..b u t t e r f l y.. ...I'm tired of saying stuff like that, but.... ----------------------------------------------------------------- "In the Great, Lonely Skies, We Will Keep Flying; Even if We Lose Sight of Our Own Map." An arranged marriage isn't exactly the prime aspect of anyone's dream, let alone their most primal wish. It's been drilled into Vixen Harlen's head that he will marry whoever his father chooses, whether he likes it or not. It hasn't been a big deal to him before, his father had never attempted to act upon this threat. But now, it's different. Not only has his father found him a bride, but she's beautiful, higher-classed, well-mannered... beautiful.... She's everything a princess should be, as far as he's concerned. That is, until he's forced to spend some time alone with her.... ----------------------------------------------------------------- ..s u m m a r y.. Vixen Harlen is a low-ranking lord of Lithilus in a country called Archania. Ruled in a monarchy, the King is desperate to marry his teenaged daughter to a respectable young man, and Vixen happens to be the man of interest. Both parties are dreading the marriage... and then they meet eachother, radically different from what they first believed. The only problem is that they may become more friends than lovers.... ----------------------------------------------------------------- ..r u l e s.. -If you want the part of the princess, you MUST send me the form so I can approve it (think of it as auditions). Otherwise, any character is accepted- -You may NOT play other peoples' characters- -You may play up to five characters- -You obviously can't kill anyone unless you have the player's permission- -Your character must be between the ages of 17 and 24- -Ask questions, just in case I've left anything out- -At least 3 GOOD sentences per post- -Have fun!- ----------------------------------------------------------------- ..p l a y e r s.. Kyousuke Otaku Zero Mizore Xianna Shae ----------------------------------------------------------------- ..N P C s.. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ..f o r m.. [First Name] [Last Name] [Nickname] [Age] [Gender] [Personality] [Rank] [City, Province, and Country of Origin] [Other] [Appearance] ----------------------------------------------------------------- ..m e.. ..v i x e n..h a r l e n.. [Nineteen] [Male] [Calm and reserved in front of people, especially those of class. Generally friendly and polite toward his people, excepting those who don't deserve it; and doesn't like adventuring or taking unneccessary risks.] [Lower-Ranking Lord] [Virdene, Lithilus Province, Archania] [Was chosen exclusively, from hundreds of other men, to marry the princess of Archania.] xXXx ..l i r e i..y o n a..t i k a a n i.. [Twenty-two] [Male] [Very proper in front of the King and Remiel's Alter; but very outgoing in a shady sort of way anyother time. However, he is friendly, calm, and responsible; people trust him easily.] [High Priest] [Terradis, Austrevana Province, Archania] [Lives and works at Remiel's Alter, in the Acrchanian Palace. Goes by two names, Lirei and Yona. In front of royalty, his personality is called Lirei, anywhere else, he's Yona. This is somewhat of a split personality. Appointed by the King to watch over his daughter.] ----------------------------------------------------------------- Just a short note, this RPG will take place in Terradis, Austrevana Province. |

[Appearance] Black hair, extremely pale skin. He dresses in bright, vibrant colors, which makes his masquerade all the more convincing as he looks like a court jester. He often smiles, whether in battle or otherwise.

