Reading
    -Unusual Eye Color: Dark red.
-Wound closing when blood is shed. This ability is due to a special chemical carried in the bloodstream; it will therefore work on whoever Amelia drips her blood onto as well as herself.
-Unusual Sensory Acuity: Amelia's hearing is twice normal when she's not listening, eight times normal when she's listening, and sixteen times normal when she's concentrating on listening. Her sense of smell is constantly six times normal.
[Bio] Amelia grew up in a fairly normal home, with parents who knew she'd be a Seven Syndrome child, though how they knew that is unknown. (Possible plot twist there.) They did not, however, know what her powers were going to be. So when Amelia's symptoms popped up on her tenth birthday, they were shocked. Amelia nearly broke down from the extra sensory input, but got it under control within a year. Unfortunately, she attracted the attention of a few people who saw their chance when the first Seven Syndrome patient was announced as "under quarantine", and ratted Amelia out to them.
[Other] Amelia is good at chess, even when she is not reading her opponent's mind. She's also good at physical activities - nothing like some other Seven Syndrome patients, but athletic.
[Appearance] She has knee-length black hair that tends to cover her face. She has sickly pale skin, and she's kind of thin. Her overall build is strong, though.
[Personality] (Okay, not necessary, but I'm putting it down anyway) She's sarcastic, cynical, and quick-witted. However, she genuinely cares about her friends. When the scientists picked her up, she realized that these scientists genuinely believed that Seven Syndrome was fatal, probably because AveoLife already had a fairly accurate log of her abilities as one of the Seven and knew they needed to send dupes. However, not every one of the scientists in the Seven Institute thought it was fatal, and in fact some of them even knew for certain that it wasn't. So Amelia did some independent thought, and she knows AveoLife is trying to create super-soldiers.

There are two things I can't stand in this world - people who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.

    :r h i e n n a h:
    AveoLife Testing Facility
    Room 253
    Noon

The curtain covered the window, just as it always had. I lay alone in the dark, waiting in the AveoLife Seven Test Facility. I was waiting for results, which I usually overheard by accident. Everything here was meant to kept as quiet as possible. So basically, all I had to do was wait until they had use of me again, in which case, two scientists would usually discuss my information behind my back. As if I couldn't hear them.

Patience was virtue, apparently, and around here if you didn't learn to be patient, you didn't learn anything. I had nothing better to do than to wait. I waited to be called on for tests. I waited for sleep. Sometimes, I couldn't sleep, and waited for the end of the day, and the end — therefore — of unbearable discomfort. Mostly, I waited for the end. I waited until I could see my family again.... My brother.

"Rhovaniah, if you could see me now...." I muttered to the ceiling, which lay dormant only feet above me. A few of the scientists passed by my room, their voices and footsteps echoed loudly. My door was left open slightly, allowing a thin filament of light into the room. I rolled onto my side, facing the wall to avoid making eye contact with the evil strip of brightness.

And all I could do now was wait.

I was supposed to have a new roommate — another of the Seven, like me — arriving today, and I can't say I was overly thrilled. I had enjoyed my privacy until now, and I didn't want to have to face life with someone watching over my shoulder. Especially someone I had never met before. I didn't get out of my room much before curfew due to my sensitivity to sunlight, though amazingly artificial light had no effect on me. I was starting to get hungry, and it didn't really occur to me until this thought came up. I could run down to the cafeteria with a simple hoodie on and get myself a cheeseburger and a Dr. Pepper.... But, I didn't have the energy, so I just laid there and sulked, an arm over my eyes.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    :s h e l k e:
    AveoLife Test Facility
    Dr. Crescent's Office
    Noon

I sat in my office, pouring over the results of Five's last test. Pushing her to all her limits, and then a little beyond, and I could finally understand what was wrong with her. Nothing, physically. Nothing, mentally. Nothing, emotionally. A normal seventeen-year-old girl with a few deviations, namely eye colour, unusual skin markings, ability to jump far enough to appear to fly.... Nothing too out of the ordinary. I was comparing her results to those of a few others.... Nothing seemed to be too wrong with the others, either. Normal teenagers and young adults — one of them only a few years younger than me. All from different areas, with different histories and backgrounds....

So it made me wonder: are these cases really related? The fact that they were all coming out within the same time period with a few of the same recorded symptoms made me wonder. One would usually assume same symtoms same disease; but not here. Different areas, different lives.... And then.... It would be easy; this part would be over already if it weren't for that Rhiennah Aeon and his twin brother. Shouldn't the twin have been infected as well? Luckily, it wasn't my job to look into that; Rhiennah's doctor specialized in twins, and I frankly didn't give a damn. Twins were twins. Well, until now, anyway.

I sighed, throwing the papers down on the desk and leaning back in my chair. What I wouldn't give for a coffee right now....

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    :r e v e r i e:
    AveoLife Test Facility
    Tennis Courts
    Noon

The tennis court was just outside the training facility, bathed in bright afternoon sunlight. I was allowed to use it, though it was meant for off-duty employees, but only on the condition that I let them watch me. I was playing the scientists, beating them down one-by-one as they entered the court. We were playing best of five sets, and so far I was wiping the court with AveoLife. I was playing an animal scientist — and being anti-animal testing this is understandable — where the score for the first four sets was forty-love for me. That's three points for me, none for him. Now, on the fourth match, I was about to wipe the court with him again.

