WHAT?! I'll get a M16 and kill all those people responsible for banning animé. LOL! Just Kidding! but it probably won't happen...Animé is known in the whole world. And i'm sure that America wouldn't do such a thing. well if it ever happens I'll break every rule you just said or pass a bill to approve animé once again...
^_^v PEACE OUT!

it wouldn't happen, because it is against the constitution to ban forms of art. if it did happen, i would... accept it and move on? |
Re: law saying "no more anime in america"?!?

1.no more buying anime dvds I dont usually buy anime dvd's since ordering online is a hassle and there arent anime dvd stores where I live and also i borrow from a rental store and just burn a copy hehehe. 2.no anime sites I dun like those crappy unprofessional anime sites like geocities and angelfire so that wouldnt bother me that much. But I like this site.. 3.no more anime music i have hook ups in japan and they would send me anime soundtracks and so on... 4.no more ordering anime Id just get another person from another country to do my orderin for me. 5.no bringing anime things to america Id do some black market thing and smuggle things in and sell at highest bidding price.. 6.and last but not least...NO MORE SHOWING ANIME ON TV! I barely watch anime on tv.. Adult Swim sux ass by showing dubbed things like for say "s-CRY-ed" o come on that anime is like soooo olddd i saw it like 4 or 5 yrs ago and now they bring it out in US? DBZ uncut and unedited just wants dbz fans to watch again. And wats wit the time scheduling?? Im like falling asleep by the time Inuyasha comes on grrr.. and now their moving futurama back to 11 so their gonna move the anime to like 2 or 3 am in the morning? like only the freaken sexual perverts are up at that hour omg they should show the animes around 7ish and stuff dammit!! |

I wouldn't accept the law & there is enough people in this country who would sign against it. As for pat, I watch adult swim b/c A) me & the computer don't mix. & B) I record the shows w/ an 8hour tape every sat. while I'm at my anime club which is from 7-12something every sat. Unless they cancel all of South Alabama College clubs for some stupid hurrican.(& it barely had any heave rain & only 60mph wind too; I been throw T-storms 10xs worse than that! Ivan last year was a reallll hurrican). I have alot of money & the blockbusters around here don't have huge section(but getting better). So, adult swim is just as good of a choice for me.(lucky people w/naruto & AnimeNetwork to watch on tv I have stupid MediaCom)

I would be breaking this law every day, there is always P2P and bittorrents, and big brother is not allowed on my PC or into my network for that is an invasion of my privicey, so this law would not go very far if someone even thinks it up. |
Re: law saying "no more anime in america"?!?

This would never be approved in the United States. Such a law is an infringement of 1st Amendment Rights, not to mention a huge slap in the face to the Asian-American population, and that's just the US. I would think that the entire International Community would find this extremely disconcerting if this law went through, because US could simply use anime as a springboard to ban all sorts of foriegn imported goods, which is a very bad idea for the Global Economy. While some people wouldn't put this past our good buddy George, it would be immediately shot down in the US courts. However, the Chinese government is about to forbid all foriegn animation from primetime television. It will be interesting to see how the common man will react, since there's already some seeds of anti-government sentiment planted within farmers.

Im in Canada and we risked a simular fate recently; Stockwell Day and Stephen Harper (Conservatives or as we call them Canada's Republicans)tried to pass a new child pornography Bill. Now you might be thinking what this has to do with anime, but with the level of restrictions this law would impose NO child pornography or anything depicting minors in the nude. PERIOD! Ranma 1/2 = Kiddy Porn, Tenchi Muyo = Ditto, Even My Neighbour Totoro's bath scene would have to be cut. Think about how many series have nudity with charecters that are not over 18, and this wasnt just for TV, this included DVD's. We already have enough trouble getting Henta across the boarder, but this would have made things even worse. But no one takes the Conservatives serioulsy in many areas and censorship is one of them. So anime in Canada is safe.... for now. |

True, it would be a violation of 1st amendment rights, but then again, I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this pop up in one of the bible belt states either. If it did ever happen, I'd be joining codebreaker on the P2P networks (not like I don't already) :D. |

*playing along* Okay, here's the plan: -Obtain several part-time jobs and buy out frequent flyer miles. -Make many more trips to Japan "just because"(and to China; my friend assures me it's very cheap over there. Hell, she's there right now, lucky itch...) with near-empty suitcases, or weighed with expendable goods, if you know where I'm going with this... Buwahahahaha... -Once you've bought several copies of varying animes and anime-type products, open underground networks auctioning them off... sorta like a Black Market for otakus... (keeping some for later; perhaps tracking down a translator or two and a few willing-to-do-it-for-the-sake-of-anime voice actors, ne?) **And with all the money you'll make, you can keep it up for quite a while, perhaps a few years, till the cops bust ya. Then you're screwed, and you can blame your dimwitted partner who tried to sell to the chief's kid and you'll hafta use your connections to the Yakuza to break you out and you'll be on the run but it was all have been worth it especially cuz you're packing machine guns and... and... *blink and deep breath* ...but, that's just me and my vivid imagination running away again. Any other ideas? |