@All: Alright, thanks for joining; we can now begin, though I will still accept anymore characters that you'd like to throw in. I'm going to add two more characters, myself. Also, make as many NPCs as you want, and have fun with them! Shall we? xXXx ..v a a n..t i r s t o n e.. [Seventeen] [Male] [Very upbeat and energetic. He's intelligent, but he doesn't let on about it.] [Arisocrat] [Virdene, Lithilus Province, Archania] [Khayne's younger brother] xXXx ..k h a y n e..t i r s t o n e.. [Twenty-three] [Male] [Laid-back, very mature. Mostly quiet, but cool, calm, and very dominent.] [Aristocrat] [Virdene, Lithilus Province, Archania] [Vaan's older brother] [[The one on the left is Vaan, the one on the right is Khayne.] ------------------------------------- ..v i x e n.. The carriage's gentle swaying must have put me to sleep, because my first memory of Ausrevena is a hard jolt as one of the wheels was jerked up out of a deep hole on the only road into Terradis. I started violently, shaken out of sleep rather suddenly. It took me a minute to remember where I was, and why, and for the pain in the back of my neck to register. I rubbed it almost absent-mindedly, leaning back over to stare out the window of my carriage. "Hey, Vix! Like this!" I looked over to see my cousin, Vaan, hanging out the window, while his older brother, Khayne, shook his head. I looked to him for approval, and when Khayne rolled his eyes, returning to an impossibly thick book, I knew it was alright. Pushing the window open, I stood and leaned out it, looking back over to see Vaan doing the same; he waved at me, grinning brightly. I smiled in return, but refused to let go of the window. "Look! Terradis!" Vaan pointed up ahead at the uniquely built city, the architecture notably different from any other city in Archania. Besides that, I knew that most of the people there would be blonde, unlike in Virdene, which was farther north. Terradis, it was known, was first settled by the people of the ancient land, which was inhabited — or so I had heard in my studies — completely by blondes. That is, before it was destroyed by Sin over four hundred years ago. Those who escaped Solantra in the midst of Sin's wrath, it was said, had crossed the ocean and settled in Terradis, which had been a small native establishment back then. That was how we almost always distinguised those with Solantran ancestors — light-coloured hair. For instance, my cousins' father had golden blonde hair, hanging to his waist; he was very beautiful. Their mother, my father's sister, was very proud of her husband's heritage, and thought very much of him — of course, she had always wanted blonde children, and in stead she got Vaan and Khayne. However, just before her death a little more than four months ago, she had been gifted the two blonde sons she had always dreamed of — Vaan and Khayne's brothers, Luan and Cirrus. I had been born to two full-blooded Archanians, hence my dark hair and violet eyes; but I had also been the family's second. I was an only child, but Khayne was a whole year older than I was, and rightfully would have taken the throne if he had wanted it. I was lucky that, while he was dominent, he had hardly any ambition — he'd rather serve someone else than rule, himself. And I was happy about that.... Except that now, I was being sped along toward my doom — an arranged marriage that would see me as the King of Archania. I was only a low-ranking lord of the City of Virdene, not even the lord of a whole province.... Besides, that would mean that Vaan would become the Lord of Virdene, and that more than certainly spelled trouble. I had tried to explain this to my father, but he wouldn't hear it, and now here I was.... On the road to misery. xXXx We approached the city, our carriage surrounded by twenty of our best troops from the Virdenian Royal Guard on horseback. I wasn't sure of who they all were, but some were familiar from countless social gatherings held in our palace that their prescence was required for. We slowed down as we came closer, allowing the gates to open fully to a crowd of commoners that were bunched up on the sides of the street. Our troupe continued into the city, Vaan and I hanging out the windows, more to stare in awe than to wave at the common people of Terradis. The city was even more beautiful on the inside.... It took about a half-hour at a walk to get to the palace, which was even more extravagent than the rest of the city. I marvelled at the tan brick and the spires that peirced the sky, so high up that one would need to squint to see the tops. All of it was crafted so finely, the patterns in the brick, which made beautiful images at certain distances, could not have been hand-crafted, and so came about the suspicion that Solantrans were also holders and wielders of amazing magic. I had never been outside Virdene, so I had never seen anything like this before. Virdene was more known for its ivory buildings, arched ceilings and expansive waterways — the first city to use them. While it was one of the most beautiful palaces in all of Archania, this one still took my breath away. Anyway, magic or not, I didn't really care. I could see the wide stairs that spanned out on only a slight incline at the foot of the palace; the King stood there with his wife and daughter, and another redheaded man besides. She was just as I imagined her; Princess Angelique, I mean. She was slender and beautiful, dressed to the nines, and stood next to her father as if looking down on me from the top of the stairs. I pulled my head into the carriage — Khayne pulled his brother back in and lectured himon his behavioural conduct and the punishments for not complying — in time to be let out by one of the guards who closed the door behind us. --------------------------------- @All: Just so everyone knows, this is what the architecture in Terradis looks like. This specific picture is part of the palace. Also, the netting that appears over the entire palace, only occurs in some areas of the city. Most are open over the top, including the palace, except for the areas nearest the river. |

Didn't you make a rule that characters had to be between ages 17 and 21? Last I checked, 23 wasn't in that range.

