Anime you like but don't like

Watch any animé shows that you have mixed feelings about? Here's some of mine. D.N. Angel - I like the shounen art style of this series and I kind of like the story, but I think it could have been delivered better than it was. The dubbing's not exactly fantastic either, although Dark sounds like a sexy beast (Good ol' Vic sounds like a hot surfer in nearly all of his roles). So while I do like this series, I can't really be bothered to watch it again. But I don't want to get rid of my DVDs either. Higurashi ~ When They Cry - Now this series is my current obsession. I've seen the entire first season and it freaked me out something terrible. The dark and sinister moods that can so quickly follow a happy, pleasant scene, the suspense and paranoia, all spiralling deeper down to horrific bloody violence. I don't have a problem with sudden, shocking violence like decapitations, explosions or being sliced up, but slow and meticulous torture... that seriously disturbs me. I also hate watching suicide in any form. I downloaded this series some months back and deleted all the episodes after I watched them, I didn't think I'd ever want to watch that again. But... I still keep wondering how everything turns out in the next series. And as grim as the series is, the whole mystery element about it fascinates me.

@Devo Try the subtitled version. Better voices. What an unusual way of describing Dark in a way. I can't picture his name and the word beast in a sentence(he's rather nice and caring for someone who isn't exactly human)though in a way it's true. Kuroshitsuji-Scared of Sebastian and the entire Phantomhive household but I like the setting and the demon contract thing. |