    Stupid rat scientist....

It was my serve. So far, the score was thirty-love. One more point and I would have demolished him. I decided not to take any chances, hitting a kick serve (also known as a twist, from the way the ball rotates). I aimed directly for him, giving him no chance to defend when the ball bounced up toward him. Before any of us knew what was going on, he was on the ground, a large red spot (which would later form a huge bruise) appearing on his face along with a bloody nose. Whoops.... That's tennis. The umpire had to call it an ace — I had made a legal service, and he hadn't been able to hit it back. I won again for the tenth time already, and I hadn't even broken a sweat. Wouldn't anyone here give me a challenge?

    [Tory Walsen][AveoLife Testing Facility|Shower Room|Noon]

Tory Walsen let the water run over him, feeling his muscles relax as water washed away the soapy suds all over his body. Today, he'd been froced to undergo another physical test, this time involving combat drones.

If there was one word that could be used to describe his state, Tory thought, it would be drained; he was physically drained from fighting the drones, mentally drained from the adrenalin rush disappearing, emotionally drained with his annoyance with AveoLife and the world in general... and then there was the announcement that he was to move rooms immediately and shack up with one "Rhiennah Aeon".

Yes, Tory decided. He, Christopher Lucas Walsen, SSPA-07, was utterly drained.

He looked up, feeling the shower spray into his face. God, how often he wished to the heavens that AveoLife would just shut up shop or just disappear; then he and his family could go back to their lives.

    But that wasn't happening.

Which was why Tory was there in the shower, moping about it.

Tory breathed hard through his nose. There was no sense in moping about it. He looked at himself, then decided to finish his bath by shampooing his hair. Stepping out, a towel wrapped around his waist, Tory dressed in a white shirt and gray slacks, combed his hair and took the bag propped up on the bench, slinging the rucksack over his back as he exited, meeting a rather obsequious young aide outside.

"Hi, Tory. They sent me here to tell you that your new room is Room 253, just down the hall there to the left. Hope you don't mind."

A few minutes later, Tory stood in front of Room 253. The number was written in gilded letters over the wooden door.

Well, no sense in delaying the inevitable.

    Sighing, Tory knocked.

    "Uh... hey, anybody there? Hello?"

    [Maria Schulding][AveoLife Testing Facility|Employee Cafeteria]

The cafeteria was usually full at this time of day, and as such, Maria Schulding found herself competing for solo space at the tables. She tried several, but always found herself crowded out by other scientists from the other branches. Where were all the other Seven Syndrome researchers anyway?

Finally, she gave up and accepted an invitation from the two scientists in the corner, who were apparently part of the same team as her. At least she'd be able to eat here: she didn't want to eat in her room. Carpeting was expensive.

Maria looked over at her papers again, while spearing a dressing-coated tomato on her plate. The scientist next to her gently tapped her on the shoulder.

    "Hey, Maria?"

"Uh?" Maria turned. There beside her was her friend from the research team, Jill Isaacs.

"Oh, Jill! Hi. Didn't expect you there."

Jill smiled at her, grabbing her by the shoulder and pulling her into a hug. With Maria totally incapacitated, she plucked the research papers out of her hands and began leafing through them.

"Oh! So you've been assigned to take care of Tory Walsen?" Jill said. "I see. He's the last Seven to be captured, right?"

"Uh-huh." Maria was now back to trying to fish her salad out of her plate without spilling it over herself.

Jill leafed through the documents. "Ah, says here his parents were working here before Tory was caught." Her face became downcast. "Wonder where they are. Poor boy must miss his father and mother very much. He must be terribly lonely."

Maria sighed and took back the documents. "Well, he won't be lonely any more. Admin's made him change rooms. As of today, he'll be roommates with Patient Two, Rhiennah Aeon."

    There was a short silence.

"Rhiennah..." Jill said. "You mean the kid who has a twin that didn't get infected?"

Maria didn't comment. She was now focusing her attention on the half-eaten salad, as though it would spring to life any second. Why wasn't Rhiennah's twin infected? The two were essentially subjected to the same variables: how could one escape the infection?

The only person who held the data on Rhiennah was that doctor who specialized in twins. Maria made a mental note to talk to him someday. And maybe schedule another test.

Which reminded her- she'd have to get the data on Tory's physical exam. Why did she have to put that boy through this? What could they want with him? With the Seven? With...

    "Uh... Maria?" Jill said. "Helloooooo?"

Maria snapped out of her trance. "Oh, sorry, Jill. I have to go. I have to summarize Tory's exam results. He just had a physical fitness exam today."

"Oh," Jill said. "Well, see you again sometime."

Still, as Maria went out of the cafeteria, she wished she could just toss her data into the trash along with the rest of her salad.