..Aemia.. I had just finished cleaning the table, about to pack some clothes that were to be delivered today....by me. The worst part was that I had to go to the palace. I switched from my pajamas to a long sleeved shirt with a vest, pants, and some high heeled boots. I hated going there because they've seen me many times before. I'm kind of "wanted" by the military and government. I quickly remembered to take caution,so I took a piece of soft leather that said "wild" in small letters and tied it around my neck. This "necklace" would hide the tatoo I was given by the military. I wore this while I worked for the military, but now that I think about it I still work for the military as a general. It's just that I....haven't been found by them! Thats what you call it! I picked up a bag full of the clothes that moi made. I walked into Fae's room to see her dressed and all ready to go. "Come on Fae we gotta go." Soon we were about to walk up the steps when Fae and I saw other people. ..Fae.. "Who are they, sis?" Aemia gave me a how-would-I-know face and kept looking at the people. Maybe they were secretely murderers here to steal the thrown, but they're dressed way to nicely. So the only thing we would and did do was stare.

I rode on my horse heading toward the palace as commanded by the king himself. It took awhile I finally arrived, as I did, I notice the King standing at the front of the steps along with the queen as well as the princess herself. I look at where they are looking at. It would seems the guest had arrived the one chosen by the king to be the princess' husband. I slowly got off my horse, Mercury. I walked towards them, as I did I notice from a far, two young lady watching the whole scene. I glance back at the king. I nodded and bowed. "Your majesty, I have arrived as you have commanded." King: Ah, Kira. So glad you could make it, come on up. I walked up the stairs towards the royal family. I bowed to the queen and the princess. Then I turn my attention back to the king. "Your highness, so today is the day." I made it more of a statement rather than a question. The king nodded and turn his attention to the young men who walked out of there carriage. The king whisper to me. King: Kira, please head to the meeting room, I wish to discuss important matter to you along with Strauss. "*whisper* Yes sir." I bow my head again before the queen and the princess, and head into the palace. Heading straight for the meeting room. Little did I realize the princess watched my every move as if entranced by me or something. I walked out of my household and headed off towards the palace to the meeting held by the king. It took me a few moments, as I arrived I notice two young ladies looking at the front gate of the palace curiously. I smiled and walked up to them. "Excuse me Miss, do you have business with the King?" By the sound of my voice, had them startled which they turn around and looked at who had spoken. I merely smile at them with my usual kind face and expression. |

..Aemia.. "Gyyaaah! Watch where you're goin',dope!" I looked at him with distaste and from the appearance I could tell it was another person in the military. I quickly looked at the ground sso he couldn't see my face. "Yeah,I got business here. Delivering some clothes for some high priest or something like that...what's it to ya'." I couldn't let him recognize me so I kept my head down and my face out of sight. "Come on,Fae." We started to walk to the steps getting closer and closer. We were standing on the middle of the steps when something caught my attetion. The man with the pink hair. Pink? What kind of hair color is that!? I stood with Fae on the steps waaiting to be spoken to. I didn't want to draw too much attention.

-'angel'- I woke up sighing as I realized that today is the day i'll meet him. Wondering what he looks like and what kind of attitude he possesses , I whispered to myself "Oh well, I guess he's a good and respectable man as my father says" when somebody suddenly knocked on my door. "My angel, time to get up. Your father waits for you", my mother said as she sat beside me. I just nodded and she kissed me on the forehead and left. As I walked down stairs, I stood before my mother and watch the gentlemen walks out of the carriage. My father, seems to be discussing something with a young man I hardly know of, gave a glance on the carriage and suddenly head off to the meeting room. Thinking what that was about, I shook off my head and just smiled on the guests. The man with the dark hair and violet eyes caught my attention as he smiled back. -'mizore'- "Oh, this is the day. I hope he's a good guy. Guess i'll have to check later" is all I could whisper to myself after I finished feeding my cat, Neki. I'm supposed to be delivering the items my father made but my curiousness made me head off to the palace. I saw Angel, having her usual gentle smile on her face and I guess the guy must be nice. Then I remember when I first met Angel , she was running after my Neki on the park. I was looking for my cat and was surprised to see that someone is holding her. Angel lift up a smile and said I have a very cute cat and our friendship started there. I never thought that she was the princess because she was so natural and very down-to-earth until someone called her. After that, I've been receiving many letters from her asking if she could see Neki again. I delivered the orders and went back home. |

"So, truly does the fair day reflect upon the princess whose engagement ceremony we are attending," Rolf said gaily as he and his teenage charge walked up the steps to the palace. Boris understood that Rolf's flippant remark was meant to mean that the princess was as beautiful as the day, and not that she was sun-drenched. "Keep such careless remarks to yourself," he ordered shortly. Rolf was dressed like a court jester as usual, while Boris was dressed in attire that looked like a high-class outfit but was made from cheap, durable, uncomfortable leather with a layer of cloth on top. The two were attempting to navigate their way through the throng of people attending the ceremony - at least some of which, Boris was sure, were not invited. When that other lord from the Lithilus Province had been selected as the lucky fiancee, Boris had been jealous, but not unduly so. He hadn't especially wanted to marry the princess anyway, but it had been a surprise when his father had been selected as the Lithilus Province's dignitary. It had been an even bigger surprise when his father refused the role and passed it to his only child, Boris. "Listen carefully, my son," Christopher Schneider had said. "You are going to be my only successor, so you have to learn what it feels like to be at court - what's expected of you, what you need to do to keep your standing, and especially who you need to keep on your side. Otherwise, you won't survive long as nobility." Boris had every intention of learning that, but he would have preferred to learn it at some more minor event, such as a lacrosse game. "Young Master?" Rolf asked. "Is something the matter?" Boris realized that he had fallen behind Rolf in his recollections. "I'm fine," he said. "Let's go, Rolf."

Suddenly feeling rather shy, Khayne placed a hand on my shoulder for support. I looked up at him, violet eyes pleading, and he smiled with a slight, unnoticed nod. He would do this much for me, and I was grateful to him; but he knew that my father expected me to do this on my own, and I wasn't about to dissappoint him. We waited patiently as the King spoke to a young man who appeared to be only a few years younger than Khayne, himself. Not only that, but he looked important, speaking to the King himself.... My eyes wandered from there. There were two girls — common girls — not far from us, and another man speaking quietly to them. When I looked back up, nudged by Vaan (who was no doubt nudged by Khayne), the man who had spoken to the King dissappeared into the palace, giving Khayne his chance. He bowed, low and graceful. "My lord, it is an honour to be accepted to your palace." "And it's an honour to have you," the King responded. He was much nicer than I had expected him to be.... "My name is Khayne Tirstone; I am to be dealing with the legal side of this marriage. May I introduce Lord Vixen Harlen, and my younger brother, Vaan Tirstone." Khayne sounded so formal, I nearly shivered. I could tell that it bothered Vaan, too. Absent-mindedly, my younger cousin reached up and began to rub his left eye, which was covered over with clean bandages. I had just helped him wrap it before we had reached the city, and I had to admit that I was rather proud of my own work. "I suppose I'll be seeing alot of you in the next two weeks." The King smiled down on us, and then his eyes fell on me. "Lord Harlen, please come forward and meet my daughter, Angelique, your fiancee." I held back a cringe at that word, fiancee. I didn't want to be betrothed.... "Yes, my lord." I obeyed him, coming up the stairs and bowing low to Princess Angelique. I took her hand gently and kissed it, keeping my head down and whispering, "My Lady...." "I'd also like you to meet our Kigh Priest, and Angelique's guardian, Lirei Tikaani." I looked up at the redheaded man. He seemed rather shifty. I think it was the way he was standing; but he kind of unsettled me for some reason.... Lirei Tikaani smiled as well, but there was something dark about it. "Don't bother bowing to me, Young Lord. I have spoken to Remiel, and he tells me that you and I will be very close." I stood back up straight, suddenly feeling alone up there without the protection of my cousins. Vaan... Khayne... save me.... This guy's a creep.... Almost as if he heard me, Lirei laughed out loud and stepped forward to put a firm, and somehow delicate hand on my shoulder. "I'm just joking, My Lord. Welcome to the family." Welcome to the family.... Yeah... what a strange revelation. "Why don't you three come in and have lunch with us?" The Queen asked, as if we had a choice. "Yona will see you're horses are taken care of." "Yona?" Lirei smiled and waved at me. "Me, again. My name is Yona Tikaani; but after moving into the palace when I was very young, the King named me Lirei. He's the only one who calls me by that name... see it as a sort of affection...." "Yeah. Alright.... Make sure they get out on a decent pasture." "I know what they need. I'll make sure they're spoiled rotten." Lire— I mean, Yona ruffled my hair and walked off down the stairs as Vaan and Khayne joined me. Vaan was rubbing his eye again, Khayne smacked his hand away. There was something so wierd about him.... Khayne whispered to me to disregard it for the moment and focus on my bride-to-be, Angelique. That was a prefect idea... easier said than done.... |