    Noon

I heard footsteps coming down the hall, and I wondered what kind of information I'd get this time. I only hoped it was about me. But, I was in for something much different. That roommate that I didn't order. He popped in and called out for someone, but I didn't answer. In stead, I turned over on my stomach and buried my face. When they had said Tory Walsen, I had been hoping for a girl. No such luck.

"If you've come with my pizza, leave it on my side table and back away slowly," I told him, without looking up. I was a little grumpy, and the addition of new voice to the echoing silence of my room made me realize that I had a splitting freaking headache.... But eventually curiousity got the better of me, and I had to look up at him. I couldn't see him well in the dark, so I touched the base of my lamp inconspicuously, trying to make it seem like it had come on by itself. My mouth came open slightly though as I took him in.... He was... pretty. Especially his eyes; so blue.... I sat up then and turned the overhead light on. "I'm sorry. I'm Rhiennah, or Number TWO in AveoLife Nazi lingo. Here's your bed, this half of the dresser is yours.... Can I help you with anything?"

Amelia, AveoLife Test Facility, Corridors - Outside Dr. Crescent's Office, Noon

Amelia loved this game. She loved outsmarting the security guards, going somewhere she wasn't supposed to be without being caught once. More specifically, she was going to Doctor Crescent's office to monitor his thoughts and confront him with them. Again.

She arrived in front of the door, and tried to read his thoughts through the door. No luck - he must have spread a sheet of tinfoil over the inside of the door after the last time. Damn him and his clever solutions! She casually knocked on his door, wincing as she heard it far too loudly. Her eardrums were far too receptive to sounds; apparently, it was because they were only 93% as thick as most peoples' eardrums. It came in handy when trying to listen, but it was more pain than it was worth.

    Mystia Lorelei/AveoLife Test Facility/Room 256/Noon

Mystia awakens to a unfamiliar room. It was oddly quiet and well-lit. Mystia, dejected curls up and sobs quietly.

"Mama...Papa, I'm sorry. I got caught..." Mystia said between sobs.

Little did she know she was being watched. A few minutes later, Mystia went to sleep on the bed in the room.

    [Tory Walsen][AveoLife Testing Facility|Room 253|Noon]

"Hey." Tory detected a faint hint of annoyance in his new roommate's voice. Hoping not to offend him, he slowly stepped into the dimly lit room, putting his bags down beside his bed. Next to him sat a young man in a hoodie and black pants.

"So, you're Rhiennah Aeon, huh?" Tory sat on the bed, letting his feet dangle off the edge. "I'm Tory Walsen, Number Seven if you will." He flashed him his best smile. "Hope I won't get on your nerves much."

Tory wondered why he kept the room so dark. Was he photosensitive or something? Whatever. He was in the same situation as he was. Somehow, he couldn't help but focus on the boy's face, or what he could make of it: rough black hair framing a pretty face, golden eyes glinting beneath the hood- wait, that last one was unusual. And... quite beautiful, really.

W-Wait! What the hell am I thinking? Quickly, Tory averted his gaze. He hoped Rhiennah didn't see him blushing.

"Uh... So, you said something about pizza..." Tory said, trying not to pay attention to his burning cheeks.

[[Hey, all! Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I'm having rough time, and it might be a while before I can really get out of it, so I might not be posting for a while. I'll be popping in every now and again, but I won't be able to join any new RPGs or anything. Just thought I'd let you know. I still love y'all, though!]]

His smile made my heart skip a beat, and I held my chest to steady it. There was something wrong with this — instant attraction just didn't happen. Epecially not toward other guys. But this... Tory Walsen guy.... He was different. Other than the heavy clothes and almost cheerful personality. I mean, appearence-wise. A perfectly sculpted face, red hair, oceanic blue orbs, full lips. He was wearing thicker layers than anyone I had seen here, and it hid his figure away from my eyes, or I most definitely would have noticed that too. It confused me, knowing that I could think that way about another male, and I reached over, tapping my touch-lamp twice to shut the light off and plunge us both into darkness. This was only until the colour had cleared from my cheeks, the heat from my body.

"Pizza? Right. We're not allowed to eat in our rooms, but I thought you might be... someone else." I stopped short, jumping up quickly and touching the light back on as I practically dove under the bed. "But if you're hungry, I've got contraband!" I announced as I pulled out a small box full of junk food. There was an assortment of potato chips, pretzels, chocolates, and popcorn; somewhere at the bottom there were a few cans of Pepsi. I was lucky that I was such good friends with the cafeteria lady, Colleen. "And don't worry about the camera, either." I motioned up to where it was installed; a black sock was shoved over it roughly, but it wasn't coming off anytime soon. I didn't fear getting in trouble for it, either, because they hardly watched the cameras during the day. What was the point? Everyone was awake. If we were doing something wrong, they'd hear us and come running.

There was a knock on my door, but I didn't lift my head from my desk where I laid, just wanting to sleep. As great a scientist as I might have been, I hated the part that came after the projects. The write-ups. I know, every good scientist has done them to record the results of their— blah, blah, blah. It didn't really matter when you were running on two hour's sleep, did it?

The knock sounded again, and this time I sat up, turning toward the door with a deep glower set in stone. "Who is it? What do you want?"