I watched as the two girls ran off into the palace. I chuckled at the girls' shyness. But for some reason she seem familiar like I've seen her before. I took out a pendant from my pocket, I look at it my eyes filled with emotions. Stella. . .are you praying for my happiness right now. I clutched the pendant close to my heart before putting it back into my pocket. I walked off towards the steps where the king, queen and the princess is. As I approached. I bow before them. Then I took hold of the queen's hand and gave a it a slight kiss, before I did the same to the princess. "Your majesty I have come as you commanded. It is also a pleasure to see you my queen and you Angelique-sama again." Queen: It is indeed nice to see you again. I'm hope you are alright after what had happened. I notice the princess look confuse at hearing the queen's words. "It's alright my queen." King: Akabara Strauss, Kira yamato is in the meeting room, I shall meet with you two shortly. I nodded. I bowed to the queen and the princess before I head on in towards the meeting room. I gave a glance at the new comer then head on in. As I did, the ceremony party had already started. I greeted many of the guest as I continue my way to the meeting room. I finally arrived, I knock on the door before heading in. As I walked in I notice Kira Yamato standing while waiting. Kira: Hey Strauss, been a long while since we last meet. I nodded. After awhile we hear a knock and in walked the king. King: Alright, let's discuss the situation at hand. As you all know that many spys and assassin had been sent here by various country, most likely targeting my daughter and perhaps me. What I want you to do is be on your guard and protect us whatever you can. Strauss, from now on your shall be my personal bodyguard. And. . . Kira Yamato, you from now on will be my daughter's personal bodyguard. "Yes your majesty." King: Meetings is now closed. Kira follow me so that shall tell your position to my daughter. We all walked out of the room and headed for the main hall where the ceremony or party is being held. The news about me being the princess personal bodyguard surprise me, but since this is a request from the king. I must fulfill my duty. As we headed towards where the princess is. I notice from a distance the princess talking to three men, one who I believe would be the princess' fiancee. We approached the princess. The princess turn towards us, curious as to what we want. King: Daughter dear, I have a little surprised for you, or rather something to keep you safe. Therefore from now on, you will have your own personal bodyguard which shall protect you from harm. You always wish to explore the city more or go out more often. Well with a bodyguard you can. Let me introduce you to your new personal bodyguard. The king signal me to step forward. I did as asked. King: Angelique, meet Kira Yamato, your personal bodyguard. I highly respect him for he is one of the most trusted men I know. I gently took hold of the princess' hand and slightly kissed it. After that, I looked at the princess straight in the eyes with my violet eyes. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Angelique-sama. My name is Kira Yamato. I shall do my best to protect you from any danger there is." I hear Strauss chuckled. Strauss: Kira may be the most reliable general, but he is one of the most nicest guy you shall ever meet, around here. I turn my attention towards strauss in embarrassment. "Strauss, she didn't need to know that!!" Strauss chuckled again by my reaction. He then pat me in the back. I scratched the back of my messy brown hair. I sighed. Our reaction had the king burst out laughing. King: Strauss, sure is correct about your kindness. "Not you too, your majesty?! >.<" The next thing I heard was a giggle. On man now the princess is laughing at me. |

Boris Boris looked with wonder at the astonishing percentage of blondes in the Great Hall. "I'm starting to feel out-of-place," he said to Rolf, who mercifully hadn't spoken in the past few minutes. "Hm?" Rolf grunted, looking up suddenly. "Oh, you mean your hair. Do you know the tale of Solantra?" "I've heard it once or twice," Boris said. For once, his servant was in a reasonably serious mood. This was an improvement on his almost incessant jokes and puns. "Recount it?" Rolf nodded. "Solantra was a city of great architecture and equally great size. It was a center of learning, but thankfully not a military power, although they could and did defend themselves in a pinch, thanks to a large population of arcane researchers." Boris blinked. "They had wizards?" "Wizards, sorcerers, diviners, any form of magic you could name," Rolf said. "And they all were blondes, spell-caster or no. Now, with all their magical might, there was one monster they could not defeat, an enormous, shape-shifting behemoth they called Sin. Sin's destructive power was fearsome, but not the stuff of legends. No, what really made the creature so terrible was its regenerative ability." Boris nodded. "Go on." "Every day, at sunset, Sin would attack Solantra," Rolf intoned. "Every night, the city's spell-casting militia would kill Sin after much effort, and with many losses. And every sunrise, Sin would rise again. This cycle continued for a week before people started moving west across the ocean, toward a new frontier. Precious few of them were practitioners of the arcane arts, because everyone who was had had their pride trampled on by Sin, who refused to stay dead despite their best efforts. Every man who practiced magic was eager to do the job that had thwarted so many, and those who failed were angry at Sin for defying them." "Talk about conceited," Boris commented. Rolf nodded. "They were conceited," he agreed. "So many years of peace and being the world's most powerful tends to dull one's survival instinct. But moving on, by two month's worth of such battles, Sin had leveled much of Solantra, almost all of the citizens had fled, and the militia had no more reason to continue fighting. Even so, they fought. Some fled, true, but the majority kept fighting in vain, out of foolish pride. They didn't even have the numbers to bring down Sin one more time, and they couldn't have done so if they had, what with how exhausted they were. Sin wiped them out easily, and that was the end of Solantra. The remainder of the city fell to ruin, and the survivors who fled would become the founders of Terradis and eventually the conquerers of the black- and brown-haired people who were already here. Four thousand years passed, and here we are, with Terradis primarily inhabited by blondes." Boris mulled this over. "Then... Sin is still out there?" Rolf nodded. "No one wants to confront it, not after what happened to Solantra four thousand years ago. No one wants to even entertain that thought, even now. But yes, the city of Terradis could very easily fall to Sin just like Solantra did. Now, I believe you have an appointment to keep, Young Master?" That was true. Boris had been in the royal palace for at least forty minutes and hadn't yet greeted his host, the King. "Yes, I do. Thank you, Rolf." "Think nothing of it," Rolf said, his smile back on his face. "Or rather, think something of it but don't dwell on it."
There are two things I can't stand in this world - people who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.

-'angel'- I was looking at him eminently when my father suddenly said "Lord Harlen, please come forward and meet my daughter, Angelique, your fiancee." Right, 'fiancee'. The word echoes in my head as if it's a big deal. Well, it is a big deal. Two weeks and i'm gonna marry some guy whom my father had just chosen for me, I just don't like it. I wanted to travel and meet new people and I'm not yet ready for this. He then took and kissed my hand so gently and made me a little nervous but somehow felt delightful as he whispered the phrase "my lady.." After a few minutes, a man came and talked to my mother. I was baffled by what they were talking about but I guess it must be something dreary that happened in his past. The engagement ceremony is almost starting and as my mother and I greeted the other guests, including my fiancee, my father called me and said that I will have a personal bodyguard so I can go wherever I want to. And he was Kira Yamato. He also has a deep violet eyes just like Lord Harlen's. His gaze upon me tells me that I am secured with him by my side. I was about to lift up a smile when the guy named Strauss said something. My father laughed, and as I also find it a little amusing, and so I giggled. "Yamato-kun, you sure are a nice guy. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu." And gave him a friendly smile. |
